Petal Adagio is the ultimate petal stopper, as long as you use your reflex block when she uses her ult, she will stay away from you for the whole game.
4
Ringo Although you have almost the same amount of damage output, outlast him with your health, beware of the achilles shot, it has a longer range.
5
Adagio Enemy Adagios are almost always crystal/support, you can almost always out damage them, however, watch out for the CP adagio's Gift of Fire and his Ult.
5
Skaarf With the new buff, avoid him in early game and give your heals to your teammates so they don't die as much, but you can easily kill him in late game
5
Ardan He can't really do much, just don't get stuck inside the gauntlet and you'll be fine, be sure to target him last as he will probably build a ton of health.
5
Vox WP vox in early game might be good but in late game, he can't do much.
6
SAW Both CP/WP SAW share the weakness of spin ups, when they try to use mad cannon, use reflex block, Gift of Fire, then Verse of Judgement to stun them, they will be too slow to move. You can get Crucible earlier if these guys are around.
6
Joule The new joule does a lot of damage with both thunder strike and BRB, you just need to dodge them and you're good
7
Glaive Predator Glaives that build weapon power can be very dangerous, always go for Dragonheart instead of Reflex Block when they are around and kite them.
8
Catherine Able to outlast you and stun you, always target her last. Remember to use your reflex block.
8
Skaarf Tank skaarf is a pain, take him out when your team is around.
8
Vox CP vox has a very high damage output but he has lower health and you should be able to take him down, be sure to target him first.
9
Koshka Koshka and Taka are similar, both of them are burst assassins, just remember to bring your mines with you and use reflex block.
9
Krul Being able to outlast you in a fight, outplay him with your team coordination.
9
Taka Taka's gap closing abilities and burst will easily counter your breaking point, be sure to have your team around when you're up against him.

This is my first guide

Having noticed the lack of Adagio guides and the frequency of AFK players, I've decided to make an Adagio build that can carry your team further.

NOTE: Even if you are using a carry build REMEMBER TO ALWAYS BE GENEROUS AND SUPPORT YOUR TEAMMATES

Adagio
Adagio is a powerful support mage whose heals also damage nearby enemies. He is often strongest near the centre of fights, and a well-timed ultimate can turn the tide of a match.

As you can see, the summary of Adagio tells you that he can heal and also do damage to nearby enemies, we are focusing on the damage part!

Abilities & Heroic Perk Top

Arcane Renewal
Adagio recharges energy whenever enemies burning with Arcane Fire take damage from any source.

Arcane Renewal is the perk that makes adagio a very good character, the reason that the only one energy recharge item is required is because of Adagio's perk. Adagio is like the other crystal heroes, his Gift of Fire is his main "Energy using ability" and his two other abilities also use a fair amount of energy. However, Adagio's Arcane Renewal combined with Gift of Fire can give Adagio a lot of energy if used properly.

Gift of Fire
Adagio heals a target ally and splashes Arcane Fire onto nearby enemies, dealing damage every second. If Adagio targets himself, he will also slow nearby enemies. Each ability point spent on Gift of Fire increases its healing power, burn damage and energy cost.

As mentioned above, Gift of Fire is the ability that, combined with Arcane Renewal makes Adagio a good character and refills his energy bar almost constantly.
NOTE: Always be generous with this ability because while you heal your teammates, you may be able to burn some other enemy minion or hero without realizing.

Agent of Wrath
Increases the basic attack of a target ally for several seconds. Deals additional damage to enemies burning with Arcane Fire. If Adagio targets himself, the bonus attack power is even greater. Each ability point spent on Agent of Wrath increases its attack power boost, burn damage and energy cost. Each point also accelerates its cooldown.

Agent of Wrath can help you beat an enemy hero in a fight, your damage gets greatly increased and combines with Serpent Mask and Breaking Point, this ability's effect will be amplified.
NOTE: This is another ability to be generous with, if you have a burst damage hero on your team, this could lead to many more successful assassinations/ambush/ganks.

Verse of Judgement
Adagio channels for 2 seconds then deals grievous damage to all enemies in a wide, rune-marked ring around him. Enemies burning with Arcane Fire are also stunned. Each ability point spent on Verse of Judgement increases its damage, stun duration and energy cost and accelerates its cooldown.

Verse of Judgement does a huge amount of damage to more than just one hero and can turn the tide of a battle. Remember to use your reflex block when you are channeling to avoid stuns and also try to use Gift of Fire to burn your enemies first before you use Verse of Judgement.

Strategy Top

NOTE: This is the way i prefer to use Adagio with this build, however, if you have another way and it works better, feel free to tell me and I will try to improve my build around that.

Base of Operation (this sounds epic doesn't it)
It's best to start in lane with this build, i've never tried jungling with this build except to get a bit of money to finish off an item in late game.

Laning
When you are facing heroes such as Ringo or Petal in early game, don't be afraid to annoy them with your Gift of Fire, but be sure to cast it on a minion and stay at a safe distance.

If the enemy is SAW, wait for the time when he uses Suppressing Fire and do as much damage as possible to him, then use Gift of Fire to force him to stay in the battle or run away by using Roadie Run , But don't try to 1v1 him unless he has low health cause he will destroy you when he's spun up.

If you're facing Vox, beware of his Sonic Zoom when he launches three sudden attacks (including the auto attack) and moves back and also his Resonance which he can use to bounce attacks and damage you, you can take advantage of his range and harass when there aren't any minions to bounce his attacks with.

Don't be too worried about your energy because your Arcane Renewal, Gift of Fire and later your Energy Battery will take care of that.

If you are afraid of over-extension, just go to the jungle shop when you are near the enemy turret.

Farming wise, there is no worry because your Gift of Fire will take care of most of the last hits if you don't hit them.

NOTE: You will be forced to go back to base when your two potions run out and your energy starts to get low, don't worry, call a teammate to avoid the complete obliteration of your turret and you're all good.

Kiting
You can try kiting if you want, I haven't tried it all that much but it isn't very difficult since your enemies are slowed by your Gift of Fire

Energy
Your energy may start to run low after you've used your first potion, just cast your Gift of Fire in the middle of the crowd and you'll be alright.

Healing
Healing your teammates is very important, however, you need to stay alive or there is no one to heal them. I usually heal my teammates first unless I'm in imminent danger, your role is protector after all.

Enemy Heroes Top

Ringo's Double Down can be very annoying.

SAW may try to hit you with Roadie Run and use the bounce back to escape.

Glaive's Afterburn is a worry for both you and your teammates, so use the "avoid" to warn your teammates.

Catherine and Koshka's stuns are deadly when you are channeling and over extending to destroy the enemy turret, make sure to have your Reflex Block ready as soon as you get your Verse of Judgement and also be aware of their location on the minimap.

DO NOT FIGHT WITH Krul, this build outdamages your enemies in the long run but Krul is the specialist of long fights with his Spectral Smite

Taka and Koshka's burst damage is dangerous, beware.

Joule after the new update is very annoying, you need to kite and dodge the Thunder Strikes

Always target the tank last, and if it's Catherine, wait for her shield to go down before attacking.

NOTE: if the enemy Catherine is near your turret and her shield is up, attack her once to get the bounce damage from her shield which will make your turret attack her and force all the enemy heroes out.

Build Breakdown Top

Start
Starting out with Swift Shooter and two Halcyon Potion, your goal is to farm as much as possible to build towards your first third tier using the Swift Shooter.

First Back
Now you will be working towards your first third-tier item and picking up a few utilities along the way, you will need Ironguard Contract, Oakheart and Sprint Boots.
Be sure to have your Oakheart and your Sprint Boots before you upgrade to Blazing Salvo

Early Game
Save up your gold so you can buy Breaking Point, Weapon Blade and Swift Shooter in one trip, then, buy Reflex Block
NOTE: its preferred to buy your Reflex Block early if you are planning on using your Verse of Judgement.

Early Mid
If you couldn't complete Breaking Point finish it now and farm for a bit to save up the gold for Blazing Salvo and Piercing Spear for the Bonesaw
Upgrade your Ironguard Contract to Stormguard Banner

Mid Game
Upgrade to Bonesaw and grab your tier two boots, the Book of Eulogies will help you stay in battle but it will be even better if you can get Barbed Needle.

Mid Late
Upgrade your Reflex Block to a Crucible and save up for the Serpent Mask.
Also Upgrade your Stormguard Banner to a Contraption.
NOTE: Upgrade your Contraption before you upgrade to a Crucible.

Final Build
Finish your build, if you can't, don't bother farming and go in team fights with your teammates. You can get a Weapon Infusion before you get your Journey Boots to wrap up the game if you want.

Situational Items
The Dragonheart is for when your enemies have high sustainable attack such as Glaive or tanky Adagio or SAW, the Dragonheart helps you stay longer in the fight and ultimately beating them or luring them into a gank.

You can use the Warhorn instead of the Crucible if someone in your team built the Crucible.

You can purchase Eve of Harvest if you feel like that you need a bit more health regen, note that the Eve of Harvest also gives you energy regen.

Clockwork is a good choice if you want to use your abilities more.

Scout Trap and Flare Gun are always important for your team to have a better position than the enemy team.

The Scout Trap should be placed in positions where it will grant you the vision of the bush but difficult for the enemy team to trigger, I've done this for almost all of my games and if you place your mines at the right position, it will almost last for the whole game.
NOTE: Here is a place were you can learn about Scout Trap placement http://www.vaingloryfire.com/vainglory/guide/its-a-trap-a-guide-to-scout-traps-and-where-to-place-them-53

The Flare Gun is mainly for countering Taka but you can also use it to counter ganks and enemy team stealing the gold mine.

THANK YOU FOR READING Top

If you have any suggestions please tell me, this is my first guide so it's not very good, but i will be updating

And a big thank you to my friend JJJJ who gave me the idea of this build
