Threat Hero Notes

  No Threat
2
Phinn Slow = simple. Don't target him though, after his team is dead he can't run anyway.
3
Alpha Alpha is interesting, as long as you don't get caught by her ult you should be fine. Her B is only strong is she can sustain hitting you.
3
Celeste Your sister is very easy if you get on top of her and apply resonance. You are too hard to hit with heliogenisis for she is very squashy to your high WP Don't let her poke you! But remember to only dive onto her if it is safe, and her team a preferably busy wi something else.
4
Joule Pretty preditable, stay away from that ult and you should be fine. Joules A ability of don't want to mess with though. If she keeps on jumping onto you pick up reflex block to get rid of that problem.
4
Kestrel Either engage or stay away to avoid getting glimmershots poking you. You should be able to burst her down easily. Stay out of the mist and don't give her the chance to go invisible! Apply pressure when she is out of glimmershots.
4
Skaarf Be an annoying Vox, dodge the spitfires with sonic zoom. I pick up travel boots sooner if I am versing him, that way it is easier to dodge his attacks Skaarf is very squishy, if he isn't burning you then you can mow him down in seconds.
4
Vox Hey it's you! You have the better builds for 1v1. Take that kid out. WP beats CP any day for 1v1 fights. So if you know that the enemy team is away somewhere else dont be afraid to take him out. Do remember that if he is going CP, avoid going into a cluster with your allies. Vox is squishy so burst him down.
5
Fortress CP Fort has high burst with his A and B. Build sheild as he will leap onto you during battle and focus you. Then his abilities and weak and he is dog on the barbecue! Actually that's gross..
5
Petal Try to get your whole team to dive onto her. When you are next to her she is every easy but from afar she will chomp you down with frostburn slow, or build broken myth stacks.
5
SAW Have everybody collapse onto him, very easy that way. If SAW has full stacks don't even consider trying to 1v1. When he has low stacks or is using suppressing fire, launch a couple of quick attacks with A onto him. He will get hurt more than you. Remember though. if SAW is going CP you can take him simple, but if you have low health stay away as one shank will end you.
6
Koshka Early game she is dangerous but late game you are. Focus her down and buy sheild.
6
Krul Krul is actually easier than you think. Quickly apply resonance to slow, then spam sonic zoom to stay well out of range of those weakness stacks. Krul might buy a shiversteel. When he does that you do become very vulnerable, just keep doing as you would usually with the kiting. Make full use of sonic zooms agility.
6
Reim Reim is exactly the same as Krul, stay well out of reach and make sure to spam sonic zoom so Reim can't slow you with his perk.
6
Skye Stay out of forward barrage with sonic zoom. That is all there is to it. Move between each basic attack to stay out of forward barrage then she is yours easy.
7
Blackfeather Blackfeather will most likely dive into the backline onto you, apply resonance and hit him while he can't reach you. While laning don't under estimate! Just because he is a melee doesn't mean he is easy to cope with. Dodge his by and poke constantly to drive him away.
7
Glaive Reflex block! That afterburn is lethal! Make sure to block the after burn to avoid get get knocked into a position you don't want. Glaive finds it hard to catch you, keep your range and ensure not to get too close.
7
Taka Build some sheild up and hit him whenever you can. Use pulse to see where he goes when he hides like a coward under his box. That way your team for annihilate their other carry while taka is healing under his box.
8
Adagio Roam Adagios aren't an issue, counting that they haven't build any CP. Crystal Adagios you should stay onto your side of the battlefield out of reach, the enemys other carry will be buffs and you just need to poke around using sonic zoom to neatly kite. In a 1v1 he is easy.
8
Ringo I have discovered he is your most worthy foe, the upper hand you have is quick burst with your A. In team fights target their jungler unless your whole team is diving him.
9
  No Threat
10
Corpus Too OP, just run.

Lets Get Into It!

The Hero Himself Top

Vox Is Bae
Vox is a mobile sniper with a high-energy play style, able to quickly and frequently dash around the battlefield. Vox deals significant damage either to a single target or to groups of enemies depending on his build. This flexibility allows Vox to react according to the needs of his team.

Heroic Perk
Julia's Song
Vox's basic attacks also deal 34-65 (level 1-12) +35% of his crystal power as bonus damage. When attacking enemies with Resonance, this damage with bounce to two nearby enemies and will refresh Resonance on that target.

Basically when you have applied Resonance to a target and you hit them, the crystal portion of your basic attacks will bounce off and hit the nearest two enemies (that prioritises heroes!) The crystal portion does also hit your main target enemy. No weapon damage bounces.
Resonance stays on the main target you hit (no longer stays on everyone).

In this build Resonance is not used as much as crystal builds, but we can still make use of it! I use this to apply pressure on the lane. When you come across a hero such as Ringo or Kestrel that have more range, poke them by applimg resonance onto a minion with Pulse and sending bounce damage to nearby heroes. Wave clear in the lane is also much faster with the use of resonance.

Vox's Abilities Top

Sonic Zoom
Vox dashes in the targeted direction, throwing two basic attacks to the nearest enemy marked by Resonance (prioritising heroes).

Overdrive: Vox's basic attacks gain an additional 20% weapon ratio for the next two seconds after this ability is activated.

Sonic Zoom can jump over some walls, making for great escapes or chases. When trying to use sonic Zoom through a wall it tends to be quite buggy. On the map below I have marked out exactly what walls can be jumped over.

- A plain line means you can jump both ways.
- Arrows point towards the only direction you can go.
- Pink circles shows the more reliable jumps.

This is a very powerful ability because it has a load of uses!
Sonic Zoom throws 2 basic attacks at the nearest enemy marked with resonance, since the attacks are counted as basic attacks it pairs nicely with weapon builds. You can fit 4 attacks in a small period of time by simply;

1. Attack the target (1 hit)
2. Activate Sonic Zoom (2 hits) As of 1.1.5, no longer resets basic attack cooldown :(
3. Land another hit (1 hit)
That is 4 attacks in about a second! By doing this with Bonesaw, you can shred 28% of the targets armor! That is why I tend to like using Bonesaw] over Breaking Point or Tornado Trigger.

Sonic Zoom also if very effective to dance around the battlefield, you can juke opponents by suddenly teleporting to a new position. When chasing, use Sonic Zoom to steadily catch up to fleeing enemies, and while running away, Sonic Zoom turns into a very effective kiting tool. You can run whilst hitting the enemy as-well!

Sonic Zoom can be used to get out of dangerous territiory, like out of Red Mist or infront of Afterburn. Yes Sonic Zoom speeds up your move speed if you exucute the transition between running and using the ability smoothly.

Pulse
Vox emits a sonic pulse that echoes off nearby enemies and applies Resonance. The pulse applies a slow that is significantly stronger near its center. Each upgrade to Pulse increases the damage of Vox's bouncing attacks to enemy heroes.

Pulse releases a wide circle that applies resonance and slows any enemy inside.

Pulse reveals any enemy by showing a circle around them when the pulse hits them, even Taka and Kestrel will be shown! So make sure that is you suspect enemies in a brush, use Pulse before face-checking a bush!

When running or chasing (whatever you are up to!) use the slow to keep enemies where you want them. Make sure to not waste this ability though, or else you will be without Resonance until the cooldown is up!
When going weapon, Pulse is the last priority for upgrading, As upgrading increases bounce damage which we don't really care about.

Wait For It...
Vox fires an ultrasonic wave that damages, silences, and applies Resonance to enemies in its path. Shortly after, a wide shockwave explodes along the same path, dealing damage again and triggering Resonance to bounce from affected targets.

Wait for It silences and applies resonance in a line then follows with a blast of damage.

The most effective way to use this is hitting multiple enemies at once, triggering a chain reaction of Resonance. Make sure to max Wait for It to get the reduced cool down and extra damage.

Crystal builds can use the ultimate far more effectivly with bounce damage but weapon builds can still make use of the 0.7 second silence, with extraordinary timing you can stop any ability from being used! Such as Big Red Button, Gauntlet or Solar Storm.

Make sure to not use Pulse at around the same time, both abilities are used to apply Resonance, so instead make sure to use your A and B at different times.

Open a 3v3 with Wait for It, quickly follow up with Sonic Zoom then dance around with basic attacks, use Pulse when the Resonance has faded off.

oah dude

Item Explanation Top

Sorrowblade

Sorrowblade is the always your first finished item/tier 3 item. Make sure that you have a blazing salvo and sprint boots before or at the same time as buying Sorrowblade.

Sorrowblade is picked up becasue it is your main core item to dealing damage. Sorrow blade gives +150 weapon damage, which is a great base amount of damage. Sorrowblade damage also can be stretched and worked with, for example, critical damage with Tyrant's Monocle, building stacks faster with Breaking Point or more lifesteal with Serpent Mask.

Bonesaw

Bonesaw is potentially your second tier 3 item, Breaking Point being the other option. Bonesaw should be bought if the enemy is building armor up, even if it is just a Coat of Plates, get Bonesaw because that will turn into Metal Jacket or Atlas Pauldron.

Bonesaw is an item that you want early or in the middle of the game. It shreds 7% of your targets armor (max of 7 stacks). This passive pairs very nicely with Sonic Zoom as the two attacks also shred armor. Bonesaw also gives +50% attack speed which is great for stuttering and applying on hit effects. I recommend Bonesaw over Tyrant's Monocle of you are stuck between the 2.

Tyrant's Monocle

Tyrant's Monocle is also potentially your 2nd tier 3 pickup, that you get before Bonesaw if the enemy is showing no signs of building armor. Tyrant's Monocle is great for early game damage, turning the 150 Sorrowblade damage into 225 damage on a critical.

Tyrant's Monocle is very scary, your basic attacks will all of a sudden annihilate the enemy (especially if they have no armor!) If the enemy are building armor, get Bonesaw first, then potentially some defence and then you can buy Tyrant's Monocle. It is very bursty, and wont let you down :)

Journey Boots

Boots are very important in any Vox build, it even says in his bio; Vox is a mobile sniper with a high-energy play style, able to quickly and frequently dash around the battlefield... and to be mobile you need to be fast!

Get Sprint Boots at your first shop, to immediately be able to dart around fast, which helps with chasing fleeing enemies, running from danger, or quickly jumping in and out for that minion kill. Upgrade to Travel Boots after buying Sorrowblade because this is when major team fights start to take shape.
Only get Journey Boots when the rest of your items are finished.

Aegis

Aegis is a strong defensive item to counter the enemy building crystal power. Build kinetic sheild after Sorrowblade if you see a hero going crystal that will most likely target you. these are heroes like CP Fortress, Skye, Alpha, Koshka and Taka.

I recommend completing kinetic sheild into Aegis after completing 2 full weapon items. That is a basic time to get Aegis, it will depend on wether you are getting killed fast by cp heroes (build aegis slightly sooner) or dominting foes easily (finish Aegis later).

Metal Jacket

Exactly the same as Aegis above, except build if the enemy threat is going weapon powerI like to build Metal Jacket instead of Atlas Pauldron even if the opposition has Krul because you are not going to be right next to the fast-hitting hero! You dance are kite on the back lines, not up in the middle where Atlas is used.

Complete Coat of Plates into Metal Jacket after completing your first 2 full weapon items. That's about time to get a Metal Jacket, it will depend on wether you are getting killed fast by WP heroes (build Metal Jacket sooner) or easily winning fights (finish Metal Jacket slightly later).

Serpent Mask

For your last item, you can choose wether you need some more defence or not. If you don't you pick between Breaking Point and Serpent Mask Build a Serpent Mask if the team fights are short and people are dying quite fast, and have gone for more aggressive builds than defensive.

Serpent Mask will increase your basic attack damage, and grant you life-steal. You probably are thinking that you would like this item earlier, go ahead and try! I prefer to go for brute damage to kill the enemy faster will extra burst. Serpent Mask is great for keeping you alive longer in fights.

Breaking Point

For your last item, choose wether you need some more defence or not. If you don't need defence you pick between Breaking Point and Serpent Mask. Breaking Point is bought if everybody has built more defence and the fights go for a long time.

Breaking Point becomes extremely powerful over long battles, that is why you get it over Serpent Mask if the fights go on for a while. You get 10 extra weapn power for every 125 damage dealt (+5 damage needed for each stack there after). By the end of a long fight, if you have stayed alive for long enough, you damage will be insane!

Fountain Of Renewal

Takes this as you last item if the enemy is going full CP and you already have an Aegis. Also you may want to get Fountain to help teammates that keep dying on you.

If the opposition have built weapon and crystal, finish both Aegis and Metal Jacket, not Fountain. This item I rarely pick up but it could still be the best option for you and your team.

Team Player Top

Good Vox Compositions

Protectors:

The best protecter for me I have found out is your daddy Ardan
Ardan is very useful for getting you away from danger, and shielding you. Vanguard grants you a speed boosts and sheild, great for escaping with and chasing. Gauntlet Is amazing! You can attack oppositions from outside the ring without them touching you!

In a draft, I definitely recommend Ardan being your teams for pick.

Jungle Carries:
Reim is a very effective team mate, firstly I feel that Reim is OP, he deals a ton of damage and uses that damage to gain fortified health keeping him alive. With Vox he can slow and root opponets, keeping them away from you. Also the fact the Reim deals so much damage and is so in-your-face, the enemy might try to all take him out, leaving you a golden opportunity to kill them.

Taka I have found to work well, the burst damage combined with him is huge! This comp if string at diving straight at the enemies main damage dealer and forcing them to run, heal or die. Taka draws a lot of attention to himself, and he will take a lot of damage, when he uses Kaku (under his box) the enemy will target you. When this happens just play defensive and run away a bit, then when Taka is ready, hit the enemy with another round of burst.

Skye and yourself create a new type of fight, you two stay at the edge kiting and throwing masses of damage at enemies trying to get on top of you. Using Forward Barrage and Sonic Zoom together make chasing enemies immediately turn and run. Thats when Vox and Skye both can hunt that hero down and easily take them down.

Other Strong Heroes To Work With Are:

Celeste - Fortress - Phinn - Koshka - Alpha
But you can seriously make it work with any hero
