Before you read... Top

Hello! This is my first ever Vainglory guide, so it may not be as well written as others. But trust me, this strategy works!

The Reim Mindset Top

Reim is pretty simple. But you have to have the right mindset for this guide to work. Your main goal (besides winning, of course) is to let people get close to you and attack you first. So, let the enemy engage. Then, start attacking them and let the magic happen (Reim's "magic" will be explained below). If your enemy runs away, chase them down. Don't be aggressive to start a fight, be aggressive to finish one. If you play Reim correctly, you will come out on top.

DO:
- Fight melee heroes (especially if it's a 1v1)
- Play it safe against ranged heroes and only fight them when you have good positioning

DON'T:
- Be stupidly aggressive (have common sense and know your opponents)

Reim's Magic Top

Without getting into all those complicated numbers, here's how you unleash Reim's magic powers!

For example, let's say I'm Reim and I'm going against an enemy Koshka. I'm taking my time buying items and stuff, then all of a sudden Koshka pounces on me! HOW RUDE! But I'm not afraid. Not scared one bit. I attack Koshka while she's right next to me. A health barrier (white meter) appears on my health bar. As I fight, the barrier gets bigger. I'm doing plenty of damage to the squishy Koshka, while she is below half health and basically doing no damage. She's thinking, "But I attacked first? What the heck? Why am I dying?!" She decides to run away like the ***** cat she is. So I use my boots to chase her down. I whack her again. Still can't catch her? I use my Ultimate ability. Bye, Koshka. :)

Basically, try to let heroes attack you first. When they do, attack them back. You will gain a health barrier and they will start to do less damage, while you will be doing a good amount of damage back to them. You can use your abilities to help finish fights, like your B to root them or your Ultimate for a slow and lots of damage.

Early, Mid, And Late Game Top

EARLY GAME:

Since Reim's early game isn't great, try to stay in your jungle a lot and only gank on enemies with low health. Stay away from ranged heroes unless they are at low health. Try not to engage in fights in early game.

MID/LATE GAME:

When the game gets past about 15 minutes, you can afford to be more aggressive and invade if you want. You should win most 1v1s, but still be careful against ranged heroes. Late game is where Reim can engage and be aggressive.

Buy Items In This Order Top

1. Weapon Blade and 2 Potions - start with a bit of damage and health regeneration

2. Tier 1 Boots and Blazing Salvo - get boots first, then build to Blazing Salvo

3. Halcyon Chargers - be fast to chase or run away

4. Sorrowblade and Barbed Needle - do a lot of damage and have a bit of lifesteal

6. Lifespring and Tier 2 Defense - build some situational defense after buying Lifespring

7. Tornado Trigger - for more damage and slows

8. Fountain of Renewal and Tier 3 Defense - for not dying easily

9. Serpent's Mask* - Lifesteal to complete the build

*replace Serpent's Mask with Bonesaw if enemy has a lot of armor
