Introduction Top
When 2.0 came out I was instantly drawn to Idris. But because I didn't want to buy ice to purchase him and because he wasn't on the free hero rotation I only could use him in practice mode. During 2.0 I mostly toyed around with a dual path Idris. When 2.1 rolled around I bought a rare mystery chest with the ice I had saved up; I got Rare "Star Queen Celeste" and another mystery key. So in my second chest I got Idris. I jumped into some matches. After a few games I ditched my dual path and went with the more laner based crystal path.
Though after playing a few more games I found myself constantly being killed by WP Idris. So I began trying to play WP Idris. After toying around with a few different builds I felt confident in this one.
How to Use Your Kit Top
Shroudstep
Shroudstep
This is your blink. It allows you to do three important things.
1: Go through walls. Being able to escape through walls is a very useful combat trick that will save your life. It also helps when ambushing the enemy carry.
2. The bonuses. After using
Shroudstep you get fortified health and a crit. The health will save your life. The crit will deal so much damage to an enemy and will initiate team fights.
3. Escape. Just blink away. Enemy hero on your tail? Blink away. Makes you so much more mobile.
Chakram
Chakram
This is the main ability of Idris' kit. It deals tons of damage plus it has range. With practice this is your best ability by far. Try chaining it with
Shimmer Strike and
Shroudstep.
Shimmer Strike
Shimmer Strike
This is your ultimate. Use it ONLY when needed. Some uses are:
Dodging huge abilities like Baron's ultimate.
Jumping on a cluster of enemies.
Locking down a single target.
Chakram combos.
Hitching a ride back to base(just kidding don't do this one recall on you're own)
Why WP Idris is Better Than CP Idris Top
Four GOOD reasons WP Idris is the best
1. The blink. Blinking is soooooooo much better than rolling. It is faster and it enables incredible stickiness.
2. The regen. When WP Idris attacks his stamina regenerates!!!. Which means A). More abilities. B). More damage from your more frequent abilities. C). No more dying because your blink is on cooldown.
3. You don't need the ranged basic attacks. Idris' ranged basics don't make much of a difference as seeing that you can just use
Chakram which has a low cooldown with WP as a ranged attack. And if you really just love the range so much; PLAY A RANGED CHARACTER!!!!!
4. Damage. If the other three reasons weren't good enough. Your basic attack damage is higher for the most part with WP than CP.
Playing Idris Top
5 Steps to playing Idris
Step One
You need to jungle well. Get as much farm as possible and you will be rewarded with an item and level advantage.
Step Two
Bully the laner. Every once and a while go up to lane and try to kill the opposing laner. Do not chase under the turret unless you have backup.
Step Three
Be aggressive. If you catch an off guard enemy, kill them. However if you are too aggressive you will die. Do not 1 vs. 2 enemies unless they are both low health.
Step Four
In a fight you have to jump onto the enemy back line throw some chakrams and try to kill as many of them as possible. It won't be pretty but it'll get the job done. In almost every situation go for the carry first then the captain.
Step Five
You need to know how to chain
Chakram with
Shroudstep and
Shimmer Strike. This will help you farm better, deal more damage, and it also looks super cool.
