When going for a tier 3 ability, is it better to take the shortest path to it or get all the other trees that branch into it? I know it lowers the cost but is the time or money worth it?

This actually didn't make much sense to me. But I'll assume you saying should you rush your ult or go through another branch? I'd answer this with it depends on the hero and the build your using.

Sorry for the confusion. I mean when prchasing a t3 upgrade, like alternating current, I think you can get it by going the wp or cp tree, blazing salvo and eclipse I think. Is it beneficial to do both t2 that lead to it first or just do the one path. Hope that makes sense.

Well honestly I reckon it depends but the best bet would be if your rushing to get that item next then just get the blazing salvo and the heavy prism. :).

You have to have both heavy prism and blazing salvo to get alternating current.

No you don't, if you have enough gold you can just straight buy any item

But unless you only have one slot left, forcing you to buy straight, it would be dumb to wait as you would be weak during the save up period

If you had one slot I'd get the item part I needed the most. For Vox if I had enough burst already I'd just go for blazing salvo. But if I was someone like Skaarf I'd rather get the heavy prism if I only had one slot.

I know, but I think he is implying that you could get alternating faster and cheaper by getting only one of the antecedent items, so I was just explaining that all items have their cost, and their are not any shortcuts.

I was more curious if the bonuses from getting both tier 2's stay when you buy a tier 3. When I can afford a t3 I usually get both t2 that lead to it. Is that better stats wise than going one path.
