Fortress Big bad wolf...well not if your Petal he is not a big deal. He alone will be easy to kill. And he doesn't do much damage if you kite him; plus you can melt tanky health anyway so he is yours to take down.
3
Phinn He is too slow for you and you can easily dodge his attacks. You could also chase him down and easily melt his health bar. Just be careful for his Forced Accord.
4
Ardan All I have to say for Ardan is just that if you are inside his ultimate barrier then you need to activate your ultimate, Spontaneous Combustion inside it because the whole enemy team will try and target you. So the only thing you are able to do is damage the enemy significantly and heal yourself a bit to try and sustain. And if you do survive their attacks for awhile then, of course, target the squishy heroes.
4
Catherine Don't have to worry much about Catherine except that she can stun you. And usually her ultimate won't reach you or you can escape a fight that she is trying to initiate with her ultimate. She will be very easy to kill as your munions attack her with you to drain her tanky health. I promise you she is almost a 100% free kill if she ties to kill you and is alone.
4
Joule Joule isn't a problem for Petal mostly because she isn't mobile and you can just kite her. You can also chase her down easily if she runs away.
4
Reim Reim is peetty easy to kite with his slow movement speed. However, don't get too close to him where he is most dangerous and will stick to you like glue.
5
Adagio Adagio...sadly is not a threat to Petal. He will die easily with tanky health or not. He can do damage, but Petal will ultimately win the fight. Just watch out for his ultimate, Verse of Judgement, and you should be fine.
5
Glaive Glaive, the wild cat, fortunately he won't be much of a problem because of his short ranged attacks and inability to escape very easily. So you can basically kite him and chase him down easily.
5
Rona Rona is also, again...easy to kill. She can be kited easily and isn't very tanky. Just watch out for her ultimate tornado thing because it can be a killer.
6
Skye Skye isn't really dangerous because she is squishy and her range isn't so great. So she won't be much of a problem other than her ultimate, which you should dodge by jumping out of it.
6
Krul Krul ain't very cruel with you if you are a Petal. He can easily be kited and since you drain tanky health easily, he won't be hard to put down. Just watch out for his ultimate, which can stun you.
6
Blackfeather Blackfeather is a tough one. He is extremely good at chasing down targets and finishing them off. However, Petal is super good at escape with her knock back seeds and Trampoline. So to keep him off you you will need to constantly kite him and lower his health so that you can turn the fight around. Your ultimate will certainly eliminate him instantly, but make sure you finish him off early in a team fight because he can come back and haunt you in the end.
7
Ringo Ringo has superior range in the beginning of the game so during the early game phase do not be so aggressive if you are in the lane with him. He deals lots of damage and can easily kill you in a one on one. However, in mid game you will beat him all day. Then again in late game he could melt your health again.
7
SAW Be careful of this turtle with insane range. He will not hesitate to kill you and he is only dangerous if his ultimate is activated or if you are alone in the lane with him. Other than that he is easy money.
7
Koshka Koshka is pretty dangerous if you get caught in her ultimate and if she tries to case you down. She is fast and can really catch her prey so all you can do is kite and try your best to bounce away from her as you deal damage. However, you can save yourself with a Reflex Block or with your ultimate, Spontaneous Combustion, to heal yourself and do massive damage that could turn the tide of the game.
7
Kestrel Kestrel is squishy just like you so an ultimate will most likely kill her just like that. Although her damage is very lethal so use your dodging skill (Trampoline) to your advantage.
8
Petal Yourself is just as strong as yourself so be alert if the enemy has better items than you. And don't fight alone if the enemy has another teammate. Show yourself in a team fight after she does.
8
Celeste So if you lane with a Celeste then you have to make a conches effort to be careful and stay away from her range of comets. They will do significant damage and you will die very easily in early game especially. However, you can easily kill her with or without you ultimate, Spontaneous Combustion. She is easy to kill, but she is lethal too.
8
Ozo Ozo is a swift hero, very hard to kill unless you have your ultimate with you. Because with your ultimate he will be almost instantly killed. Watch out for his ultimate knock back as it can dump you right in the middle of the enemies' hand. Also don't engage him alone as his A Skill will easily clear your munions leaving you practically powerless.
9
Vox Vox is dangerous and even though he has mid ranged attacks he can really rack up hits quickly to kill you. His ultimate is also a bad thing to be around because he can catch up to you easily and start bursting your face off and you won't be able to run or use your ultimate.
10
Skaarf Skaarf is the most dangerous out of them all. Why? Because he has really good burn damage from his flames and and poke you easily. Also his ultimate flamethrower can really be hazardous. If you see him use his ultimate don't hesitate to use yours because it can not only save you and your teammates by its healing ability, but also slow Skaarf down from setting everything on fire.
10
Taka Taka is especially dangerous in that you can't spot him very easily. He is slippery too so not very easy to kill. However, if you do verse a Taka then remember to hide behind your team and don't show yourself until the Taka does. Once you see that Taka instantly use your Spontaneous Combustion to kill him and get him out of the way first. It'll be a huge plus for you so that you can move freely and do you. Also in the early game phase try not to encounter him as much because he is lethal especially to a squishy Petal that doesn't have Spontaneous Combustion.

Quick Guide Top

Petal is so much more versatile than before. Petal is able to play as a Lane, Jungle, or Roam since the devs have allowed her to with the Ironguard Contract feature. However, she is now actually better at Jungle than Lane. And I would go ahead and say she is pretty much a Jungle role hero and not so much a Roam. Here is why, she can easily slip away to save herself, she can chase down an enemy trying to escape, she can kill jungle monsters super fast and even steal the enemies quickly. All in all this makes a perfect jungle hero. Once you try this build she won't disappoint you like she did in the past updates.

In this guide there will be multiple build paths depending on how your game is situated. I did my best to put together a guide that may solve multiple problems from various situations.

How To Use Her Skills Effectively Top

First make sure that you read everything about Petal's skills and know how they work. This will give you important information that you may not know about. Once you read about all the skills then we can discuss how to use her skills effectively below it.

HEROIC PERK: Munions - Petal controls three ??munion?? pets. Pets have 8 (+11 per level, +45% of crystal) damage. A few moments after Petal plants a seed, it will automatically sprout a munion, up to a maximum of 3 pets. In addition, basic attacks mark enemy heroes with sunlight. If a munion bites a marked target, the sunlight is consumed and Petal gains 10-40% attack speed (level 1-12) for 1.5 seconds.

A-SKILL: Brambleboom Seeds - Petal plants a Brambleboom seed directly in front of her. Seeds near Petal will sprout into pets after a brief delay, up to 3 pets. Seeds have a small vision radius and survive for 20 seconds. If an enemy steps on a seed, the seed explodes and knocks the enemy back. Petal stores up to 6 seeds as charges, gaining a seed every 15 seconds. Petal gains charges faster the more charges she already has.

DETAILS:
Seed & Pet HP: 4/5/6/7/9
Heal/sec: 5/6/7/8/13
Defense: 10/14/18/22/26
Damage: 80/135/190/245/300 (+1 Crystal)
Pet Level: 1/2/3/4/6

B-SKILL: Trampoline! - Activate when standing on a boom seed to trampoline off it and launch forward in Petal??s facing direction. Using this ability will rally all pets back to Petal??s location.

ULTIMATE SKILL: Spontaneous Combustion - Petal commands her pets to explode one by one, slowing and dealing splash damage to nearby enemies while healing nearby allies. Pets are invincible during channeling. Detonated pets become seeds.

DETAILS:
Damage Per Explosion: 180/240/300 (+0.7 Crystal)
Heal: 70/90/110 (+0.25 Crystal)

EFFECTIVE SKILL USE: In this part of the chapter I will talk about all the tips and tricks you could use for each skill with Petal. So lets get on with it...

A-Skill Now this skill is pretty much the most important skill that Petal needs. Contained within this one skill are lots of abilities. Not only does it spawns Munions or help her get away with her Trampoline ability, but it also knocks the enemies who step on it back and that is important in that it gives you some vision and slows the enemy down. Especially when your team is trying to take the Kracken, Gold Mine, or steal some of the enemy's jungle monsters. It will save your life a lot of the times. However, this only works when you place them strategically and remember to not use all your seeds up or else you won't have any left. So save at least one so that you can escape if you need to.

How to place them "strategically"? Well, its almost common sense that if you want the enemy to stay away then of course place them where you think that the enemy will come from. You could also place one right between the bushes by the jungle shop when you are about to look into the enemy's bush. That way when there are actually enemy's then when they chase you; they will get knocked back and have some damage already dealt to them.

Petal's Unique Range Top

USE HER RANGE: Petal has more range than you would expect and that makes her very able to chase down targets to finish a kill. However, that isn't the only thing she can do with her flexible range.

KITING THROUGH WALLS: The great thing about Petal and her munions is that she has the ability to keep targeting an enemy hero because her munions give her vision on the target. This allows her to shoot at the enemy through walls as the enemy tries to run to their base. Also it gives Petal some room between the enemy and her in case its someone who is lethal in close combat.

CHASING HEROES: Petal is very capable of chasing down an enemy because her munions. Then their is the fact that she has the skill Trampoline! which allows her to jump in any directions she wants to. So in theory you could jump towards a target to catch up or if you are running away then you could jump away while kiting the enemy trying to chase you.

VISION: Keeping vision on the enemy will not only allow yourself to finish the enemy off, but also allow your teammates to target the enemy too. For example, Celeste and her ultimate skill, Solar Storm.

WALL FARMING: If you have a smart roam teammate he might place a mine right under a jungle monster for vision. This is a plus in that it gives you information on if the monster has spawned and if the enemy is taking it. However, this also allows you to use your range more effectively and shoot through the walls for some farm without having the trouble of being in a dangerous position or receive damage from the monster. This works for pretty much all ranged heroes. Although Petal is unique in that her munions will go around the walls just to attack the monster and as munions walk around the wall they will also give you vision in the bush it walked in.
