I have been thinking about the whole character picking stage and I had a couple suggestions to the dev folks:
1. It would be nice to indicate to other team mates your intention:
Lane/Jungle/ Lane Support/ Jungle Support
2. It would be nice if we could purchase during the count down so we can come into the game itemed up.
3. Maybe a 30 second count down once everyone has picked and were there seeing who were facing. Give a short chat session where we can see who were matching and talk quick strategy. I think I could stand 30 seconds of chit chat but really don't want it in game please.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

you do get 25s before game starts

Really nice suggestion thou but, IMO this will not work. What if you don't agree on positions? There would be times your team mates will not change their Hero to put up a good strategy and team balance.
I think team strategies are made while in-game. I bet you already have your set of Items and gamestyle in mind before playing.
