Great guide. I would love to see this updated to support the latest version of VG.

Is this still viable or outdated?

Agreed, WP Glaive can be formidable. I usually build towards crit damage and attack speed if I go WP. So Tyrant's Monocle, Tornado Trigger, then depending on the situation go for Serpent's Mask/Bonesaw/Alternating Current or if you keep getting burst down go for Tension Bow and Crucible. By the end your attack speed is through the roof, crit damage is frightening (along with AoE), you have life steal, and tons of energy.

I love this build, but I'd like to be able to play weapon power instead of crystal when the rest of my team goes blue. What are your thoughts?

Great guide, and very nice write up. Best I have seen yet! I just figured this build out on my own after getting demolished by someone who was using this style of play last week. I was pure WP Glaive before and stuck on decentish (now pretty good, yay!). However, I have had a hard time winning with warhorn, so I just do a good ole fashioned sorrow blade every time, then like you, I tank it up with a mixture of 3 defensive items depending on the circumstance(I have little luck with atlas puldron though), also clockwork and boots...I have noticed lately that if my entire team gets crucibles we are tough to beat...if my teammates both don't get one I will get two and use it for them when needed. I figure armor on me doesn't help them, so I like the higher hp and ally protection.

I recommend starting a nerf account too, it frees you up to try different styles, builds and characters. It made me a much better player since I wasn't afraid to experiment...

Glaive is great because you can go tanky or change it up mid-game and add WP juice if needed. The challenge is having a feel for what is needed in a particular game and knowing what items work against which characters with different builds...

Just wanted to say thank you. I have been playing VG for a few months now and had somewhere around 400 wins but couldn't put together enough wins to break past Pretty Good and after a particularly bad losing streak which took me down to Decent-ish I came to the forum for some new ideas. I like trying different characters (and I do not use a Smurf account) and consider myself proficient on most of the characters but I do have a preference for going full on WP Glaive which works a lot of the time. Two days after reading this build I made it to the Hotness. Think I only lost one or two matches and at least one of those with Arden, not Glaive. Great stuff, thanks.

It's hard to cancel Catherine's Ult, Blast Tremor, because its windup isn't obvious like the Ultimates of the heroes mentioned in the Disruption chapter. It'd be great to stop her Ult though, since it saves your whole team from being silenced. If Catherine is a threat solely due to Blast Tremor, then a super-lucky/skilled Afterburn, then her difficulty is able to be lowered for a brief time.

Thx. Great info. I've played Glaive, but never with the precision & purpose of your guide. Happy Hunting...

Aside from a few misused instances of "it's", this is very well written. While I have never used this hero (though I unlocked him) I appreciate the thoughtful and in-depth look at this play style.
