Threat Hero Notes
1
Krul Krul, who is deadly and very sticky is surprisingly not much of a threat to Lance. Just push him away from your team and receive handful of smile emoticons from them.
2
Koshka She is a potato. Don't even worry about meeting her in a queue. What are the odds?
3
  No Threat
4
Petal Petal? Don't underestimate her. She is powerful in the right hands however Lance can deny Petal's ultimate.
5
Phinn Phinn is the tankest roamer in Vainglory. His passive helps him ignore all of Lance's crowd control (root, knock back and stun). Phinn can counter initiate and rush your carries.
5
Blackfeather Blackfeather should be easy to take down before he reaches his level 6. His ultimate, Rose Offensive helps him become slippery but if he uses it to escape, he wouldn't be able to use it to attack.
6
Kestrel Her ability to hit multiple targets neutralizes Lance's ability to protect.
6
Glaive Glaive is a strong. Try to save your team mates from getting knocked into enemies.
7
Vox Vox is also very slippery. Lance can be kited away from distance very easily. And with this new CP Vox update, it could possible put Lance's allies in danger.
7
Ringo Ranged heroes are spooky and ringo is one of them. Try to keep him out of the range so he can't deal damage.
8
Celeste Celeste will be hard to take care if you decide to play passive aggressive. She has ability to deal damage from far away and with her crowd control, it will be difficult for Lance to reach her.
9
Taka It is very hard for Lance to spot out Taka without flares due to his lack of area of effect skills. Taka is able to slip away easily after taking his victim's life.
9
Skye Slippery Pew Pew lady. She will go past you and start raining her bullets into your team mates before you know it.
10
  No Threat

About Me Top

My name is Infernious (also known as DatBurn), a leader of Team iStardusts. I started to play Vainglory almost a year and half now. A year ago, I used Vainglory Fire to help myself become better when I started and saw how useful it was. So now I'm here, making a guide for you all to give my advice about this game.

Lanceis a new "roam" hero that joined the Fold in update 1.18. His ability to protect and engage helps him shine among the other heroes. His unique abilities help withering down group of enemies all at once which makes him effective.

He has the tankiness of Phinn, the ability to engage just like Catherine and ability to protect his team mates just like Ardan. Lance is a great roam hero in the right hands and can easily turn the tides of a team fight. This is my first attempt on making a guide on Vainglory Fire and I hope you find this guide useful.

Abilities Top

Please excuse my lack of knowledge of this website for I cannot create a flashy and pleasing guide but bear with me.

Lance's passive is Partisan's Technique. His basic attacks deal damage to all enemies along his path in cost of his attack speed. With his super long ranged basic attack, this passive helps farming and damaging the enemies. This passive works well with Shiversteal for it can apply slow to multiple targets if done correctly. Instead of energy, Lance uses Stamina for his abilities. Buying crystal items will increase his maximum stamina and stamina regeneration.

Impale is a skill shot that can root enemies within the path (Lasts up to 1.6 seconds). Lance will recover from his animation if he successfully roots an enemy or any objective. However, upon a miss, it will take longer for him to get out of his animation. Overdriving this ability will reset the cool down of his [[Combat Roll on a successful impale.

Just a little secret I figured out during his first week of debut on his Halcyon Fold. I was messing around with him in a Solo Practice match and found out that his Impale can let Lance walk over some walls. When he uses his Impale he takes a step forward and that's when the wall jump executes. Also keep in mind to be careful of using Impale on enemies right in fromt of you because there is a possibility that you will miss due to his animation.

Gythian's Wall is Lance's B. Passively, Lance strafes around the opponent he recently basic attacked for few seconds and holds his shield up. This reduces the damages coming to him. When you activate this ability, Lance sweeps infront of him and knock enemies back within the range and the holds a defensive position. This reduces the damage he receives greatly. When enemy becomes knocked back into a structure/wall, he or she will be stunned. Overdriving this ability will make Lance immune to any crowd controls such as slow and stuns.

Combat Roll is his ultimate. Lance rolls into a direction he chooses and quickly strike his enemy dealing additional crystal damage. "They see me rolling, they hating". Lance can use this ability to roll through walls (or just roll into walls and cry about how you failed. It's ok. I feel you).

Play Styles Top

You are a wall. A moving wall. A wall that hurts people and smacks them a few times. Be aggressive. Many roamers refuse to engage the enemies but to make the best out of Lance, you are gonna have to do it. Weaken the enemies. Soak up the damage and isolate the enemies. Use your Impale to slow your enemies down from reaching your carries or to stop them from escaping. Lance has great combos such as rolling into enenmies, rooting them then rolling behind them once more to finish them off by pushing the enenmy into your team mates. This was just an example of a combo you can do with Lance.

Don't be afraid of taking damage from turret to dive for the enemy to secure and ace. Your carries will appreciate you as they chase the enemy unharmed. A simple job of roam.

Oh and you want to make flashy plays? When you see that Kestrel's ultimate blinking, roll into it and take it for your team. They will love you. (Note: it's a difficult thing to do).

Caution Top

AVOID checking the bush with your A (especially in late game). Upon a miss, you will be forced to watch Lance struggle to pull his sword out of the ground as the enemies rush your carries who are now vulnerable. Instead use a flare.

Also be careful with Gythian Wall. The range is quite short so don't make full of yourself cutting the air and holding your shield up at your enemies who are now laughing at what you did. You done goofed.

Also you can't take Ringo's ultimate for your team. Don't even bother trying to block it when it clearly targeting your ally. (Use crucible instead).

Conclusion Top

Thank you for reading this horribly written guide by the salt master Infernious. It is really difficult to make a guide on a new hero. Before you go to the comment section and start complaining about how Lance should be played, not that this is just one of the ways you can play [[Lance]. However I would really appreciate friendly and NaCl-free comments about this guide so I can improve on making guides.
