Any reason to let the Kraken destroy the crystal rather than yourself?

So I have no idea how to interpret what just happened in a match: So we were owning this team, I think final score was 36-10. We released the Kraken twice. Towards the end after we had released the Kraken again we all invaded the base and started killing the heroes and I started working on the turrets as the Kraken slowly started walking towards their base. All the heroes were dead and we easily could have taken the last two turrets ourselves. Which I started to do while my teammates just sat there. One player started aggressively pinging me to avoid finishing off the turrets and crystal like he was waiting for the Kraken to do it?

I don't understand this. There was no threat from enemy heroes or turrets. Is there something I'm missing here? Why wouldn't you just attack and finish it off asap before the heroes respawned? In order to get a couple more hero kills? So I just pistol whipped the hell out of the last turrets and crystal while they sat there doing nothing and finished the game for us.

So confused...

It's some sort of humiliation thing. Like "yeah, we pwned you so bad we can even afford to wait for you to respawn". I've seen that a few times myself.

Ha! That makes sense. My concern was giving them a chance to surrender which would have been a waste.

I plead guilty, I did it myself a few time. But I did a even worse version, I sat on the spawn platform, close enough to see anyone on it and far enough to not be executed by the game. The thoughts process is simple : we owned you, we're destroying your base, now let's see what you'll do. Will you surrender as we're tauting you on your plateform, or will you play and die again ? It's a provocation, a troll, made to upset the enemy team.
The final touch is to sell all the items at their shop to buy 6 hearts, which is killing blow of the troll.

I know, it's bad but damn I find it funny to do. And I raged so many times when people did it to me, so I know how it feels like

Haha I do it also, but not as troll, and don't take it wrong mate it is not something against you, it is just I would like to wait the enemy to spawn and I can get more kills. It feels great when sometime my ally knows what I am up to when I do this, and 3 of us stand together right outside their base just waiting for their hero appear and kill them again and again until they surrender or their base got destroyed by minions or krakken. Oh man this is so fun and this is very legit, so try to enjoy that "vainglory" moment.
