Threat Hero Notes
1
Ardan Ardan really does not pose a threat to you as you can just tank every hit he throws at you. Just watch out to not run into his Ultimate.
2
Glaive Glaive is of no threat to you (if you use the single targeted AOE build). Most Glaives will use their Ultimate very fast into a fight so just have your finger ready to tap Aegis. He cannot kite you and just watch out for AfterBurner so he does not hit you into his team and or turrets.
2
Koshka Koshka is like another version of Taka. Use the build given to you and she will be no threat to you. Oh and keep flares handy so you know when to use your items.
2
Taka Taka is at the same level of threat as Koshka. Use the build given to you and your Taka will wish he never played that game. Keep 2 flares on you at all times to see where he is and if he is going to gank.
3
Adagio Adagio is a squishy hero and easy taken down in a team gank. Just watch out for his Ultimate attack by using Crucible to shield you and the team and he should be no problem.
4
Krul Krul is a bit of a problem but with your Ultimate and stuns you should take him out with ease. Remember to not let him get his stacks on you.
5
Celeste Celeste is a bit scary for 2 reasons. One, she can kite you easily and use her first ability to deal massive amounts of crystal damage to you. And second because her ultimate is very deadly. Just team gank her and you should be fine. She is extremely squishy.
5
Joule Joule is dangerous when she gets her stacks on you. Her stuns can disorient you and your team and her ultimate is deadly if positioned right. Make sure you have another person with you or your team to take her down.
6
SAW Saw is a very dangerous enemy at full Spin Up (his passive). Always let him use his Suppressing Fire and stun him, he has wasted his Suppressing fire and his stacks. Easy target now.
7
Petal Petal is very dangerous against you. Not only her Ultimate hits hard but also she can kite you all day long. Make sure to gank her with your team and keep her stunned and slowed with Shiversteel.
8
Ringo Ringo is by far the worst for you. He moves fast, his passive will deal all kinds of damage to you, and his ultimate will make sure you don't get away alive. Make sure to have a full team to get him and use your ShiverSteel and stuns!
8
Skaarf Skarff is at the same level as all of the other Kiters. His ultimate is very scary and can deal massive amounts of damage to you. Kill him when your team is present and again use your ShiverSteel and Stuns to kill him. Oh and his Ultimate has a charge up just use your Ultimate to counter this.

Why Single Out Taka? Top

Good Question. Here's why. Everyone and their grandmother just loves using Taka. Every match there is a Taka or Koshka. He is annoying, although squishy, if you do not have flares on you and your boots and ShiverSteel ready he will get away with his Second Ability, Kaku, which makes him like a fly you cannot hit. His Ultimate if he is CP (Crystal Powered) will hit you like a train, then he uses his second ability and runs away. This made me want to hunt Taka every single game and make his my number one kill priority. Remember he will never take you head on, he is always in a bush, waiting to gank, knowing he cannot take damage. So like I said keep those flares handy. Haven't seen him for a while? Pop a flare. Don't be cheap and not buy them, they could win you the game. I'm sure a lot of you feel the same way about Taka. He's like the Teemo of VainGlory. Can be easily countered but if not paid attention to can make you loose a game.

More In Depth Explanation of Items. Top

So these builds here will ensure (if used correctly) that Taka will hate you as an opponent. No more raging at your phone because he killed you with his Ultimate, or got away with Kaku. Haven't seen Taka counter builds around so decided to make this one. :)

Lets go over the Counter Weapon Build.

Metal Jacket. I think this one kind of explains itself. If Taka is building weapon power then he will rely on his auto attacks to kill you and the team. His abilities will do some damage but not much. Giving you massive armor to protect from his hits.

Fountain Of Renewal or FoR. This one is a hope crusher for Taka. Lets say he doesn't target you because he gets the point that you are too tanky so its not worth the effort and mana. He picks a squishy target on your team, and attacks them. Your teammate is running back to the turrets below half health. be close to your ally and use you Fountain of Renewal and stun him. He'll be raging at his phone pretty hard.

AfterShock. The cooldown acceleration is wonderful as is the lifesteal from it. Use and ability and auto Taka once and get some life back. The crystal power is also very nice when you use your Ultimate and deal some decent damage.

Journey Boots. Lets face it your not very mobile without boots and Taka will keep running away if you do not have them on! Save your run for emergencies or when he pops his Kaku. Pop a flare and use your boots and ShiverSteel and secure the kill.

Warhorn. Warhorn is a great team player Utility item. Ally in trouble from Taka and his teammates? Pop the warhorn and watch your ally fly away and then you stun them. Some bonus energy regeneration never hurts as you will using abilities a lot. And the cooldown acceleration is a beauty when in emergencies!

ShiverSteel. My absolute favorite item to use against Taka or Kiters. Since you are melee the slow applied on any enemy will be 2.8 seconds! This is basically a secured kill if your team is there. Plus on top of that giving you +600 Max Health making you even more of a tank!

I put a 7th item if you want to swap out FoR with Eve of Harvest you may do so on any of the builds if you so choose as it works well. Whatever you fancy.

Counter Crystal Build:
Remember that if you build CP (crystal power) he will rely on his abilities to do damage. Lucky for you, you read this guide and remembered that you needed to build shield items against him! No more damage for Taka. Pop a flare and if you see him in the bush, walk by him popping your Aegis and have your team hop on him and kill him. Bye bye Taka. I put a 7th item if you want to swap out Aegis with Eve of Harvest you may do so on any of the builds if you so choose as it works well. Whatever you fancy.

Counter Hybrid Build:
Basically 2 builds in 1. He will auto and use abilities, good thing for you is that you are prepared for that with your tank build.I put a 7th item if you want to swap out Aegis with Eve of Harvest you may do so on any of the builds if you so choose as it works well. Whatever you fancy.

The other 2 builds are obvious.

Now keep in mind I know you will not be 1v1ing Taka, there are other enemy teammates as well, so the crucible and aegis put together is for that reason. But this build ensures to take care of any other enemy teammates that are actively trying to kill you. Remember use your items right, keep an eye on the cooldowns and teammates and watch your enemies run. You can build the order of the items however pleases you. You can always swap out items for other situational items if you so choose so.

Catherine's Abilities Top

Passive
Panzer Faust: Use this to your advantage. Everytime you stun or silence an enemy you gain 1 armor. Might not seem like a lot but trust me when it stacks up you will be more tankier than ever!

Merciless Pursuit: Your first ability. Gives you a burst of speed and stuns the enemy for 0.75 seconds at level 1, 0.9 at level 2, 1.05 at level 3, 1.2 at level 4, and 1.75 at level 5. Great ability to stop Taka when he uses Kaku or any enemy trying to run away from you and your team.

Stormguard: Shields Catherine with a energy bubble that deflects damage above 77 (+7 per level) to nearby enemies. Each deflection reduces the shields duration by 0.5 seconds. Duration for level 1-5 is 6 seconds.

Blast Tremor: Catherine slams the ground, stunning and silencing enemies in a large cone in front of her. This is great for team fights and being a huge presence in the middle of it. Silence duration at level 1 is 2.5 seconds, at level 2 it is 3 seconds, and at level 3 it is a whopping 3.5 seconds!

Use all of these abilities wisely as they will come in handy in team fights and ultimately taking down that pest Taka.

How to Take Taka Out. Top

Now here comes the fun part. You have the builds, you have your jungle route planned. Now you need to know how to know where he is and target him first. Lets take an example, lets say his teammates are Adagio and Koshka. So you see he has 2 Single Attack Targeted Ultimate Heros and 1 AOE Ultimate Attack Hero. So you should always have 2 junglers and 1 laner for maximum gold. Now lets say Koshka and Adagio are building CP (crystal power) and Taka is building WP (weapon power). So the best option would be to go with the counter hybrid setup. Why you ask? Aegis to protect you from Kasha's Ult and Taka's. Crucible to protect your team from Adagio's Ultimate. Metal Jacket to protect you from Taka's auto's. Journey Boots to chase or run away after enemies. ShiverSteel to slow them down and secure a kill. Warhorn to get your abilities faster, energy recharge, and to get your team out of harms way. Remember as Catherine you will not be doing tons of damage. That is NOT the point. You can turn the tides of a battle without dishing stupid amounts of damage. Your stun is the most reliable in game, your shield is amazing at deflecting damage and soaking up damage, and your Ultimate shuts down the enemy team for a short period of time. Your like a very important cannon fodder in a team fight. You want them to target you, so always stay in front of your team and watch your allies as well. Your Ultimate is very powerful in team fights, so do not use it until the time is right. Now back to the tactic. Like I said keep your flares handy on you, and if your good with scout trap placement it never hurts to put a few down here and there to keep control of your jungle and vision. Haven't seen Taka in a while or at all? Pop a flare. When you see he hit level 6, pop a flare because chances are he will try to gank your laner with his Ultimate. Always keep your eyes on him, put a few scout traps in their jungle and at the item shop. When you see that he is trying to gank your laner, ping your jungler to counter bank and secure or scare off Taka. Like I said you will never see Taka in the lane or out in the open, he is an assassin so treat him like one. He is never far from his teammates so in a team fight pop a flare and see which direction he's coming from, remember he's very squishy so if you and your team are still healthy to fight, ping him as a target and destroy him. He pops his Kaku, pop another flare and ShiverSteel and stun him and you have secured yourself a team Taka kill. By using these tips and this tactic Taka and Koshka will be stuck which means little gold income and no kills for them. Which makes them useless mid to late game. Taka and Koshka gank A LOT so if your in a team on Skype tell them to keep flares handy. Make sure if you all have flares to use them wisely and apart from one another.

I Hope you Enjoyed! Top

I hope you enjoyed this lengthy guide on how to be a massive tank and how to kill Taka with ease and keep him locked down with Catherine. This is my first guide and will be coming out with more in the future. Take care! :)
