Early Game Top

The very beginning

At the very beginning of the game, you need to be taking those minions. I find it ok at my skill tier to poke out a little bit for the first two waves of minions, but after that you need to stay near that turret and be protected.

Early Team Fights

If you haven't already seen, Kestrel's early game is so strong. I usually see a lot of quarreling in the jungle when I'm up in the lane, and I will go down and help. Hopefully your at level 2, because that mist will be very useful right now. You let the support engage, and the jungler closely behind, and you just fire those arrows in the back. If you've done it properly, then you should be seeing the enemy team run away from yours. You then poof away, and chase them down to get a kill. This can be very hard to accomplish in the early game with or , because they can just jump or dash away. If you know that your not going to get the kill, then you can just leave it be, and steal some farm.
(By this time you should be at your 1st "Next Buy")

Mid Game Top

Getting the first hit

In the mid game, I will see supports not engaging, on any team, and that will usually end up with a death of you, or your jungler, and the same for the enemy team. So what needs to happen, is you use your poof, and get a look at where everyone is. If their in the bush, then let the support go in. If not, then just let it be and go shop or something. But in the scenario that there is the team there, then you have to turn back to behind your other players, and start sniping away. (At this point you should be at your 3rd "Next Buy")

Kestrel's downfall

Kestrel is not her strongest during this time. She hasn't gained a lot of health, and the other team is probably buying defense, rendering kestrel a target, and a fairly weak carry. If you paid attention to the "Getting the first hit", then you will know that it is essential to be disappearing for your support to follow. In the hopefully rare occasion that you didn't get the first hit, then you need to use those boots, and get to the back lines. This can turn the table a fair amount, but it all depends on how well your teammates know what a valuable player you are, and how to treasure you.

Late Game Top

Properly Acing

In the late game, It's all about those times when your team gets lucky, and you get that Ace that can push a turret or two, or get the kraken. But it's the way that you do this that matters. First of all, get behind your teammates. I can't even say it enough how treasurable you are, and that you're such an asset to your team. Hopefully your support is back on track, and you don't have to go invisible anymore. The support should figure out where's who, and then engage. With the jungler closely behind, you just need to snipe those arrows. Then the big plays come. You either run to the back of the other team by disappearing, or you get around a wall to the back, and lay a trap. The you wait, and let them run into the mist, and explode their heads off.
