Hey my name is BarneyBear and thanks for checking out my guide. I am new to vainglory (just hotness gold) but I am playing much and this game got me hooked. Glaive is a great hero and he can 1 vs 2 easily when right build. This is my first guide and I hope i can help you win your games.
Early game lvl 1-6 Top
As glaive you need to farm very heavily before youre able to carry your team. Early game is due to extreme low damage a pain. Dont try to engage enemies who are good in early game:
, Fortess and
Dont use afterburn in early game, this should be your escape (you ofcourse can use it on enemy's who are kiting you). When facing Taka/Ringo up some armor early game so he cant burst you down too quick. You have to sustain before you can dish out your damage so damage reduction is always a must have.
In the latest update 1.9 its best to farm on the top camp first and go down. Not only you have an advantage on your enemies if they dont take your bottom camp first, youll have the first shop so you are able to bully away any enemy who will try to shop. Farming is very important when playing glaive so ganking should only be done when absolutely needed (
is trying to burn your turret down when he pushed his minions into your turret). When the enemy decides its a good idea to gank all the time, take that time while they're away to farm up in the enemy jungle. Your Afterburn will be enough to get away when your losing the jungle invade.( if you have an Ardan in your team who likes to hang around too long, afterburn out but stay close enough to let the Ardan use his
) on you to slip away.
Midgame lvl 6-10 Top
Midgame should still be building and avoiding fights. In this stage you'll get the item which shines in this build:
. Along with
youll have extreme survivability but only if youre not getting focused or you have enough survivability to let the breaking point stacks kick in. Engage only when you confident youre gonna win. Ganking should become more and more an objective so dont be scared to wait a few moments before punching the enemy laner back, because landing a succesfull punch and stun is more important then being back earlier to farm. When enemy jungler and support are ganking while youre ganking its almost always wise to hold your position and defend rather then engaging. This not guarantees a succesfull punch, it will also bring you closer to the enemy laner.
Late game lvl 10-12 Top
Time to shine and kill. 1 vs 1 you'll be winning (maybe even against krul), 2 vs 1 and maybe 3 vs 1. Avoid using bloodsong for the extra lifesteal. Killing time!!! Getting caught alone will probably still be a loss, you'll need another teammate to either disrupt enemies or let them take hits. Turrets and kraken wont be easy to capture because your base damage without Breaking Point stacks are pathetic.
This build has great capability of being a big treat to the enemy team. Most teams will focus your sniper/mage first and ignore you. In that time they're killing you sniper/mage you'll have some stacks of Breaking point (5-10) depends on you sniper/mage (how much survivability he/she has, enemy taka will shred your laner anytime of the day so pay some attention to see how your laner is doing). This will almost secure that you'll get atleast 2 kills. Focus their damage dealer first. If their major damage dealer is too slippery for you consider taking a
. Watch out when the enemy team is building armor. Dont use your bloodsong too quickly because the lifesteal of it is better then the amount of damage dealt (I use it as a finisher)
