Intro Top

I have been playing glaive since I got into vainglory and have even earned his legendary skin by selling cards and finding them. I used to play weapon power exclusively but lately I have began to play CP with very good results. I would recommend trying this build our in blitz and messing around with it to get the hang of it.

Overview Top

most of the build is explained in the following paragraphs, I didn't use the hero scale because it didn't work very well on my computer so I simply wrote it out. If you have any questions about the build email me at [email protected], or leave a comment.

Junglers Top

There are some lanes that can be played as jungles that I mention later on. Both krul and take in the right hands can be vey frustrating to play against. In this patch krul is extremely powerful and can be very hard to bring down. Against taka you just need to keep up with you defense and make sure you have flares. Petal is another hero that can be troublesome but as glaive you just need to afterburn her into the range of your carry.

Roamers Top

Lyra can do a lot to hinder glaive. her bright bulwark shuts down his afterburner and that is one primary ways of dealing damage and controlling team fights. Phin can also be tough because of his resistance to stun. other than that though there aren't many roamers that shut down glaive.

Laners Top

Saw is one of the easiest hero to play against with glaive. whenever he uses his spin up ability or has full stacks he is just a sitting target to get batted around. There are only a few hero that give glaive trouble in lane and that is when they are able to avoid his afterburn. kestrel can do it if she gets enough weapon power, black feather can easily get away once he unlocks rose offensive, and gwen can use her sprint ability to get away.

Build Top

This build focuses on using glaives mobility and the full power of his afterburner. His afterburner and blooding can deal massive damage which is augmented by alternating current combined with his B. This build is adapted for either early team fighting or early aggression. If you are able to get control of the treat at the shop and maybe even secure a kill or two then it is easy to turn that into a snowball by continually stealing away jungle camps with the aggressive jungling build. However if you end up on the losing end of the initial fight you may want to focus on using glaives afterburner with aftershock to gank the enemy laner to get back into the fight.

Playstyle Top

While WP glaive is very strong CP glaive presents some very powerful combos and some thing WP does not offer. When playing CP glaive banking often is very easy because of the low codlin on your afterburn and the massive damage that your blooding does. When playing CP glaive it is important to have a very powerful later. Two of my personal favorites are Kestrel and Ringo. After your afterburner Ringo can use his achilles heal shot to slow the enemy hero and secure the kill. If timed correctly you can knock the enemy hero into kestrals active came and that's a guarented kill. Your main purpose is to harass the enemy carry by continually knocking them into the middle of the team fight. Something to keep in mind is that afterburn is a very useful tool for knocking enemy heros out of their ultimate.

Good Roamers and Laners Top

As I said before Kestrel and Ringo are great lanes to be paired with CP glaive but there are many others that will also work. Vox and Gwen would also be good choices. As for roamers almost all of them work but there are three that I really like. Catherine, Lyra and Lance. I really enjoy playing with these three because they compliment glaives afterburn very well. Lyra is just a dominate assistant later in general and can help keep pressure on the lane. Catherine is great because you can afterburn and then Catherine can stun the lane if needed. And lance has such a long range that he can root the enemy later giving you time to afterburn.

The skin Top

Personally I think the legendary glaive skin is the best overall anyway but it just somehow fits playing glaive. His huge blue axe is perfect for dealing massive damage to the entire enemy team with his blooding and the animation for the afterburn is amazing.
