Introduction Top

This guide started out as a reply to a question asked by Buyabha on the Vainglory Forums, and due to encouragements from Halcyon, Nealael and Sixx, I had decided to create a thread on the forums.

There has been a lot of positive feedback for the guide on the Vainglory Forums and now I have decided to publish this guide on VaingloryFire as this is usually the first place where many people will go to seek out Vainglory Guides. I am hoping that by publishing the guide here, it could reach a wider audience and thus benefit more people! :D

Many experienced players would have already known what these each visual indications mean, but I hope the information in this guide will be able help new players understand what each visual indicators in Vainglory means.

Miscellaneous Top

Hero Selection

Tapping on your hero portrait on the hero selection screen will allow you to specify the role you want.

Lane Minions

The size of Lane Minions will change depending on how many Minion Mines are under your Team's control. The more minion mines you are in control of, the bigger your minions on the lane will be.

Healing Camp

You can tell that someone has been healed by the healing camp creep in the forest when they have a blue circular glow.

Teleporting back to base

Health Barrier

A health barrier is essentially temporary bonus HP.
Krul's ability ' Dead Man's Rush' grants a health barrier for 2 seconds.
Ardan's Ability, ' Vanguard' grants a health barrier for 3 seconds.

Life Steal / Regeneratim

Lifesteal / Regeneration will show up as green numbers on your hero.
Some heroes like Krul, Glaive and Taka have natural lifesteal. You can also get lifesteal by purchasing items such as
Book of Eulogies, Barbed Needle, Serpent Mask and Eve of Harvest.

Lane Minion HP Indicator

When a lane minion's HP glows red, it means that it will be kill-able with one basic attack.

HP Indicator

You can tell how much base HP someone has by looking at the number of bars on their HP indicator.

Last Hits

This is an indication that you have successfully last hitted a minion and got the gold.

Aced

Your team will get an Ace Buff when all enemy heroes are killed. This will give you temporary faster Health and Energy regeneration and make your minions stronger.

Tactical Pings

These are some of the common ways the pings are used.

Green Ping - Go to a certain location / Target a certain enemy
White Triangle Ping - Group up at a certain location
Yellow Caution Ping - Avoid a certain location / enemy
Question Mark - Used to signal that an enemy hero is missing or to ask your teammates wether they want to capture a certain objective (gold mine, kraken, minion mine, etc)
Blue Running Man ping - "On my Way"

Indicators at top right of screen

Mini-Map

When enemies are nearby your teammates, you will be able to see that on the mini-map, so keeping an eye on the map will allow you to get to your teammates who need help.

You can also see your teammate's pings on the mini-map.
If enemies are standing near a scout trap your team planted, their location will be visible on the mini-map, so if you have Scout Traps planted at key locations such as Gold / Minion mines, you will be able to see on your mini-map when your enemies are trying to capture them.

Using a Flare Gun will also reveal the enemies' location on the mini-map.
Objectives you are in control of are in blue, objectives which are under the enemies' control are in red. Neutral objectives are in white.
