Introduction Top

Welcome to another G2 hero guide! Today we are talking about another roam hero played as carry: Ardan. His skills and base stats also make him a very good weapon power carry for the jungle. He has good burst potential combined with gap closers/speedboosts and the ability to protect allies as well which makes him a strong pick for the jungle position. The main part about this build is to carry your team in the early game and putting pressure in the enemy team. His late game is not bad and if you did right in the early game it will be easy to clear off games with this build. So lets get started!

Abilities Top

Julia's Gift Top

Ardan heroic perk Julia's Gift allows him to heal 1% of his missing health when he gets hit by an enemy. That makes him naturally very tanky against any small damage sources such like Skyes Forward Barrage. Making good use of this kit, gives you the ability to build more offense instead of defense because you have an integrated damage reduction.

Also Ardan doesn't use energy but instead "Vengeance" which restores slowly over time or whenever he does basic attacks, abilities or critical strikes. Due to that fact it is very usefull on him to build attack speed and crit items to refill your Vengeance faster and deal more damage.

Vanguard Top

His first ability Vanguard allows him to dash to an ally target quickly, giving it a barrier which scales to his total health for 3 seconds and also giving the target a burst of movement speed. An Additional effect is that Ardan gains a boost of Vengeance and nearby enemy heroes get damage and slowed for a short duration.

Ardan can also cast this ability on himself but doesn't gain as much barrier, movement speed boost or Vengeance. An early Dragonheart will make this barrier bigger for you and your team and will also make you tankier. As an only defense item with a lot of positive effect, it is very usefull and you can concentrate on more damage after that.

Use this ability to escape to an ally teammate or boost yourself/allies to help them survive sticky situations. You can also use this to slow enemy hereos in front of you and as an auto-attack reset to hit again immediately.

Blood for Blood Top

Ardans second ability Blood for Blood makes him such a great weapon power carry for the jungle. Ardan immediately leaps forward and deals basic attack damage to the targeted enemy. This ability can only be used when the Vengeance bar is full and it will consume all. On overdrive this ability deals another 25% more damage so I recommend leveling this ability whenever you can!

Keep in mind that this ability also has a chance to crit same as all your basic attacks which makes crit items very strong on this hero. Also consider building an early Minion's Foot will nearly guarantee that the next fight will be won. Use it to stay ahead of your oponent jungler and try to steal as much farm as you can.

Gauntlet Top

Ardans ultimate Gauntlet makes him a great support as well as carry for your team. Ardan charges in the air for a short duration and drops an arena to the targeted location. Every enemy who tries to pass the arena gets crystal power damage and is stunned for a short time. BUT enemies can Reflex Block to get outside of it without getting stunned.

This ability is perfect for you because when you reach level 6 and your enemies don't have a Reflex Block yet they are trapped and always in melee range of your attacks. If they can't stay on range you will kill them very quickly, if you use the right combo (look at the section "Early Game" for the combos). But keep in mind that if you leave this area it will disappear, making enemies able to walk freely again. Sometimes you should sacrifice yourself if you can't win the teamfight. That way you save your allies and maybee keep your enemies off pushing important objectives such like Kraken or turrets.

Using this ability will also automaticaly fill your whole Vengeance bar giving you the ability to immediately use Blood for Blood on your wished target. This gives even more burst to this burst weapon power jungle ardan build. Using a Blood for Blood on level 8 with already a Sorrowblade in your pocket will definitely hurt a lot!

Combo Execution Top

Gameplay & Strategy Top

Early Game Top

Ardans early game is very important if you play rhe aggressive build like I do. Try to invade as much as you can (if the enemy jungle comb allows to) and get an early advantage by taking some farm away. Ardans burst potential on early levels just with some weapon power items is insanely strong. If you didn't try it so far you should definitely try it out in your next game and you will be surprised!

Now lets get to some basic combos which makes weapon power Ardan such a strong burst hero:
You can already start using the combo at level 2 which normally will deal like at least 75% of the enemies health. Try to get in melee range of your target first and use a normal auto attack. Immediately use your A ability Vanguard which will cause a slow, small Vengeance boost and an auto attack reset. So after this just auto attack another time and use your B ability Blood for Blood right afterwards. This ability is also an auto attack reset so you will be able to deal another auto attack! This combo takes like 2 seconds max if you use it correctly and will melt all your targets health bars to nearly 0. Dont switch targets if you use this combo and try to get a quick kill to cause a 2 vs 1 or 3 vs 2 situation as fast as you can. The more attack speed you buy, the faster this combo can be used and the faster you can use more Blood for Bloods but this combo combined with a Sorrowblade should be enough damage to finish of a lot of targets in the early game.

A Shiversteel will also help you to make sure your enemies can't flee from your melee range. Buy it if you feel that your combo is not strong enough to kill them anymore. Also always consider buying a Reflex Block if the enemies team is full of stuns to make sure you get your combo out before they can interrupt you.

Mid Game Top

In the mid game you should at least have 1 completed damage item as well as starting your second one or having a completed Shiversteel. Also remind yourself that you may need to upgrade your Sprint Boots to rotate faster and collect farm as well. Boots will also help you to finish of target who survive your comboattacks! Else there is not much of a difference between the early game and the mid game. Just get as much farm as you can and also help your laner or gank the enemies laner sometimes if you can. This will help you to snowball a game into your direction and win it for your team as a carry supporter.

Late Game Top

If you did everything right and snowballed the game it should not be longer than 16 minutes with a Kraken finish if you weren't able to close out the game earlier. With a Sorrowblade and Tyrant's Monocle your damage should be enough so if you have those 2 with some attack speed you can consider building defense like Aegis or Atlas Pauldron to survive longer in teamfights and help your team.

Weapon carry Ardan is a great pick for the draft mode. It allows you to steal away one or two good supports and also always adds the momentum of surprise to your draft. Ememies won't know that you play carry Ardan until you pick a second support! Use this to your advantage which makes drafts you may lose to good drafts again.

Heroes with and against Ardan Top

Last but not least I want to talk about some combos and dangers for weapon power carry ardan:

A good support for your weapon power carry Ardan is definitely Fortress. His burst potential with his B ability combined with Ardans combo will burst down enemies even faster! You could also consider playing it with other supports but using this combo the best is surely only with Fortress. Also Lance is a good support, because he is tanky and very annoying thanks to his abilities.

Dangers: Watch out for tanky jungle heroes like Krul or Reim! They may survive your combo and heal up again or survive too long with barriers to defeat you in the long run. Ardan carry would be the best pick if your opponent team has squishy carries like for example Taka or Celeste. Try it out yourself and you might be surprised how much potential was hidden in a normal supporter! As always we want to thank you for reading and stay tuned for our next guide coming weakly!
