If you are going to play Baron you need to approach the lane differently. This hero es extremely slow and it really sucks at close combat, not to mention it requieres a ton of energy so save up and aim for the big items. Remember: the further away you can attack other heroes or Minions the better you will perform.
Rules to play baron:
1). when picking your first items. Pick any item (I suggest one from the weapons) and ALWAYS PICK THE BOOTS!
2). Clockwork, magic word. Must have it before your 7 - 8 level.
3). Upgrade boots --> Travel Boots --> if you get to Tier 3 get Halcyon Chargers.
4). Worst enemies are the one who can Silence you or Stun you. If you identify this heroes then Reflex Block is a must!
5). PORCUPINE MORTAR is your best friend at the time to level up. Use it against Minions and make mad gold.
So far this is all I have to share. I will keep playing with Baron and share with you guys if I find anything else.
