Versatile Glave Top
This is my first guide with my favorite toon to play so far. I plan on keeping this guide up to date as changes happen so look back for more!
Glaive is one of the most bursty characters in the game, and I think with his natural ability to crit and focus on basic attacks most people overlook his crystal path and instead go crazy building Tornado Triggers.
Realistically after the first Tornado trigger and Tyrant's Monicle you are basically wasting any extra crit percentage (you are naturally going to be at 85% with these items and your special). So to instead maximize your attack speed and DPS I typically build Alternating Current. You are loosing 10% percent speed and 20% crit damage but instead gaining the versatility of additional crystal power damage on your basic attacks and an increase in damage to your Afterburn abilities.
Overall you are going to have slightly less damage if you get into fights where you are standing still and auto attacking, but have more utility on ganks and against heavy armor targets. Glaive also has massive sustain because he automatically heals because of his bloodsong, which makes him a very potent jungler.
Before Level 6 Top
You can play jungle or roam, but do not get overzealous. Your goal is not to be too aggressive at all but to get to level 6. Gank if it's safe but don't take risks because you can get blasted if your not careful. Once you are at 6 bloodsong gives you life steal and that is when you can start getting crazy.
I usually only prioritize boots if my opponent is playing very fast assassins like Taka. Most everyone else you can Afterburn away from, better to focus on DPS. Armors are an option if you feel yourself under constant pressure, but better to wait till you know your opponents builds.
After Level 6 Top
Once you have bloodsong, it is time to start building your big items. Typically I go for Tyrants Monocle first because it gives you reliable Crits which also give you bigger heals. If you go Tornado trigger first it can leave your life gain a bit meh, but it may be the proper build if you find yourself running to lane to clear waves a lot.
After that I usually go Alternating Current to start rounding off the damage. You'll be attacking silly fast at this point and most will be crits, so consider moving to the lane where you can wipe out minion waves pretty quickly and eat turrets.
What you build next really depends on who you face from now until end game. You'll want armor if you are facing a lot of ranged attackers like ringo, bonesaw against tanks like Lance, and Serpent mask and Breaking point for anyone you need to sustain against, which is typically Krull but thats likely a match you don't want 1v1.
I've done this build as a total tank in the past, forgoing boots completely and going for armors, and using afterburn as the replacement. I wouldn't recommend this unless your opponents team is mostly slower tanks like Lance and Phinn, because you usually need the burst speed to get your aftershock target unless you banged them into a wall.
