Threat Hero Notes
1
Fortress Fortress is my least favorite character. Don't worry about him.
1
Petal Petal is super squishy. Bring her in with your Ult and she is toast.
1
Skye She is quick, but squishy. You will have enough shields and health to survive for a while.
2
Glaive No more getting pushed around. You are bigger and toub=gher
2
Koshka Hopefull she focuses on you. You can take her hits. CP isn't scary.
2
Krul Max out your A ability quick and you can stun Krul. That is his biggest weakness
2
Rona This is why we are a tank. To take Rona and carries on straight on.
2
Taka One of the biggest reasons I like Phinn. Carries don't seem nearly as scary
3
  No Threat
4
Ardan This is a stand-off.
4
Catherine This is a stand-off. Pointless battle
4
Celeste Use your ult well and your teammates will gobble her up. Let her attack from afar and you could have difficulties.
4
Joule Luckily you can't be stunned by her jump, but just don't let her take out your teammates.
5
  No Threat
6
SAW Don't do a stand-off with him. He will win. But you can take some bullets to take some aggro from your teammates.
6
Skaarf His abilities won't be to bad with your shield.
7
Adagio If you get crucible then he won't really be a problem. Phinn doesn't get stunned anyways.
8
Vox Quick and Agile, two things that don't describe Phinn. Work with teammates to focus on him first.
9
  No Threat
10
Ringo Slows down the slow. Don't let him kite you. It will be the death of you.

With Phinn, you want to start strong and be a good support. This is fundamental to this build. Letting the others take the fame and glory, but at least you will be alive the whole time. You will also have some really cool moments as your enemies run away and you drag them back to their death. But it will probably just end up with you getting an assist. What matters though is getting that "W" and destroying the vain.

Start out getting an Irongaurd Contract. This is so important. You will be the first to hit all of the minions, but obviously let your jungler take all of the kills. Benefits you both.

Also, buy a Halcyon Potion and a Flare. These will come in handy after you have gone through your first round of farming. Once you are done farming your first round and have bought the first items. Flare over to the other side to see if the other team is there.

If there is no one- go over and set a trap. See if their minions are there. If they are, take them. Farming is the most important. Then leave a trap on your side of the store.

If one person is there - Attack them in the store. You should have a jungler with you and have the element of surprise. Take him out. Then leave a trap on there side of the store and then your side.

If two or more are there - Avoid the attack. Leave a trap on your side and start a new round of farming.

Mid-Game Play Top

This part will really depend on who you are going against. If the other team is attacking really hard then go for my tank version and stick to some defense. I like to have a lot of health and a lot of defense. Only go for armor though if they have two characters building weapon power. If they aren't focusing as much on weapon power then I would get Fountain sooner. Fountain will be your (and your teammates) best friend. This will get you out of a lot of sticky situations and keep your Jungler alive.

If they don't have a lot of attack going on and are pretty tanky. Then you should be set with everything, but the armor. You can go with a CP build instead like I show in the attack tank build version. In this version you can get the Chronograph instead so that you can use your abilities more. This will come in handy when you are in some close battles. Phinn's A ability already does a lot of damage. After maxing it out, it will also stun them too. Which will provide even more control over the battle. Being able to use that more will keep carries attack down and provide time to kill them.

Flares and Traps- The Underrated Items Top

You will notice that I will always carry flares or traps. These are very underrated items.

Flares: I always start with one of these. Throughout the game (especially if they have a Taka) I will buy them. If we are getting ganked a lot especially. They are only 25 to buy, but can save your life and help both of your teammates from making poor decisions. Ganking is where I used to die the most. If I can cut that out and never get ganked, then I die a lot less.

Traps: On the other side, Traps will allow you to always have vision of where your opponents are. Plus they add the bonus of doing damage also. They are a bit more expensive, but can save your life and give you and early advantage in the game because they deal quite a bit of damage. After the first buy, I will buy 3 traps EVERY time I go back to the shop. Study where to place them.

Get to know this map well. These are the best locations for your traps throughout the game depending on how you are doing.

How to Use Phinn's Abilities Top

A good tactic to use when fighting with Phinn is to stand next to your teammates and next to the turret (this can also be done in the bushes) Ping with the green target who you will be focusing on. Hopefully the just run up to you and you can stun them with A right away. If they are running past then do your B ability to draw them in. If they are too far away, then use your Ult. This will bring them in close for you all to pounce. Immediately after, you will want to use your B ability. Keeping the target around for longer will give the others more time to kill him.

I always max out the B ability over the C ability because the B ability maxed extends the reach of the ability. Allowing you to draw in more players. The C ability maxed will just lower your CD rate. This is good, but you will be using the B ability more often and it can provide an extra pull more consistantly.

Between Stunning with the maxed out A ability, keeping them close with the B ability, and making sure they don't leave with you ult; You can be a very very dangerous lizard.

End Game Thoughts Top

The final build shows in order of importance. You want to have fountain as quickly as possible. After that it depends on the game you are fighting. I prefer getting an atlas pauldron. Against certain characters like Krul this will be very vital to your survival. I pride myself on never really dying with this build. I last of all get aftershock to back up all the health I have an do some high-flying damage.

Once I have the boots, that means the game is over. If you have a fast Phinn, you have a dangerous Phinn. Make sure that you know how to use this though and don't rush it. Yes it provides more armor, shield and health, but we can get those in the other things and they do it a lot more efficiently. We just want speed at this point. That way no one is getting away from me.
