Introduction Top

Hi everybody, I'm Peter, IGN lookatme, I'm captain of the Team SNOW.
Here's Glaive guide. This hero can deal enormous damage, and his critical strikes deal AOE damage in front of him. You can play Glaive in the jungle or on the lane. Well-farmed Glaive deals huge damage, and it's hard to kill him on the lane due to his Afterburn ability.

Abilities Top

Afterburn
The most important thing in playing Glaive is using his ability – Afterburn. It is used in 3 cases:
1. To move the enemy into dangerous position
2. To deal damage
3. To escape from a dangerous position
Try not to waste Afterburn, if you see that the enemy can easily avoid it. For example, Vox can do Sonic Zoom and Petal Trampoline!. Of course, Afterburn can be blocked by a Reflex Block, so you've to use it as suddenly as possible. The whole Glaive gameplay is built around this ability, to master it means to master Glaive as a hero. You should overdrive Afterburn ASAP, because on 5 lvl its cooldown time is only 12 sec, and you can use it twice in one fight.

Twisted Stroke
This ability deals one out-of-turn critical strike. I usually upgrade it last, but on 12 lvl overdrive it for more damage, critical chance and less cooldown.

Bloodsong
This ability deals massive damage to all enemies in a 5-meter circle around Glaive. Damage depends on the amount of stacks (check them in the bottom left corner), which are gained by basic attacking any enemies. Ultimate without stacks deals tiny damage, so always keep stacks fully charged before using the ultimate. What's more, charged stacks give Glaive lifesteal from basic attacks, which helps a lot, in addition to his big health.

Itembuilds Top

Glaive is pretty much universal when it comes to itembuild. Almost any item in the game can be used on him, if you analyze the enemies team comp and itembuild. Today I'll tell you about weapon Glaive.

The main item for a weapon power lane Glaive is Sorrowblade. Some players buy Tension Bow, but in 1.14 such itembuild isn't as powerful, because you've to buy Breaking Point later, and BP stacks very slowly now.

After buying the Sorrowblade you have to look at your enemies and try to predict the length of teamfights. If the enemies are bulky, with a lot of health and defense (e.g. Krul, Blackfeather, another Glaive), take Breaking Point, it deals lots of damage in long teamfights. After BP you can buy Tyrant's Monocle for more damage, or, if enemies buy Metal Jackets, a Bonesaw to shred their armor.

In case the enemies don't buy much defense, after Sorrowblade I take Tyrant's Monocle and Tornado Trigger. These both items give more critical strikes and more critical damage, TT also increases attack speed dramatically. With such itembuild Glaive instantly destroys enemies, who forget about defense.

Don't forget it yourself – if you receive much weapon damage, buy a Metal Jacket or Atlas Pauldron, if enemies attack you with crystal – Aegis or Fountain of Renewal. In the late game you can take 2 defensive items, don't neglect it. Also Travel Boots are very useful for Glaive.
