Introduction Top

Ardan is conceived as being a support hero, under the role of Captain. He can be played as well Carry, either under Weapon Power or Crystal Power items. Knowing how to build Ardan is very important and each build can make a huge difference in each game. All in all, you can build Ardan in many ways, but there are a number of items that are a MUST when building him as support hero.

Early-Mid-Late Game Top

I recommend starting the game with an Oakheart and an IRONGUARD CONTRACT, but that depends from the team comp that you are using (if you have a jungle hero that farms slower and isn't ready for early team fights - Krul/ Alpha) and also on the enemy team. If you prefer going for an other item, I recommend going for either double Oakheart or Oakheart + Light Shield (If you want to finish Fountain quicker/ enemy team has heavy early CP power).

As next item I recommend the Sprint Boots, as they will give you the needed mobility and also the possibility to rotate quick or escape enemy invasions. Upgrade those boots to Travel Boots once you finished the Fountain.

Don't forget to buy in between mines and flares. First round of mines should come around minute 4 (try to have 2 mines, 2 flares all the time) and then try to always save one of each until you have full build.

Fountain, fountain, fountain! First finished item that you'll need. Start going for Light Armor next (if enemy team has a WP carry) or an extra Light Shield (if double CP).

This should be your build around minute 10 if the farming went well. If you're dominated by enemy team go directly for the counter items (Atlas/Crucible), so your carries can try to do a comeback or resist till they have the late game advantage.

If you,re team is dominating/falling behind, try to go for the War Threads to be able for you and your team to chase/escape enemy players/team fights. They also give you extra health and speed which will help you and your team later in game.

The OBLIGATORY items for Late Game are:
- Fountain
- Crucible (against stuns or hooks)
- Atlas (WP or high Attack Speed)
- War Threads

Extra items for countering:
- Contraption ( against Taka, Kestrel, Flicker)
- Shiversteel (against Range Heroes)
- Extra Metal Jacket (if you are playing against heavy WP Heroes)
- Aegis (if you are playing against heavy CP Heroes)
- Slumbering Husk ( against high burst heroes)
