Vox is one of Adagio's easiest matchups due to the range advantage and allows Adagio to control the lane

Skye
Skye is very squishy so Adagio's burst damage makes it a good damage. Skye's damage comes over time so you have a small of window to do as much damage to her.

Ringo
Adagio should be able to deal with ringo well as long as you combo Gift of Fire and Agent of wrath

Adagio fairs well into samuel being able to kite around Samuels Malice and Verdict

Glaive
Glaive is neutral should just depend on your positioning. Adagio should be able to survive his burst

Kestrel
Kestrel is a small threat due to her burst damage but Adagio should be able tosustain

Taka counters adagio with only his mortal wound and being able to gap close to Adagio quickly

Celeste
Celeste deals pretty well into adagio with her aoe damage and wave clear plus late game range

Krul is a huge threat due to krul being able to get on top of Adagio and weaken all of his damage

I would say skaarf is Adagio's biggest threat beacuse a skilled skaarf can trade with Adagio efficiently and push waves of minions fast with goop

This guide will focus on playing Adagio as a lane carry. Although Adagio was intended to be a roam he has shown to be an excellent crystal carry. Adagio's kit brings a lot of versatility being able to deal massive amounts of damage while supporting teammates.
I believe Adagio is extremely effective in the lane because of his early to mid game power and late game utility. Adagios's kit allows him to sustain in the lane incredibly well using his heroic perk, Arcane Renewal, to not run out of energy. As well as using Gift of Fire and Agent of Wrath to farm effectively. I hope I make the guide interesting and easy to follow, enjoy!
"The master manipulator of large-scale battles, Adagio brings incredible teamfight presence with huge area od effect damage and team saving abilities. He almost seems too good: He can heal. He can amplify damage. He can stun and nuke the entire team ... but none of these can be achieved easily without team wide coordination. Adagio is extremely flexible and can start as a laner, jungler or roamer."
Whenever enemies burning with Arcane Fire take damage from any source, Adagio regenerates 25% of that damage as energy.
Arcane Renewal is extremely effective for a carry Adagio because it makes so he can easily keep up his energy while farming in the lane. This is super important since every laner you face will need to use mana to trade and farm so you should be out sustaining them. Arcane Renewal allows you to not need energy items such as Eve of Harvest and allows you to build a lot more damage. Using Gift of Fire and Agent of Wrath together lets you make the most out of [[Arcane Renewal].
Heals a target ally, then splashes Arcane Fire onto nearby enemies. If Adagio heals himself, he'll also apply a heavy slow to nearby enemies.
Arcane Fire (status effect):
Burns the target every second and causes Adagio's other abilities do deal more damage.
Burst heals the target instantly, followed by a gradual heal over the next few seconds.
Burst Heal is increased by 9% of Adagio's bonus health.
When cast on self, slows nearby enemies by 70% for 0.9s.
Resets basic-attack cooldown on activation.
Using Gift of Fire: Gift of Fire is a very dynamic part of Adagio's kit. This ability can be used both offensively and defensively.
- Offensively: Adagio can use Gift of Fire offensively in many ways. In the lane you can use this ability to pressure the enemy laner by trying to heal one of your lane minions and catch both the enemy and minions on fire.This will allow you to farm faster,keep energy up and harass enemy laner. In team fights it is important that you try to burn as many enemies as possible so you can target different enemies if needed with Agent of Wrath.
- Defensively: Adagio should use Gift of Fire on himself if the enemy team has a hero that can quickly gap close to adagio. In this case once the enemy is on top of you immediately heal yourself to slow him and try to create some distance between the two of you while auto attacking for damage.
What to AVOID: Try not use your Agent of Wrath too much on yourself in the lane due to its large cool down early and you wont be able to regenerate the energy. Also try to use [[Gift of Fire]] only when you can follow up with Agent of Wrath.
What to AVOID: Always be patient when using Agent of Wrath due to it only having a duration of 6 seconds. This means try not to use it to farm if there is a potential team fight. Another thing to avoid is hitting a target that isn't burning when you can hit an enemy who is.
Adagio channels for 2s then deals heavy damage to all enemies in a wide ring around him. Enemies burning with Arcane Fire are also stunned.
Adagio temporarily gains fortified health while channeling.
Using Verse of Judgement:[/b] Verse of Judgement is an extremely powerful ultimate that should be used to try and stun up the enemy team. One of the best ways to use Verse of Judgement is with a hard initiation onto the enemy followed up by with Gift of Fire on yourself and then using Verse of Judgement but only do this when the enemy do not have reflex blocks. Another efficient way of using Verse of Judgement is when the enemy teams dive you. In this case use [Gift of Fire]] on yourself and then use Verse of Judgement.
What to AVOID: Because Verse of Judgement will only stun burning targets, try not to use it unless you are able to burn the targets. As well as do not use it when the targets are burning and you still have many buff hits available.
Even though Adagio is a super strong hero, he still needs the right teammates to be super efficient.
X-RETSU FIRE
Taka pairs extremely well with Adagio. Taka is known for being able to stick on to enemies and stay on top of them really well. This pairs well with Adagio because it makes it easier to use Gift of Fire and catch enemies on fire. In most fights Taka should X-Retsu in with support and Adagio should immediately follow up with Gift of Fire and Agent of Wrath
GAUNTLET OF JUDGEMENT
Ardan also pairs extremely well with Adagio. They have an incredible amount of synergy together in terms of how easily Ardan can get to enemies and their ultimates. With Ardan just being a super tanky support who can gap close repeatedly with Blood for Blood, he is one of the best supports that can make sure Adagio can burn enemies with Gift of Fire. Both of their ultimates synergize well due to Ardan being able to enclose the enemy and letting Adagio set up for a Verse of Judgement
Alternating Current Alternating Current is in my opinion the strongest first item for Adagio. It gives him the attack speed needed to kite and use all of his buff hit quickly. Alternating Current also gives Adagio some crystal power so that it makes his heals and buffs stronger.
Broken Myth Broken Myth is an essential item for all crystal power heroes. I believe this item to be the second best offensive item on Adagio due to its damage amplification and pierce. Broken Myth is also effective due to Adagio having a long range so he can stack Broken Myth fairly easily. Getting Broken Myth second just gives you more flexibility to you next offensive item.
Frostburn Frostburn is my preferred third offensive item on adagio even though most players would disagree with me. I believe Frostburn is essential for Adagio due to the fact that he can apply its slow easily. For example, once you have Frostburn you can slow multiple enemies if you are able to set them on fire and this well help your team chase or postition well enough to secure kills. Also, you are able to slow enemies with not just your buffed auto attacks, but also every other basic attack from your Alternating Current
Aegis Aegis should be the crystal defensive item that you purchase because you will need the core shield and needing the reflex block for blocking a Atlas Pauldron. This item is only necessary if the enemy has a crystal power carry.
Metal Jacket Metal Jacket should always be your defensive item vs a weapon power carry due to it having the most amount of armor. This item is only necessary if the enemy has a weapon power carry.
Halcyon Chargers Halcyon Chargers are the best types of boots for Adagio With Adagio being a crystal power carry the extra energy and cooldown from Halcyon Chargers benefits him a a lot and makes sure that Adagio can keep using his abilities often.
Crystal Infusion
The infusion that you want to purchase will always be the crystal one just due to the fact that Adagio will benefit from all the cooldown and crystal power it provides.
1. Starting ITEMS: Swift Shooter, HALCYCON POTION, - Adagio should always start a [[Swift Shooter with two potions so he can farm quick and being able to purchase Alternating Current quickly
2. Farming: In the early game is when you have the most trouble farming just due to the fact you wont have many items. Adagio does have high base damage so having an attack speed item will help you last hit efficiently. With Adagiotry to fochus on farming for the most part of the early game and try to use your abilities to last hit.
3. Trading with Enemy Laner: In most situations, Adagio will have the advantage vs other laners in the early game so always try to keep the pressure up. With his long range you should always just try to damage the enemy laner when possible. This being said always make sure that you are on even footing with the enemy laner. If they have shopped while you need to, make sure to find a way to shop whether its back porting or rotating to jungle shop.
4. Rotating Adagio does have good farming speed and strength early game so being able to rotate should always be on your mind. If you have a weaker jungle you should push the wave and rotate to help your teammates if the situation is ideal. For example, if your teammates are going to die by the time you rotate you should instead pressure the enemy laner and try to rotate into the enemy jungle and call your teammates to lane once they respawn.
Playing the MID GAME: (t = 8:00 - 15:00)
Adagio starts to hit huge power spikes in the mid game. Once he hits level 8 Adagio will have maxed his Agent of Wrath and this is when you should really be punishing the enemy laner or looking for team fights. He will also have his Verse of Judgement so he will be able to make a huge impact in team fights. Adagio starts to fall off around 17 minutes so in the mid game you really want to get a lead using adagio's strength.
Playing the LATE GAME: (t = 15:00 - End of Game)
At this point Adagio is starting to fall off so you have to be careful in your positioning. You're most likely going to want to have a longer drawn out battle. Just try to kite around the edges of the fight and rely a lot on your jungler and support to be the frontlines.
1. Patience. - Being patient with Adagio is one of the best things you can do. Considering Adagio has high cooldowns for a majority of the game try not to use your abilities just whenever they are up. Look for the right moment to use your Gift of Fire to burn multiple enemies. As well as even if you have a good positions to use Verse of Judgement but the enemy still has all of their utility items it is better to wait.
2. Voice communication. Voice communication will always be important to every hero. Being able to communicate with your teammates will let them know when you have your abilities ready. If your team engages when you do not have your abilities off cooldown Adagio will not be able to make a big impact in the fight. As well as knowing when your teammates are going to engage so you can position yourself to cast Gift of Fire and burn multiple enemies.
3. Positioning. Positioning in team fights is very important. As Adagio you never want to be in front of your teammates. You want to be close enough so you can cast Gift of Fire on your ally and engage with boots and Agent of Wrath. When you engage you still do not want to go super deep, you're still going to want to kite around the edges of the fight. It is vital that you position as a backline.
