Let's face it, the new guy to the Fold has quite a few strategies, from WP to CP, you never know what this guy will pull out of his hat. So here's a few ways I found out on how to make this guy a pure killer.
Many people start out getting his perk unlocked (or both for some) but you're not doing that here. "But Urza, you just don't get it, he can't live without his divergent paths being online!" He can and will. You're a glass cannon of death by becoming a glass vampire cannon.
First things first, here's the final build.
Serpents Mask, Sorrowblade, Boots (typically Journey but Chargers work in some situations), Aegis or Metal Jacket. For secondary weapons, choose between Tornado Trigger, Breaking point and then Tyrants Monocle, Bonesaw.
Here's the scoop. Start off in the lane with a Blade and Book. Don't engage your enemy as his low defense and easy gank can ruin your early game. With good timing, your chakram can get you easy gold, while you get good health back per minion kill.
Next, build Sprint Boots, but by the time the shops load, that's it. Get a Potion or two if you want increased longevity, but you want that Mask pronto. Now, you get to that point and you have the Mask, so work on the Sorrowblade. If, and only if, you're finding your defenses (or teammates, hahahahahahaha*hauled away*) lacking, work on the equipment to counter that particular threat. Most of the time it will be the Aegis, but there may be times when the Jacket does better and you don't need the Reflex Block. By the time minute 10 rolls around, you should already have the tier 1 boots, the Mask and the Sorrowblade.
This is where it gets tricky. Usually at this point, you're either flying high because you've killed many people, or you've been getting your face kicked in. If it's the former, move onto your speed item and then defense. If it's the other way, consider only building one more item for damage and obtaining, in addition to Aegis/Jacket, a Slumbering Husk. This thing was almost made for Idris.
Either way, stick with your team only going to lane if a turret is threatened by a mass amount of minions or enemy heroes. You should be trying to lock down that Ace, and by minute 15 you should be at level 12, 11 if the PVP fights haven't occurred often.
Never chase with your ultimate. Shimmer Strike may cool down fast with the right build, but it's not an instant event and you'll likely die if an enemy carts you off while you are attached to them.
If all has gone even somewhat well, your ability to steal health should make you a tank of sorts and be able to fight off many enemies. Hope you liked this guide and let me know what you think!
