***FEATURED IN WEEKLY STAFF PICKS AND IN-GAME NEWS SECTION***
Hi, i'm steamy from the EU server, and i'm a PoA Bronze (just hit silver) Alpha, Skye and Rona main. And, with the release of Lance, I thought I would try him in lane, and he is extremely strong, so I thought I would make a guide. Let's get to it.

Lance's Abilities
Partisan's Technique Impale Gythian Wall Combat Roll
Lance's basic attacks damage every target along their path. However, his attacks are slow to land and attack speed is less effective on him. Instead of energy,Lance uses stamina to activate his abilities. Purchasing items with energy and energy regeneration increases his stamina and stamina regeneration. Lance strikes through his opponents, dealing weapon damage and rooting them in place. If this attack hits atleast one enemy, Lance will immediately recover from the ability. Passive: Lance strafes around the enemy he most recently attacked. While strafing, he reduces damage from the target's direction by up to 50%. Active: Lance sweeps opponents away with his polearm, dealing weapon damage and also stunning them if they collide with a wall or structure.Afterward, he holds his shield steadfast, greatly reducing incoming damage from his facing direction. He rolls. And his next basic hits faster. Lmao.
This makes him unfathomably strong with lifesteal. Able to quickly shred armour from multiple targets with Bonesaw, aswell as keeping his distance and gaining health from his basic attacks, Lance becomes a threat very quickly.
OH MY GOD THE BASE DAMAGE. With just a heavy steel you can expect to see some big red numbers on your screen in no time, but be warned that you cannot use this as an escape as it will keep you stuck in place, because, well, ba-lance.
This is one of the best support skills in the game. This makes Lance nearly un-gankable as he can sweep your entire team away from himself. Also, he can use it to peel for his team mates. Did i forget to mention that lifesteal also applies to weapon abilites?
So. He's tanky, he has really long range, he has CC, he has a powerful root gap closer, sureley he's not mobile? Wrong. His ultimate is a low cooldown roll that makes him even stronger against skill-shotters, and allows him to combo his skills. Ouch.

Pros and Cons to Lance

Pros
Lance is unfathomably tanky. With the highest base HP, and highest armour and shield at level 1(not counting Joule's perk) and highest base weapon (he beat Koshka!) Lance is terrifying.
He can peel for himself and his own team.
Extremely hard to beat in teamfights, especially if he has allies that can chain a wombo combo.
He hits his powerspike really fast, and doesn't fall off too much late game.

Cons
Can put himself in a bad position when he misses his A.
Come on SEMC, give me more cons to write about this guy.
I mean I guess his auto attacks are slow? (That good enough?)

Item Breakdown

Serpent Mask

Serpent's Mask is so strong on Lance because of his AoE basic attacks, this allows him to regen alot of health while not taking a lot of damage back due to his tankyness.

Bonesaw

Although he gets decreased scaling from attack speed, his basic attacks allow him to shred multiple target's armour at once, making it a nice pick up for Lance.

Breaking Point

Lance can stay alive for a very long time so racking up plenty of stacks is no issue. I usually prefer this over Bonesaw when the enemy has little armour.

Fountain of Renewal

This allows Lance to get some nice rounded defence with a little bit of health, some armour and a nice chunk of shield. Not to meantion it helps him keep his allies alive.

Shiversteel

Lance's only real weakness is if he gets kited, but with long range basic attacks and a shiversteel ranged carries can say goodbye to staying alive. you can also use this to peel off sticky heroes like Krul from your allies.

Clockwork

Clockwork just makes you annoyingly, absurdly tanky. Like Catherine your abilities keep you and your allies alive, and constant knockbacks is extremely annoying to melee carries wanting to gobble up your ADC.

Atlas Pauldron

I prefer this over Metal Jacket as Metal Jacket is easily shredded by Bonesaw, and Atlas Pauldron directly counters attack speed items such as Bonesaw. Also, Metal Jacket has a really ugly icon.

Everything Else

You can really build what you want after Serpent's and Fountain. Just make sure to have a good chunk of defence and don't underestimate your tankiness.

Example Match Walkthrough

This is an example match where I go against a tough matchup in the jungle, but an easy matchup in the lane.

Sorry for skipping ahead but I didn't come up with the idea for making a guide until later on in the match. Anyway, you can see my standard beginning build and I chose to rush Fountain, ignoring boots because Skye (LY Azure) had a tough time against WP Skye and I wanted to support her more. Vox had no chance against my long range poke and healing so lane was relatively easy.

A little bit later on and I'm like ****, this WP Skye is still an issue. She's ganking me a lot and it's resulting in my team getting killed protecting me. I go into building armour, but realise she is building into a Bonesaw for attack speed to kite around me, so I go for an Oakheart aswell rather than T2 armour.

Rather than get a Bonesaw, I decide to counter both carries by getting an Atlas Pauldron, which will counter both of the enemy carry's high attack speed. However, we lack the burst to take them down when they're Atlas'd so it's not exactly a cakewalk.

I deal alot of damage to Skye and Vox, but I can't reach them and I'm just sitting stacks for both Broken Myth and Bonesaw. So I decide to build some attack speed into a Shiversteel so I can keep up.

After a few turrets and messy teamfights our teamwork pulls through. Keep in mind the only reason our team had slightly more gold than the enemy was because we managed to take turrets, so without turret gold in mind this match was still shockingly close.

the enemy was around skill tier 10/9. The enemy Vox added me and he was Vainglorious so I'm assuming the other two were PoA due to my team getting matched with them.

GG. :)
