Threat Hero Notes
1
Adagio Tank adagio: Doesn't do much; his heals are minimalistic and as adagio is quite slow you should be able to get max stacks bonesaw
1
Ardan Tank ardan: Vangaurds can get very annoying! Make sure to get crucible so your teammates can Walt out and don't spectral smite until is vangaurd is down on him or his allies
1
Celeste Cp celeste: I feel bad for celeste, she has decent dps with her abilities but krul can kill her in about 3 basic attacks a dmr and a spectral smite. Also when you get an aegis to counter her, she literally can't do anything to you as you can just close the gap with your heroic perk and lifesteal her while she's slowed by both your heroic perk and shiversteel. Also her crystal damage gets reduced every time you attack her with a basic attack so if you use a basic attack heroic perk then a dmr and another basic attack, she does 40% less crystal damage to you.( her helio with those spectral smite stacks only does about 50 damage to you endgame)
2
Adagio Wp adagio: Does average dps and is quite squishy; gank him and you should start off with as much health as when you kill him.
2
Ardan Burst ardan: Tension bow and aftershock can be quite annoying midgame, however endgame he is very squishy and puts out very little damage. Plus his vangaurd won't really do anything to help negate spectral smite damage
2
Glaive Tank glaive: He can do much to you, sure he can afterburn you to a potentially fetal position endgame if your dead mans rush Isint avaliable, but if it is you can use it on him to regain lost ground and spectral smite him to get all your health back.
2
Joule Any type of joule: Pathetic dps endgame and crappy ult; your fast enough to avoid rocket leap and endgame can just wail on her teammates and ignore her.
2
Krul Krystal krul: He doesn't have much burst endgame and with shiversteel you should be able to live a whopper spectral smite, afterwards just lifesteal shiversteel and regain all of your health. Plus your spectral smite is bad news for him as you nerf his spectral smite damage with your spectral smite passive and therefor reduce the burst dealt to you.
3
Koshka Tank koshka: Although a serious problem earlygame, she can't just Leroy Jenkins into your team without being killed due to her nerf; aftershock also does next to no damage with her aswell now, and you don't have to prioritize her anymore in teamfights.
3
Ringo Wp ringo: With both your slows (a speed boost from one of them), a stun, and a gap closer it Is impossible for him to kite you. Due to his extreme squishiness, you should be able to kill him with just 3 basic attacks a dmr and your spectral smite. Make sure to buy a metal jacket or atlas pauldron to counter whatever he's building.
3
Ringo Cp ringo: he can't kite you like his Wp bretheren and does less and less damage as you attack him more and more due to his spectral smite stacks. The only problem he presents is his ult; if you are at low health sprint to a health minion, get max stacks possible on it without killing it, spectral smite it. You should be fine after doing this.
3
Taka Wp taka: Save your ult, wait for him to try and tension bow and ability you (don't worry any health item is the perfect counter to him aka shiversteel), then when he tries to 1v1 you and realizes it isint working for him he will try to kaku. Ult in his direction immediately! Then you will get refreshed stacks on him and you can finish him with a spectral smite.
3
Vox Cp vox: voxes resonance can be annoying in teamfights, so focus on him. Wait for him to sonic zoom then do the same thing as you do to wp vox. He is just as squishy, and just as killable.
4
Petal Cp petal: No minon candy? No problem, her minions will do substantial damage so to deal with her I do something I do with no other hero. I throw my sword out of the bush when all her munions are lined up in my direction and kill them all while simultaneously attacking her with my frightening heroic perk. She is defenseless without her munions and to insure a kill with her. I recommend scafolding your perk slow with your shiversteel to make sure she doesn't get away with boots.
4
SAW Cp saw: Rush tuer 2 shield and he will do paltry damage, your spectral smite passive will be the end of him.
4
Taka Cp taka: Once again Save your ult; he will use both abilities on you and run away with kaku (you will be able to get 4 stacks on him 2 basic attacks and 1 dmr before he does). As soon as he does ult in his direction, he will get caught and due to his extreme squishiness he will definitely die after about 2 more stacks( 1 ult gives 1 stack, and 1 basic attack.
5
Catherine Tank catherine: Be careful of her stun; also never ever spectral smite on her because her bubble could end up killing you and your teammates.
5
Glaive Wp glaive: He will out dps you endgame by a small margin and has insane burst midgame( good thing your somewhat Tanky) However due to this he will probably try to 1v1 you; you will most likely get all 8 stacks on him for spectral smite and get 5 stacks on bonesaw and will get insane lifesteal because of this. He also gets weaker because of spectral smited passive. You should be able to kill him if you're smart.( Be careful against an all crit glaive)
5
Koshka Cp koshka: She's deadly earlygame, but cant do that amount of damage endgame. You should be able to hunt her down with a shiversteel and your ult if she has low health. Also don't prioritize her in teamfights anymore.
5
Krul Wp krul: He can outdamage you, but if he doesn't have a bonesaw you should be able to keep your barrier up via dmr more often than him and kill him. If he does, it's a risky gamble just wait for a sniper for backup
5
Petal Wp petal: breaking point can kill you in prolonged teamfights, but as long as you and you teammates focus her first, she'll be dead in 3 seconds. Don't try to 1v1 her with out a bush and shivarsteel up; it is quite easy to negate her range with these talents so be smart.
5
Skaarf Cp skaarf: Once again rush tier 2 shield item; after doing so his first 2 abilities will do next to nothing. His ult is the main problem here, what you need to do is save your ult to use while he is starting to exhale. Other than that, he is quite squishy and like ringo will be dead with just 3 basic attacks, a dmr, and a spectral smite.
5
Vox Wp vox: He can run away with his sonic zoom whenever you try to gank him, so wait for him to use him and then gank. He is just like ringo, so your heroic perk and shiversteel should give you enough time to kill him easily, with a basic attack then a dmr, then 2 more basic attacks. Then spectral smite him and he's dead.

  No Threat
7
SAW Wp saw: he will kill you fully spun up faster than you can kill him if you are both at full health. The solution: get 4 attacks on him 1 basic dmr 1 basic and then ult him. After him being stunned for a second you should have 7 stacks on him( 4 basics,1 dmr= 2 stacks, and 1 ult stack) as soon as he is unstunned, he will try to roadie run away so shiversteel on your last basic attack while he's stunned. Then spectral smite and he's dead. If for some reason he Isint dmr him again to close the gap and basic attack him until he is. This will always work in a 1v1 situation and usually works in a 2v1 where there are no stuns up. It your ult Isint up, don't engage him without backup,

Introdution Top

Hi, my name is Manhoef, and I managed to get to mid simply amazing with just krul in Febuary. However due to glaive being a better aoe version of him at the time, and because of higher elo competition, I decided to main him instead. However now that krul got an ungodly buff, I have managed to use my old build, this build with amazing sucess.I routinely have a positive 10 kill death
ratio with this build quite often against poa players and due to this, have decided to share my build. So without further ado, lets get into how to successfully play him and his buffs of course.

Kruls buffs, large and small and how much better he is now Top

Krul before the update: to be quite honest was just plain squishy without defensive items. But now semc has him a new lease on the tank side of life. The first and the most discrete change to make krul more Tanky, was adding health, armor, and shield. They added 200 health and 10 armor and shield to his base stats for the buff, making him about 30% Tankier to all forms of damage. The less obvious, but even more terrifying change to krul is the mechanics of dead mans rush(dmr for short). The reason being, now dmr acts as itself and also a basic attack simeltaniously giving 34% lifesteal insentaniously. Also it now resets the basic attack, so you can get stacks of in less than a second. That's 68% lifesteal! Add a bonesaw in and you automatically get 48% armor pierce in less than a second. If you do the math and add on the last bonesaw stack and another spectral smite stack, 60% of your Wp is true damage with 85 lifesteal! This means that you get 183 true damage per basic attack (lvl 12+ sorrowblade) and get 155 true lifesteal health to 244 true lifesteal health per attack. Add on the rest of the normal damage and krul is hitting even harder. He also has 186% attack speed and gets an even quicker dmr cooldown! Krul can now be terrifying and Tanky!

How to use Kruls abilities, his heroic perk, and shiversteel Top

What makes krul so able to kill ranged characters such as ringo, and fast melee characters such as koshka? His slows, his stun, and his gap closers; a good krul can always win in a 1v1 situation and is inescapable when a character tries to 1v1 and runs away. His heroic perk grants him 2 additional move speed and a 40% slow (for 4 seconds) to the first thing he basic attacks, after standing still in a bush for 1.5 seconds. He can suprise the enemy by sprinting out of a bush and will stop any ranged hero from kiting him with the 40% slow. However, the slow provided by the heroic perk alone is not enough (most of the time)to secure a hero kill by itself. Overlapping the shiversteel and his heroic perk is a different story; with both of them combined at once you can sprint out of your bush (6.9 move sped with tier 2 boots)and slow by 73% for 3 seconds, and then hit again after the perk and shivarsteel have both run out to reactivate a shiversteel slow ( which is 40% for 3 seconds; shiversteel's
effects last 6 seconds ( the time period in which you can get the slow, which slows for 3 seconds). With this combo you slow by 72% for 3 seconds and then reslow for 40% slow for another 3 seconds. Pretty op right? Right after you slow with you perk and shiver for the first time, automatically use dmr to to reset for another basic attack automatic 4 stacks in less than 1 second( I go into this and his damage potential in the previous paragraph) . By the time the second shiversteel wears off and if you somehow haven't killed the enemy with a spectral smite, use dmr to cover the distance yet again to close the gap, and then use your ult to stun and slow basic attack once and spectral smite. That will kill any enemy garunteed! His ult has 2 purposes, 1 to stop an enemy ult from coming to deadly fruition Ue skaarfs ult, and 2 for chase and gap closing. His Spectral smite should always get at least 6 stacks up with the enemy being slow and all, and should never be used before 6 stacks. It can usually kill 50% health enemies with 8 stacks. Bonesaw and sorrowblade synergze very well with eachother and spectral smite and its passive.

The best(and worst) allies for krul Top

Krul has some really great allies; he also has some very terrible ones. Here are the do's and don'ts allies for Krul.
The good~

~ awesome slow for Kruls initiation(
and more slow), and puts out insane dps againts the very slow enemy

~ if the enemy is overextended and you in a bush while saw is also present, the enemy will die. Saw also has suppresing fire to help you gank and put your slow up even easier

~ Support glaives afterburn will immediatly put the enemy into your deadly 72% slow reach. He almost always can turn a 3v3 into a 3v2 by afterburning the enemy into your undead hands. If the enemy is clumped up, he can hit like a nuke with all 3 of his abilities send one of em into your direction, and will send the rest packing. If he has a warhorn prepare to chase, as your dmr and ult will certainly close the distance and
kill the enemy. Sometimes you may even get the ace just from the last enemy trying to defend against your deadly attack power.
~The bad

Taka in general is just a lackluster hero, his damage is good but krul easily carries, he can't go support he's just to squishy to start with, and he is a farm hog and krul needs farm to be effective. Krul Isint a support so quit bringing taka to the table!

How to play krul Top

The bush is your home. Anything that comes near your bush must be punished! But in all seriousness always look for ganks. When the enemy is past your 50 meter line, signal to your laner that your coming to gank. Always especially midgame hide in the bush for ganking.Be aggressive with anything under a tier 6 according to my hero list up there^, and always take advantage of flares. Anyone by themselves will be dead if your within your vicinity if they stray to close to a bush(impossible not to do in jungle). You can't be beaten 1v1, but never go into a 2v1. Always have a ranged hero such as ringo for backup. When In teamfights always be the initiator, you can taka a lot and with your insane lifesteal and damage they'll prioritize. While your stalking your teammates can and will end it while you just soak up the damage. You can either get an irongaurd contract letting your teammate feed ie glaive while getting lightly less gold and alloting 1 health minion to yourself, or you can feed while another uses an irongaurd contract. I hope this guide helps everyone who reads this play krul successfully, and highlights how good he can be.I will add more to this guide when time permits. Also I plan to make a build on aftershock krul in the near future. Kind regards
~ Manhoef
