Threat Hero Notes
0
Reim Time your crucible when he does his ult, and he is manageable. He is very easy to chase down, so feel free to do so.
1
  No Threat
2
Ringo Mostly an easy kill, as he will not be able to burst you down in the late game, and he has very little health
2
Celeste Her high damage will most likely do nothing, as you will have high health, and a sizeable amount of shield. She has very low health so do not be afraid to directly engage her
3
Skaarf Another easy kill, you should have no problem trapping him with the gaunllet and letting the team finish him off
3
Joule Joule? Who's that, I've never seen her in a match?
4
Ardan Try to avoid attacking another Ardan, as he is not a high priority target, although he can be annoying and slow you down. Trust in your build, it is better I promise.
4
Vox Don't worry about him too much, he won't be focusing on you as you are the tank, although if he is crystal then you could still take substantial resonance damage. His low health makes him fairly easy to deal with
4
Phinn Just avoid his stun and hook and he isn't too bad. He does counter your gauntlet though
5
  No Threat
6
Glaive A weapon Glaive can kill you if there is no support from your teammates
6
Blackfeather He will have a hard time bursting you down, so try and lock him into a protracted battle, even though his ult may make it hard for you to do so.
7
Taka Even with Aegis, he can still murder you quickly. Try to pin him down with gauntlet when he does not have team support
8
Koshka In the early game she is a nightmare. Try to avoid her until you reach your third item
8
SAW Try not to engage him without team support unless you have an atlas pauldron, due to his high attack speed
8
Rona Do not get into focus her at all until you have to, as she will usually get all her health back with the whirlwind, and the lifesteal that almost every Rona builds
8
Skye She can burst you down pretty quickly. Only engage if you have backup.
9
Krul Do not let him lock you down in a continued fight on your own. If you see him while alone, flee!
9
Kestrel DO NOT WALK INTO THAT ULT
10
  No Threat

Introduction Top

Hello, this is my Ardan build. The aim of it is to help your teammates in every way possible, meaning at the end you should have plenty of assists, and you should have helped your teammates escape death

Now (finally) updated for the patch which removed half the items in this build rofl.

Item Explanations Top

Starting Items : the ironguard contract will give you lots of gold, and upgrade into warhorn, and the potions will allow you to contribute to fights early on without dying.

Early Game : I get the boots before the banner to allow Ardan to get to his teammates in order to help early on. The stormguard banner lets you farm quite quickly, and the regen is nice too. The oakheart will give you more health and make your vanguard more powerful, so why not buy it?

Mid Game : The warhorn lets you farm fast with your jungle partner, and take down towers quickly, also providing you with an escape for the entire team if a fight goes badly. The travel ( upgrade to journey after all other items have been purchased ) boots will give you more speed and health, the crucible gives your team even more help, and the additional health will make you tougher. Finally the aftershock works really well with the blood for blood ability, so it is a must.

Item Four : Put simply, if the enemy is all weapon, build the Atlas as this allows you to help in team fights even more, if all crystal build the Aegis and if mixed build the fountain.

Final Item : I prefer shiversteel as it allows your team to catch up with fleeing foes.

Item Seven: Buy infusion when you have all other items. They will make sure that you can do decent damage in the late game when enemies build defensive items. Aftershock is a pretty nice pick up too, it means that you stay highly impacted in fights in the late game, and it even activate when you punch them with blood, dealing a nice chunk of damage.

Scenarios Top

Starting Fights

Jump in with Gaunlet, and then use Blood for Blood on the weakest target, then use vanguard on a nearby hero, then use Blood again and you should win

Joining in Fights

Use Vanguard on an ally to get in quickly, then use Blood on the nearest enemy, if they are fleeing also use Shiversteel.

Escaping

Use Vanguard on the ally furthest behind, then activate Warhorn and escape together

Chasing

Use Shiversteel before launching in with blood for blood. If you need to, or if there are multiple enemies use the Gauntlet instead.

How to support Top

Having a support hero steal the farm of a carry is a sure way to lose a match. Your role as a support is to take the hits from minions, and let the other jungles take the last hits. You should still earn enough gold to complete this item build in long matches from the gold you get from the contract, kills, assists and towers. Despite having very few damage items, you do a hell of a lot of damage to towers because of warhorn, so feel free to push with your team, or even solo if you are feeling suicidal.

Updates Top

Sorry I have'nt updated for ages. I have had exams and have also been trying out Vox. Hopefully I will find time to update more frequently in future.

Update: Following the recents nerfs on health items and infusions, the build still remains good, if slightly less so than before.

Update: Yes, I know that contraption is out and seems to be the thing for support builds, but having tried it I can honestly say that the chasing and escaping utility with Warhorn is far more useful on this hero.

Update: I'm not dead! I've had a lot going on lately, and took a break from vainglory to rekindle my love for DOTA (I'll always love you Lina) but I'm back, with advice on how to crush the new heroes, from the pansy Blackfeather to the "my mum says I'm special Phinn" (there is only one good support on the halcyon fold, and it is not a brain dead troll).

More will be to come, when I find the time to edit this guide. In the meantime reviews are really appreciated, and I promise that I will take your suggestions on board. Thanks for taking the time to read!
