Table of contents Top

Hero and ability Top

Infinite Reboot
Slot: Heroic perk
This is the signature part of Alpha’s kit. Essentially it gives you two lives.
NOTE: always look at the Reboot indicator, try to avoid fights if is not up.

Prime Directive
Slot: A
This is a great gap closer and deals Area of Effect (AOE) damage. Avoid to use this ability to initiate unless chasing down an enemy, since it deals increased damage and has more benefit with more Core Charge stacks. You should build 3 Core Charge stacks before using Prime Directive. Using Prime Directive removes the negative effects of Core Charge, so using it after you have 3 stacks is super important for maximum health benefit. Otherwise, it is best to keep auto attacking and using Core Charge.

While farming, Alpha can use Prime Directive to move between camps and on double minion camps to maximize the AOE damage. Prime Directive is very good ability for ganks in the lane since the slow is quite powerful and lets you gap close extremely efficiently.
In your CP build Prime Directive is your main font of damage, and still is extremely important for WP builds, so upgrade it and take the overdrive as soon as possible after taking the overdrive of Core Charge. Each upgrade point gives increased damage and slow, and taking the overdrive gives increased range.

Core Charge
Slot: B
Both in you CP or WP build you want to use this ability more often as possible. Damage, heal, stack. Hit as often as possible. To remove the negative effect, use Prime Directive on an enemy.

Termination Protocol
Slot: C
In her CP path, Alpha does a ton of damage with Termination Protocol. You can use it offensively and defensively. Try always use it when you are low hp in order to maximize your damage and build stack before.

Offensively, combo Termination Protocol with Prime Directive. Jump on the enemy right before the explosion. You have to practice with timing.

Defensively, when you are low on hp and in danger activate Termination Protocol and take advantage of the barrier and the movement speed to go out of enemy sight, in a bush where they have no vision for example, behind a wall, or near an ally or your turret. Turn the tables. Let the enemy choose to keep hitting you or change target risking to face your Alpha again. I also had a lot of success in the early-mid game using termination protocol after a gank. You can push the gank under the enemy turret, then activate Termination Protocol and run in the up bush in the center of the lane.
DANGER: You will use Core Charge very often in the middle of the fight, a misclick on your C can happen.

Build and strategy Top

Menace enemy laner!

Your early game depends on the jungle matchup. Build early defenses, always try to engage with your Core Charge stacks to 3. Don’t forget that B does a small AOE damage so align minions accordingly and use Prime Directive to move between jungle minions.

Alpha is a strong mid-game hero. Rush Aftershock, simply works great on Alpha's kit. If the enemy are squishy, build a Shatterglass instead and a Clockwork to fastener your reboot. The enemy should not have build a lot of defense in mid game so you will do a lot of damage and your defenses are rock solid. Play aggressively, build your stack and break in the enemy line, especially if your carry does a lot of damage. Be careful not to overextend aggression or you will be alone behind the enemy lines.

Late game probably the enemy has defences. More CP power or a Bonesaw are good choices. Always be infused!

Tips and tricks Top

  • Align minions while farming, your B does a little AOE damage
  • Always look at your stacks
  • Use Prime Directive for moving between minions camp
  • Use Prime Directive on minions when running away for flashy escapes over walls
  • Practice for perfect timing C - A
  • One of the worst matchup in jungle is against Krul. Atlas Pauldron, Poisoned Shiv (if WP), problem solved.
  • Alpha suffers kiting, expecially in high tiers. High tiers know how to counter Alpha with Frostburn, Shiversteel and with a wise hero chioice. So, be careful in draft. Never pick Alpha first. Never pick a counterable jungle first. Be smart.
  • Never play Alpha in lane. Don't be a troll. Don't be toxic. Try to have fun for you and for the others in order to improve the game experience.

Synergy Top

Speed boost Ardan gives you with Vanguard is a great chioce to chase down an enemy or reposiion yourself (you can go in but you have nothing to go out). Useful also during reboot. His Gauntlet is a good box for your AOE damages.
Lance is good with Alpha. He can halp you stick to the enemy or peel the enemy during your reboot.
Thanks her shield and stun Catherine is very good for you.
Heal and buff. With Verse of Judgement Adagio could stun the enemy so they cannot dodge your ult. Good.
Due to Alpha's gap closing his kit is not so useful, Phinn probably will be too far from you most of the times. Fairly good
Heal and slow. Can teleport you in the middle of the fight but her teleport sometimes will accidentally turn you away sometimes. Good
A lot of ways to get in the fight. Only boots to get out. Situational.
