Krul Build defensive against their items, but be careful of stacks and ability to initiate a team fight.
4
Joule Build defensive against their items. Learn to Reflex Block her Ultimate and you will win.

Catherine Because of her silence and stuns and because if she is built correct, can stay alive forever. Really boring, slow, agonizing fight if facing a Support Catherine.
6
Glaive Be cautious of his Afterburn. Build defensive against items.

Petal Just because of her longer ranged attacks and burst damage. If skilled can be VERY Deadly early game.

Disclaimer Top

Writing a step by step for every possible scenario is impossible for any class. So, I am going to attempt to provide what I think is a useful and thorough guide to the building of Adagio and will spell out the important rate limiting situations that will hold you back from becoming a better MOBA player and more skilled at Adagio.

This guide is written as if my enemies are "Weapon Enemies" so just change the items depending on which Final build you are heading toward. Also, the last 2 items are ALWAYS the ones you will have to decide which will benefit your team more.

Please feel free to comment and I will do my best to answer any questions regarding the build or scenario that you might have.

Also, my IGN is Razfyn and I am always looking to play with skilled Tanks and Assassins/Fighters. Feel free to add me. My Skype is also Razfyn and while I enjoy just yolo'ing matches, I much prefer Skype. While on the topic of chatting, my Line name is...you guessed it Razfyn, so feel free to add me on there as well.

I can play other Heroes and would very much like to learn how to play Taka, Glaive, and Krul at a high level.

My Mindset While playing Adagio, and what I expect from my team. Top

Although I am playing a support class, I am VERY AGGRESSIVE. I am always looking to pick up easy kills and definitely not afraid of team fights.

When I play with other players I am looking for that same aggressive, intelligent play.

When I say aggressive that doesn't mean tower diving and just blowing all abilities and hope for a kill. I am very very patient and enjoy stalking the enemy and setting up a coordinated strike.

I HATE and WILL NEVER PLAY with anyone who thinks only the player with the kills matter and they are better than me because they are the one reaping the rewards of playing with a Full Support Adagio. I would challenge anyone of those players with that mindset to try that without a player devoting sole attention to supporting the team.

Early Game Top

I always choose the following:

Ironguard Contract and then ONLY if I'm fighting a Koshka or Taka I will take a Flare Gun or Scout Trap depending on team setup and strategy.

With this build, I primarily lane because it is super easy to stay at a safe range while collecting gold. At this point in the game you are weak and slow, keep that in mind. Don't get to aggressive, especially solo. You should be fine 1v2'ing the lane until you get 300 gold at which point I would either port back or go to the mid shop and buy Sprint Boots. Then do the same with 700 gold at which point you will buy Travel Boots, and you should be fine to keep these for a while.

Remember you are here for team support and survivability. Unless your team is really bad, or you are, you should never have more than 3 deaths following this guide.

Mid Game Top

This is where the build starts to get fun!

At this point you should at least be level 4 with Ironguard Contract Travel Boots and should be working your way toward Crucible. This is one of the most pivotal items to purchase because of how beneficial it is when used at the right time in a team fight. It can, because I have seen the effects of it being used and not used, literally be the difference between you Acing their team or getting Aced!

You should be jungleing if your team is calling for a kill/gank but mainly staying focused on protecting lane.

**VERY IMPORTANT** When the mines open up -- YOU NEED TO CAPTURE YOUR MINE. If at all possible your teammates should take care of this and possibly trying for the opponents mine if you have a Koshka, Taka, and even Ringo.

Mid-Late Game Top

At this point in the game you should have: Ironguard Contract, Travel Boots, Crucible, and be working toward either Metal Jacket or Aegis depending on whether the enemy is building primarily Weapon or Crystal, then Fountain of Renewal.

During this phase continue to gank and team fight, while focusing on keeping your mine. Attacking the other team's center mine during high gold peaks. Make sure that you are using a Flare Gun and have both teammates helping you if the enemies are close. If your team gets ganked during the fight for either the Center Mine or the Kraken focus on the opposing team while trying to stay in the center area so that you don't lose progress on center mine or Kraken. Save ultimates for the last percentage points on the Kraken.

Remember: The team that hits him last will gain his control. So, save ultimates and even if you die, having the Kraken, especially the first time around at the 15 minute mark, is such an advantage.

Late Game Top

Now, you should have the following Ironguard Contract, Travel Boots, Crucible, either or both Metal Jacket and Aegis (look at above item layout}, Fountain of Renewal, and then Warhorn and Frostburn.

If you are losing team fights and need to help your team stay alive I would recommend upgrading your Ironguard Contract to Warhorn. The ability that gets activated can save your team, especially when combined with Crucible.

If your team is winning team fights and needs that extra momentum to push through a victory I would recommend selling your Ironguard Contract and upgrading all the way to Frostburn.

At this point you should most likely only be traveling with at the minimum 1 other team member because:
    1) The other team will be doing the same
    2) The death timers are very long and really penalize you for dying carelessly

Focus on setting up good team fights/ganks and maintain your mine and attempt to capture the other teams mine.

If you focus on this and continue to push you will end in victory.

Learning to use Crucible Top

**Hint Hint - start learning what the big charge up abilities are and learn how to stop them by using this, or if you are going for a kill. Referring specifically to you when you are at least level 6, have your Ultimate, and facing a Hero who can interrupt, like Catherine, and if they are even remotely skilled, learn to pre-pop Crucible, which activates the ability Reflex Block, which blocks debuffs, which will allow you to safely cast Verse of Judgement resulting in a stun, huge damage, and hopefully a kill.**

((Yes, yes, I know that Verse of Judgement is a 2 second cast and Reflex Block only allows you to stay safe for 1.2 seconds. However, I have never had a problem with this because 0.8 seconds is a very small amount of time and the timing would have to be impeccable and very lucky. So, if they ever were to actually block your ultimate in the last 0.8 seconds, "Add them to Friends" and play with them. :) ))

Ideal Team Top

Adagio, Krul/Glaive, and Taka

***This is just my opinion, I know there are other great team comps out there, however, this is my favorite to run.***
