The best supports are either Catherine or Ardan.
But if I had to choose, it would be Catherine because of her frequents stuns, deflective bubble, and silence.
The only reason I picked Ardan last update was because of how strong he was with a Breaking Point. With the recent changes to Breaking Point, it's not that effective because now you need to have like a Sorrowblade for it to work.

Personally I feel like Ardan and Catherine are the best supports but Catherine is my personal favourite for all the reasons Venecticius said.
