Starting up. Top

For using alpha, you need to be careful. Even though she is an offensive jungle warrior, she needs time before her reboot is effective in battle. You want to level up a few times before the reboot is good enough to let you survive a fight. It's best to start off attacking monsters and picking off enemies until the reboot has enough power to let you live through it.
The best way to begin a battle with alpha is to stick near your teammates or turrets. If you stray too far or begin to get outnumbered you should pull back before you are killed or forced to reboot. Make sure you have a ranged hero or a support to back you up or help you retreat.
Another way to play alpha is to attack straight in, retreat as you begin to loose too much health, then use warp to return to base and heal. Get as much money as possible and stick to hiding in grass. Target weak and dying enemies to cause the biggest effect and chase them down if you can kill them before they return to the turrets.
Remember: alpha can take about three shots from turrets at most before she needs to run, use your abilities to hunt and kill your enemies.
Finally, use the recommended gear from the shop.

Threats. Top

Ranged heroes are the biggest threat to alpha. Heroes like Samuel are especially dangerous. Alpha's health is relatively low compared to others, and she is very much a quick attack character, but she needs to get close to be useful. Ranged heros or quick heros can easily kill or escape her. The best way for alpha to work is to lure the enemy team away from their turrets and each other. Once you have your ultimate you can lure them away from their turrets and team, attack them as much as possible, then self destruct and deal as much damage as possible.
Unfortunately, if ranged heros stitch together, they can shred her health very quickly. Samuel especially. He has several nasty abilitys which seem to work best against alpha, and drain her health with amazing speed. The tip is to use grass so they can't target you and try to either loose them and warp to base, or lure them to your team or turret. If your lucky, you can lure them back as they kill you, then whilst you reboot your turret kills them. Though this can be risky if there are more than one of them.

Abilities. Top

Alphas natural ability allows her to regenerate once after she is killed. It needs to charge, but can save you and possibly make a push succeed. You just need to watch out for the recharge, as it takes a while to actually work. This works well with her core charge, as core charge lets her deal extra damage with up to three stacks. This allows her to either work as a defensive block or as an offensive pusher.
Her other two abilities work well together, her prime directive and termination protocol allow her to close the distance on enemies before dealing a huge amount of damage. Her prime directive allows her to suddenly dash to an opponent, but requires her to first select them. This can go wrong is they are too far away or too quick. You can also accidentally select the wrong hero, which can be fatal.
Use prime directive to kill fleeing enemies or move away from something toward an enemy. It can be used to attack and, if your lucky, retreat.
