Glaive is such a great jungler, but BestCelesteEU showed us some great lane gameplay in the ESL Finals, and I think it'll change the meta. Check out the match at the link below.

Click to watch BestCelesteEU. This will take you to the first Nkn - P match that BestCelesteEU uses Lane Glaive. Enjoy!

So how did he do this?

Learn to Lane Top

BestCelesteEU starts out with a Book of Eulogies and halcyon potionsx2. Pretty standard, especially for a melee laner. He also chooses his first skill based on his needs, waiting for the first few minutes to actually place the point into a skill.

Throughout the initial laning phase, BestCelesteEU does a dance similar to what you may see laning Joules do. But there's a huge difference: all last-hits come out of auto attacks. This is very important. Holding out to use abilities will allow you to help in any ganks with a nasty Afterburn to say "No you don't!".

Afterburn will allow you to be slippery, max it out first.

Mid-game Top

BestCelesteEU rushes the Breaking Point once he has his Reflex Block and Sprint Boots. This is where a good support comes in handy, but if none exist in your match. You can go for the Crucible and/or a Fountain of Renewal first.

The lane pays out the most gold. Use that to your advantage. Build into your T3 items quickly, but do not neglect team fights in the jungle. Keeping Book of Eulogies until you truly needs space will allow you to continue to soak the lane of gold until the very end.

Late Game Top

The item build above is following BestCelesteEU's build in the last match of ESL. This is a build only meant for the brave. By creating a tanky Glaive meant to specifically counter the enemy team, BestCelesteEU was able to use Breaking Point to it's full potential. Bloodsong also works in tandem so well with Breaking Point because of the passive lifesteal.

Keep yourself alive by properly countering what your enemies are building. The longer you stay alive, the more devastating Breaking Point will become for you.

Also, for alternatives for countering, picking up a second Crucible or a Shiversteel is never a bad idea. Stay alive.
