Item Choices

How To Build Krul Top

Start off with a damage knife. I know most of you will start off with swift shooter, but we want T-Bow ASAP so we do not waste any valuable time. T-Bow is extremely effective early game. Try to get T-Bow by the mark of 4 minutes and 30 seconds. You can build a Sprint Boot and Oakheart/Armor/Shield in between. Once that is done, get Travel Boots and Reflex Block. These two items help you survive fights. Time your Reflex Block. MAKE SURE YOU INITIATE A FIGHT WITH DEAD MAN RUSH, AND ATTACK THE CARRY WITH THAT ABILITY. YOUR T-BOW WILL SCALE WITH DMR BY 160%, WHICH IS A LOT. ALSO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR HEROIC PERK ON SO YOU CAN SLOW. The first hit is extremely powerful, if everything is set up correctly. then, continue hitting the carry and smite when you think he/she will get away or die. Next up, get an hourglass, crystal bit, and swift shooter. The hourglass and crystal bit will upgrade into Aftershock, while Swift shooter helps with attack speed, which helps you deal that smite damage quicker. Get an Aftershock, then get Journey boots. Journey boots lower your sprint cooldown to 30 seconds. It is a very versatile ability/skill to initiate or escape. Also, since it is 30 seconds, you will get to use it almost every fight. You also get bonus stats, which is cool (That 25 armor and shield are really useful). The next item you will depend on your current survivability. If you can get lots of stacks on enemies, go for a BM. If you go for a BM, you notice you will have only 1 slot left at this point. From this point, you should get a heavy prism if the enemy is not getting shield, and get a piercing shard if the enemy is getting shield. Start REKTing people at this point, and you should get a surge of gold. If the enemy gets Atlas Pauldron, do not panic. Reflex block it or dodge it with your DMR. In case you do get hit by Atlas Pauldron and everything seems bad, run away. Then, when Atlas is going to wear off, you have two decisions. If your team has a good chance to win the teamfight, turn back and throw your sword if a carry is running away. If not, use your Heroic perk to catch up to them just before Atlas wears out. Then you REKT them and win. If the game somehow manages to go on, replace swift shooter with a clockwork, and build defense and sell T-Bow. Probably choose between Metal Jacket, Atlas Pauldron, Aegis, or Shiversteel. Also, during late game, if you have money for infusion, prioritize WP infusion because you already sold your swift shooter. If you do not think Attack Speed is a problem, go for a CP infusion.

Ability Path Top

Overdrive Smite first because it is your source of crystal damage. DMR only increases in non-attack stats in each upgrade. Once smite is done, get DMR maxed out so you can decrease cooldown. That is what to look for late game Krul: Cooldown acceleration. You want to be able to activate his abilities fast. Krul's sword is sort of like Koshka's stun. Don't max it out.

Tactics Top

Here is a list of everything I can think of
-If the enemy is very prominent early game, teleport back to shop once you clear jungle minions first time.
-Try to invade at level 4, if all is going well.
-DMR is very versatile. Use it in creative ways, such as dodging/juking, gap closer, health barrier, initiating, etc.
-Use smite to finish off an enemy. Estimate how many stacks it takes to kill an enemy. In special cases, though, smite early. This applies to Taka and BlackFeather, because once you get a good amount of stacks on them, they run away. Smite them at a random point of 4 or more stacks.
-Go for a boomarang stun if you know your enemies have used up reflex block. To do this, you can either snipe the target, or throw the sword to your side and somehow sprint to the target (be it the heroic perk, boots, ardan's vanguard, etc.)
-Time your reflex blocks. Some are fairly predictable. A Catherine might stun you and then Atlas you right away. In that case, activate Block when she tries to stun you.
-If you go against someone who can kite you easily, try to let your carry poke the enemy a bit. This is why I used to like a Skaarf teammate. Initiate when there is a nice path between you and your target.
-Krul is great at securing contested Gold mines. If you have three teammates and the enemy only has two, ans they obviously won't defeat you, do not be afraid to take gold mine. Just smite when the Gold MIne is almost deasd.
