To make myself clear Top

Hi Guys!

My skill-tier right now is in the middle of Simply Amazing so I don't think that I'm the best player in the EU but I'm OK. I've been playing VG from early November and this is my first MOBA so I'm not an expert at all, the reason I'm doing this guide (my really first guide) is that I haven't find on single guide about this topic that described the whole situation.

Feel free to comment your opinion!
I hope the following tips will help you to beat a BP hero! I really hate BP because there's no perfect and easy counter item for it, so maybe these tips...

About BP in general Top

  • Breaking point in the new update has been nerfed for ranged characters (like Ringo, Petal, Adagio , SAW...) and strengthened for melee characters (like Taka, Ardan, Krul, Catherine, ...).
So right now it's much more effective with melee characters than ranged heroes. More effective means that melee heroes get more plus damage per stack (15 rather than 9 as a ranged hero) than ranged characters.
  • Breaking Point is cheap but takes a bit of skill the use. The reason to this is that you have to gather stacks to be really effective and get the most out of it. The more stacks you have, the more OP it gets.
  • To build stacks you have to attack enemy heroes. Whenever you are attacking enemy heroes you get 1 stack per second. If not, you lose a stack each second. 20 stacks max.
  • Because you have to build stacks, you have to stay alive as long as possible so you need defensive items which give you health. You can use Crucible or Shiversteel (the later is better for Breaking Point because it is cheaper and it's active gives no chance to the enemy to escape).

Items against Breaking Point Top

  • Breaking Point against Breaking point can be a solution if you have enough skill to use it, enough money to buy it and you have a tank in your team. If so buy yourself a Breaking Point and target the enemy hero that has Breaking Point.
  • Atlas Pauldron's armor and shield gives you almost nothing against a great BP player but it's active can save your life. If your team focuses the enemy BP hero, than use it early. In this case that hero won't be able to build stacks because of the lowered attack speed.
If your teams communication is bad and you are not focusing that hero that uses BP, than wait some seconds before you use Atlas Pauldron's active. In this case he/she won't be able to use the stacks because of the lowered attack speed.
  • If your team focuses the BP user than you will need high burst damage to eliminate him/her. And to do so buy an Aftershock (or Tension Bow, but Aftershock is much more effective) and if you can manage, make your teammates buy themselves an Aftershock too so your team will be able to take down that hero before he/she can build stacks.

Heroes against BP Top

  • Krul can be effective against BP if he has backup. Krul's weakness points slow the enemy so it can't build stacks. If you play Krul against BP, focus on attack speed (so you will be able to slow the BP user faster) and don't use your second ability until you are sure it will kill the enemy, because if you use it too early, the BP user will have the chance to build stacks again and then you much likely to loose the fight.
  • Taka with his burst damage can take out almost immediately a BP user if he is able to surprise him/her. So with aka focus on tension bow, aftershock and try to kill the BP user when he/she is vulnerable. In my opinion you should use your second abality before engaging if you are sure about taking him/her immediately. If you are not sure than don't attack, or attack from a bush with your third ability, one basic attack, first ability, one basic attack and then your second ability. From now if you think you can get the kill, go for it, if not, but you think you'll be able to get it when your Tension bow is loaded again, then follow the enemy while you are playing the fox in the box.

Strategy against BP Top

Focus on the enemy BP user! That's the key! Use your Atlas Pauldron as mentioned above and get the kill as fast as you can with the burst damage items. Use the "GO" pin on the BP user so your teammates will know what you're thinking about!
