Early Game Description Top
In the early game,
Skaarf will excel in both the jungle AND lane if played properly. Pushing your enemy's healing camp is essential. It will supplement your halcyon potion and allow you to push the enemy out of their own jungle. As soon as you're level 2, you can go in for a quick lane gank. You'll want to focus on the lane while controlling the enemy brush in the center of the lane and the healing camps.
The key to these early game kills is Skaarf's heroic perk: fan the flames. You'll want to anticipate the enemy's escape and kite accordingly.
NOTE: THIS BUILD WAS RENDERED USELESS WITH THE SKAARF REBALANCING SEEN WITH THE RELEASE OF ARDAN.
Mid-Game / Alternative Mid-Game Top
Around lvl5-6, you'll start to feel the energy depletion. If so, you can buy a 300g
battery. From there, you'll want to build weapon attack speed and boots. This will allow you to stick to enemies and make the most out of your heroic perk.
ALTERNATIVE:
If you feel like you're doing a reasonable job at keeping the enemy out of their own jungle and section of the lane, you can invest in
Warhorn. This will accelerate farming, taking down minion mines, and be a temporary substitution for boots (just keep in mind that you'll be building both). If I can convince someone on my team to accompany me into the enemy jungle, Always build war horn before weapon speed. I find myself using this route more often.
'Late'-Game Top
This is where you'll want to invest heavily in weapon attack speed.
Tornado trigger will allow for much more efficient kiting. If you've invested in warhorn, you'll blaze through enemy turrets with this newfound weapon attack speed. Around the 9-12 minute mark, you'll be able to make tremendous pushes on the lane. If you've been playing aggressively, you should be 2-3 levels above your opponents before the final push into the enemy camp.
Leftover gold can be spent on consumables or weapon attack to help with that final push. If the game drags on, you can invest in an aftershock.
Closing remarks Top
This build does exceptionally well when done in conjunction with a friendly Taka or another character who excels mid-game. But especially with
Taka. In order to counter Taka, enemies will have to invest heavily in HP or Shield. But because of Skaarf's heroic, this added line of defense will do little to nothing against you.
As soon as
koshka and
Taka reach level6,
Skaarf will be at a major disadvantage. In order to counter them, I recommend building
Shiversteel before boots. It will help you survive the initial skill onslaught and slow them down when they try to run.
Enemy
Petals are not your friend. As most of your damage comes from Fan the Flames, enemy Petals are particularly effective against this build. A missed/blocked fireball will prompt an attack from petal.
Enemy
SAWs are laughable. Skaarf is already a hard counter for spun up SAW, but this build will capitalize on the difference in movement speed even more than crystal or weapon attack Skaarf.
I will try to post scores and such if I find the time. If your IGN pops up and you wish to have the picture taken down, I'll remove it immediately.
