About Me Top

My name is Infernious (also known as DatBurn), a leader of Team iStardusts. I started to play Vainglory almost a year and half now. A year ago, I used Vainglory Fire to help myself become better when I started and saw how useful it was. So now I'm here, making a guide for you all to give my advice about this game.

SAW is a really lane hero that can input a lot of damage in short amount of time. Due to his lack of mobility, he was avoided by most players before, but after gaining his buff in update 1.18, he started to regain his fame. Although his weapon build tree is more well-known and preferred by many players, crystal power build can be equally deadly.

The CP SAW's potential to deal a breathe taking damage with his abilities makes him useful. His A Roadie Run is one of the best assassination tool in the game. In this build, SAW wouldn't be able to deal a lot of damage with his basic attacks, but it does not matter. (He is crystal powered!)

Abilities Top

SAW's passive is Spin Up Each basic attack increases SAW's attack speed by 25% and armor & shield by 1, but it also decreases his move speed by -0.12 (up to 12 stacks). After 3.5s without basic attacking, SAW will lose 1 stack of Spin Up every 0.2s. Basically, more you shoot, slower you become.

Roadie Run is scary. You gain a sudden burst of speed on the activation for short period of time and pulls out a melee combat knife. When SAW successful hits an enemy (or a monster or objective), he rolls backward. You can use this roll back mechanic to go though walls or to close the gap between you and the target. (It takes practice). The damage is based on target's missing health. Activating this ability will clear all of his Spin Up stack.

Suppressing Fire is his second ability. Saw stays still in place upon activation and fires a hurricane of bullets into the direction he chooses for two seconds. Targets that are in the hurricane of bullets are slowed. Finishing this ability will grant you full 12 stacks on his Spin Up and resets his cool down on Roadie Run.

SAW's ultimate is Mad Cannon. When you activate this ability, SAW replaces his basic attacks with explosive shells. The damage depends on the target's missing health. The shells also deal splash damage depending on the amount of crystal power the SAW has. These shells fire slower than normal basic attacks but gain two stacks on Spin Up per shot.

Wait What...? Top

Many of you guys are probably questioning, "What? Only Eve of Harvest and Broken Myth?" and my answer to that would be yes, only those two items. They are all you need to do ridiculous amounts of damage. With the full stack on Broken Myth, you can delete enemies off the Halcyon Fold.

Just make sure you don't shank randomly.

Play Style Top

Unlike the weapon build path, crystal powered SAW is played like an assassin. Use your Suppressing Fire to tick down enemy's health bar and gain the stack of Broken Myth. Constantly harass the enemy by taking pot shots at them to lower their health bar to at least one fourth of their max health. Then it's safe to use your Roadie Run to clean them up. Don't forget that your damage on Roadie Run is based on target's missing health so attempting a shank on the enemy when they are health wouldn't do much.

Also, when you and your team mates are engaging in a team fight, stay behind your team and deal damage to the enemies with your Suppressing Fire. While you are in Suppressing Fire, you will be vulnerable to a lot of crowd controls and will be focused on so you have to rely mostly on your team mates to help you out.

Since your basic attacks doesn't do a lot of damage, you must use your ultimate for the damage. When [[Mad Cannon] is fully upgraded, the cool down will be shortened drastically and the damage will increase. It is enough to deal a lot of damage in a single team fight. So don't save your ultimate and use it whenever possible during a team fight.

If everything is done right, you will be falling in love with the crystal powered SAW and his devastating abilities to deal a loooooooot of damage. (A LOOOOOT)

Caution Top

Avoid getting caught out. SAW is very vulnerable to damages and crowd control abilities during his Suppressing Fire and can be shut down even before being able to input the damage. Stick with your team mates if possible in a late game.

Use your Roadie Run carefully since a wrong back roll can place you in an area you don't want to be in.

Conclusion Top

Again, thank you for even caring to read this even more horribly written guide on SAW. Due to lack of references and experience, this guide is not perfect. This is my second guide on Vainglory Fire and I hope you all found this useful. Although this type of build is very different from well known build for SAW but it is still as strong and dangerous as the weapon build. I will return with more guides on hero builds that are under appreciated.
