Flicker is basically if Dr. House MD was a furry entomologist and I love him for it. Flicker is surprisingly powerful for a roamer, once you get more of your build going you can get a decent amount of kills.
A few tips: Your B is amazing. It's amazing for farm. It's amazing to slow your enemies. It's amazing for damage over time. Utilize it effectively. Your A is difficult to master especially if you're more used to Lance's A when it comes to rooting abilities. Try to time it so you put it down 3-4 seconds before an enemy steps on it, or use it to deal some quick damage to an escaping foe, you might get a kill. Ult is best used when you're about to gank or initiate a teamfight, when you're all running towards an enemy or away and no one is being heavily damaged. Make sure you don't use your ult right when your teammates are attacking because that's a waste. Remember that your ult is global, no matter where your teammates are, it'll pop for them.
Once you have Crucible, Fountain, and Stormcrown, you can solo the kraken, don't be afraid to do it if your teammates died for an ace lategame.
Don't bother buying a Contraption, it's a waste of space. Just get one or two scout traps for tri-brush and for the Kraken pit, and then buy flares occasionally. Flares are best when you're facing an enemy Taka because of his invis, or Koshka because of her speed and mobility, or if the enemy is actually smart enough to place a bunch of scout traps against you. For the most part though, Flicker is the safest hero to scout with, just wait in brush until your passive activates invisibility, then run to the next brush and face check it, and then repeat.
Fountain and crucible are obvious staples of the Roam position. More HP and defense and some good utility for the team. Same with War Treads, pretty obvious. Stormcrown because Flicker is only ok without it, but having it turns you into an objective taking machine and really improves your farm. Try to use your invis to sneak into enemy jungle and steal some minions if you're ahead.
Aftershock deals more damage with your B and A and reduces cooldown on your ult, as well as providing some crystal regen which you very much need, although Stormcrown helps with both of those a bit already.
Shiversteel makes you unbelievably hard to escape, your B will slow someone down a huge amount but then Shiversteel will add insult to injury. You've got them on lockdown.
