Adagio Bruh... Just get a [[crucible]]
2
  No Threat
3
SAW You can break down [[SAW]] pretty easy if you hit him with [[blood for blood]] to close the gap between you and him then use [[atlas pauldron]] to ruin his attack speed.
3
Skaarf Just try to make sure he doesn't stick to your team mates. You can body check fireballs if needed.
4
  No Threat
5
Phinn [[Phinn]] can move you away from your team or your team mates away from you. Bad scenario.
5
Catherine [[Cathrine]] has a tricky skill set to fight against, but you definitely want to save her for last in a team fight. Just don't use abilities on her when her shield's up, so you don't accidentally kill your team mates.
5
Joule Watch for those surprise stuns and make sure to defend against those lasers!
6
  No Threat
7
Taka [[Taka]] is mainly a threat to your allies, not to yourself. He can pop in, take out your carry, then disappear, all while laughing at your efforts to protect them.
8
  No Threat
9
Krul Krul is always bad news for any melee based character, especially the supports. [[atlas pauldron]] can help take him down, but you should avoid fighting him alone unless necessary.

  No Threat

Starting the match Top

After the match starts, I usually do a smiley ping or two for good luck. Once the giggles are out of the way I'll grab an Ironguard Contract and a Scout Trap. You can pick either one of his two available skills at the start of the match, I'll get Vanguard if my jungle team mate is slow, or I'll get Blood for Blood if I want more damage. Then my team mate and I start from the jungle camp by the jungle shop and work our way backwards farming. Place the scout trap somewhere in your bush by the jungle shop somewhere where it won't get stepped on, but will still let you know if the enemy wants to ambush or steal your camps.

First items Top

After your first lap or two around the jungle, it's time to do some shopping. I like to start with a Flare and a Scout Trap, then flare the enemy bush and scout trap it if it's empty. After that I'll get an Oakheart and some basic boots. You want to get a Stormguard Banner and a life spring as soon as possible, since they both provide health re-gen and you will be able to farm quicker and last longer.

Mid game Top

It's always wise to get a Fountain of Renewal as quickly as possible. It will be your best friend. Your mid game items should look something like Travel Boots stormguard contract Fountain of Renewal Dragonheart and Reflex Block since at this point you can either get the Crucible first or warhorn first depending on the situation. You should also be getting yourself some armor and working for that Atlas Pauldron if you're having to deal with a strong weapon carry or a Taka.

General Ardan gameplay Top

Ardan has an excellent set of skills that make him my favorite support character. He's aggressive when he needs to be, and defensive when I heeds to be. The best part is he can be on the run one second, then in the enemies face throwing punches and making walls the next. If you haven't played Ardan much before, then feel free to read these general tips I have:

1. Ardan's skills have multiple uses
Blood for Blood can be used for damage, or as a gap closer to get closer to allies/ enemies to apply beneficial/ harmful effects.
Vanguard can be used to dodge attacks, block damage, close gaps, slow enemies, and give speed boosts to you and your team mates!
Gauntlet can be used to trap enemies, cut enemies off from their squishier team mates, leap over walls, protect allies while they heal, and more!

2. Regen is love, regen is life
Ardan's hero ability gives him a little health back each time he's hit. It gets bigger the closer to death he is, but with a limit. Get items with health regen to make the most of his tankiness. When I have my Lifespring boots and Stormguard Banner I never have to recall, EVER. Five seconds of jungle farming will have you back to health in no time!

3. You are the wall
Part of being the support is taking damage so your team doesn't have to. This includes diving to them to block fireballs, trapping enemies in your Gauntlet to stop them from chasing your allies, and distracting the enemy with your giant man body. Your team mates are your weapon, YOU are the wall.

Late game Top

As the match drags on, you should have your Journey Boots, Fountain of Renewal, warhorn, Crucible, and eather and Atlas Pauldron or an Aegis. The final item you want to get is the almighty Aftershock! Aftershock pairs great with Ardans Blood for Blood skill as it counts as a basic attack. So when he uses Blood for Blood it is a gap close, damage dealer (the damage is percent based of the enemies max health, which is AMAZING!) and it give Ardan even MORE health when it hits! It also reduces the cooldown of all your abilities! Now you've got some good damage, and made yourself even more tanky at the same time!

Super-late game Top

If the match is just lasting waaaaaay too long, then you should have already completed the build. Once that's done, you can always buy both a weapon infuse and a crystal infuse to give yourself an edge. Your job as the protector is EXTREMELY crucial here since the longer the match lasts, the more effective Aces are. Next Ace wins, good luck!

Why I spec the way I do Top

I'm sure you noticed I don't get the last upgrade on ardan's Gauntlet ability. I prefer to overdrive both Vanguard and Blood for Blood for increased vengeance gains and damage. Walls are still walls no matter how many points you put into them.
