So my main is a crystal petal, and I had a build down that I pretty much liked. I'd start off battery, build up to frostburn, work towards shatterglass next and play everything else situationally. Petal seems to be in an odd place with the patch, as she pretty much NEEDS a battery, but none of the items it builds into are very useful for her. There's no need for quick cooldowns for yay pets or seeds (Clockwork), and she doesn't need lifesteal (EOH) because she has seeds. It's kind of a perfect storm of wtf for this build post-patch, as before I would have thought "okay, i'll just go hourglass for energy," but now hourglass no longer produces energy.

This becomes the biggest problem endgame when I've got that battery sitting there and nothing worthwhile to turn it into.

Obviously a suggestion is to just go weapon, but Crystal Petal is pretty darn useful in "Pretty Good" tier because everyone here goes all weapons, and everyone makes armor instead of shields. And I'd still need some juice for munions going weapon, so right back to the "what to do with this battery" issue.

To summarize: Crystal Petal needs lots of energy, but with frostburn losing its battery, she (he?) seemingly has no use for energy-producing tier 3 items anymore. Any suggestions?

Get an Ironguard Contract, the Stormguard Banner and Level up to Warhorn.

2. Warhorn gives you Energy Charging + cooldown acceleration, so you can use your exploding pets more often -> what is good for crystal petal

and until then, fill ur energy with halcyon potions, or buy an battery and sell it later :)
