Rush
Stormguard Banner and try to get it by the 7 min mark. Then grab an
Energy Battery so that you can use your abilities consistently without getting drained.
I then get
Sprint Boots but you can also get them as your first item after the start. Extra mobility is always nice early on.
Next get a
Heavy Prism which will become
Eve of Harvest later on. Once I have
Heavy Prism and Glaive's ult (at level 6), I find that ganking lane is very successful with help from the laner.
Typically, I like to get an
Eve of Harvest pretty soon like around the 10 min mark, maybe even before
Chronograph. The lifesteal from Eve can keep you alive a lot of times in early game teamfights as long as you space out your abilities.
Next grab Warhorn. Towards the late game I get
Aftershock which really helps with burst and provides more cooldown acceleration on top of CDA from Warhorn.
To further boost your damage, you should get a
Piercing Shard, as Glaive's abilities already have high ability damage and benefit from shield pierce, especially if the enemy has built shield.
I like to keep a slot open for flares and such towards the late game, however timely cash-ins from objectives should be used to build towards a
Shatterglass which will further increase your burst damage. If not a Shatterglass, you should get a defense to counter the enemy builds.
Overall, this Glaive crystal build has a lot of early to mid ganking potential and focuses on fast cooldowns. While WP Glaive will outdamage you in a teamfight, he is easily countered by
Atlas Pauldron's debuff and doesn't have enough mobility to counter ranged damage. CP Glaive bursts faster than the Atlas's debuff will be able to counter and has enough cooldown on A ability to really abuse its use as an escape and strong stun tool. CP Glaive is really fun if you prefer leaping out of bushes and annihilating enemies quickly and becomes even more viable when it is melded with tanky items like
Crucible and
Atlas Pauldron.
