if I'm in a PUG, which I always am, is there any way I can make sure the other side isn't a Special Forces on headset communications? That spoils the game as much as having an AFK teammate.

Unfortunately the way it is right now, solo queues and team queues are possible to put against each other. It's one of the reason why it's so hard to maintain a skill tier of "The hotness" and above. Mostly at around that skill tier, people tend to team up
