this glitch happened to 2 people i know play vainglory, idk about my other friends.
So one can do ranked matches but hadnt done a ranked match yet but after the update he became rock solid bronze.
My little sister whos 7 cant do ranked matches yet but also became rock solid bronze too.
idk how it happened

This is interesting. After the reset, I had received no decay, strangely. But after playing a few matches (which I did not lose) it seemed to have decayed around 1 full tier. I assume it's just a display issue, but you could contact SEMC and tell them about it, if you feel that it's very important. Also, maybe contacting the Support team could help as well. Whichever one you think would be best, if any.

This has also happened to my friend, who went alll the way from unranked to worthy foe bronze. If this has been an issue for a long time, no wonder there are so many trolls in tier 4, I just realized. Maybe this is why there are so many trolls in there, that it is almoost impossible to escape. It is also unfair to the people who worked hard all the way to go to tier 4 and yet because of a glitch, their friends went to tier 4/3 immediately.
