Adagio's Kit Top

Adagio is a hero that is most useful when his abilities are utilized efficiently. Adagio's abilities cost a huge amount of energy, so using them freely will leave you with no energy, therefore with a useless adagio. to get the most out of an adagio i recommend jungling with a melee hero. His A ability, gift of fire, is the key element of his kit. It's the source of your energy regeneration and your CC when paired with his ult, Verse of Judgement. If you're not going with a CP build, using your A ability when there aren't any enemies around(Heroes, creeps, minions) using your A ability is just a waste as the heal is insignificant mid to late game. early on it will make a difference but if you keep healing your carries after the 8 minute mark it's not going to help. I prefer to be paired with a melee jungler when playing support adagio because when your melee dives the enemy, you can cast your heal to not only to increase the sustain of your jungler, but also to get your energy back. Combine it with your B ability, Agent of Wrath, and your jungler will receive a damage buff as well as 20% extra damage dealt to the enemies burning from arcane fire. By utilizing your abilities correctly and managing your energy efficiently you shouldn't have much problems dealing with early jungle skirmishes.

Early Game Top

When being paired with a Rona, Adagio shouldn't have a hard time against the enemy junglers. When you start jungling, make sure to not over-use your B ability as you don't have your source of energy regen yet. start with the back camps, buff your jungler when taking the back twin creeps and make sure that both you and your jungler are level 2 before the first engage. After the first rotation i grab either an oakheart or T1 boots depedning on the enemies abilities to engage/disengage. If you need to be able to catch up to them or to run away from them i grab boots, if i know they won't have much of a chance to run away i grab the oakheart. Keeping vision up is important as it'll navigate your jungler on where to dive and when to dive. Your aggression will be rewarded. if everything went well and you were able to dominate early game, you shouldn't have a hard time snowballing the enemy.

Mid Game Top

By the time when it's time to capture the gold mine you should have the lead or at least be even. Depending on the enemy team comp, by the time you get to level 6 you might have to grab a reflex block. if the enemy has only 1 stun i usually don't go for it. Reason behind this is your jungler will dive the enemy or the enemy will engage and burn up their stun so you won't have much trouble using your ult. if the enemy has at least 2 stuns grabbing a reflex block becomes necessity as they will most likely save their second stun to cut off your ultimate. Depending on the amount of enemy CC you will either finish your Crucible first or your Fountain. In most cases i try to go for Fountain of Renewal first but in some cases you might have to prioritize a crucible. Keeping vision up is important. Don't forget about energy management.

Mid-Late, Late Game Top

At the 15 minute mark, you should have AT LEAST 1 T3 item finished. If you're planning to be more aggressive, i would recommend upgrading your contract to a warhorn. this will allow for you or your team to catch uo with fleeing enemies. If you need to be more on the careful and defensive side, i'd say go for crucible. the barrier will either help to block a stun off or give you the cutting edge health barrier to finish off the enemy or to run away. If everything went according to what i said in the early game you shouldn't be struggling too much in teamfights. if you manage to capture the kraken grab a crystal infusion, The Cooldown Reduction as well as CP it gives works really well with adagio.

NOTE Top

This is my personal experience with adagio and my point of view on how should be played. i played him mostly paired with a rona, but it works with other melee heroes as well. Credits for this guide goes to me, RebelKwin and my jungle partner, RebelAkuma who asked me to try it out.
