SAW More obnoxious than a threat. A good Saw will use his second ability and wipe all your munions, leaving your damage short-handed.

Glaive Petal is squishy, even with defense gear she can be brought down quickly. Watch Glaive's knockback for this reason.

Taka This guy is the real threat. If he catches you out in the open without help, there is no escaping hi great rundown abilities.

Starting the lane Top

First (this is for your teammates)
If the other team chooses two laners, leave petal alone with them unless she pings you to help. Yes, this means she might be pushed, and sitting on your turret, but that's perfect. This keeps her safe from ganks AND with it being a 2v1, she will level much faster than the enemy laners. This is actually ideal for Petal.

Now for petal...
Go into your lower bush corner at the middle of the lane and start planting seeds. This puts them close enough to your lane minions to heal them but out of site of your enemy hero. Stay in lane as long as possible. Don't go to the shop until there isn't anymore farming you can do, or your hp is low.

If it's a simple 1v1 in the lane, you will shine. Most likely you will push the enemy back to their turret. Don't stay that far away from your turret (You're Petal - you will die). Use this time to go to the shop OR poke the enemy hero and run away. By doing this the enemy minions will chase. This will allow you to keep farming in a safer environment.

Mid Game Top

By mid game you should have already collected Shiversteel. This is your combo for your Spontaneous Combustion. If you haven't been able to pick off your enemy laner, you will now. Auto-attack your enemy and use Shiversteel. When your munions reach them it's time for destruction! If your facing off with SAW use Spontaneous Combustion when he uses his Suppressing Fire to keep your munions alive and then auto-attack+Shiversteel. Beware of Saw's Spin Up and try to keep up with it. If he's moving slow avoid attacking, if he's moving regular or just used Roadie Run now is your chance to capitalize. NEVER over-extend your lane alone. YOU WILL DIE.

By this time you should also be floating back and forth into the jungle helping your team complete their objectives. Never enter team fights in the jungle by flanking the enemy. YOU WILL DIE. Stay behind your tank. If your teammate decides to 1v3 the enemy team, don't waste your time going to help. You will both end up dying. Remember Petal is a SNIPER so play like a sniper.

End Game Top

By now you should have a lot of kills. A LOT. Your bread and butter is Shiversteel and Spontaneous Combustion Work with your team. Focus the same target they are attacking and blow them up. If they are playing off of you then focus the target with the least amount of defense gear (not the tank!!!). The best way to win is working together not the gear. A pro can lose to noobs if the noobs are working together. SO WORK TOGETHER.

CP vs. WP Top

The reason I prefer CP over WP with Petal is the buffs. With CP your burst damage is insane with your ult. CP gives your pets more damage AND more hp. Meaning they live longer and do way more damage, giving you more room to stay out of target. While WP might give you more sustain damage, that's all it does. CP gives you more sustain and much more burst.

Shiversteel vs. Frostburn Top

This is more of a preference. I like Shiversteel more because it gives me more hp and gives me slow on demand, for much longer. Frostburn is nice but activates immediately, meaning you need to use your ult immediately. I prefer to wait a second to use my ult since generally people pop Crucible at the beginning of a team fight. All in all it comes down to more control.

Alt Items Top

If you're having a hard time staying alive use more defensive items. Depending on if the enemy is WP or CP heavy, gear for it.

If your having no problem living then hit up more CP items like Aftershock and Eve of Harvest. Go Broken Myth if the enemy is stacking shield.

Recap Top

This is basic guide to CP Petal. This isn't the end-all by any means. I usually switch around with a couple of the alt items per game depending on what my enemy is doing. I do believe CP is more suitable for Petal. It gives her pets the damage and makes her more viable. With her pets doing the damage you are able to stay back a little more, meaning you can do the damage while avoiding being the target. Living is more important than killing, but doing both is what an AC needs to do.
