Thanks for the comment! I really appreciate the feedback.

to answer some of your questions:

A lot of factors can influence my game to game build when I am playing Vox (or any character really). Just some examples: having competent teammates, getting behind/ahead early on, playing lane or jungle, and counter building my opponents…

I prefer to start Vox in the jungle and will usually only start lane if both of my teammates are melee characters. Since a good majority of the games I play are matches where 1 or more of my teammates are unfamiliar to me… I use this build with the assumptions that I will be jungling and that my jungling partner isn’t going to tank the minions with an Ironguard Contract and let me last hit. If that were the case, I probably would skip over Ironguard Contract for an item that would increase jungling speed.
I buy Ironguard Contract when I go jungle because of the bonus gold rewarded when you take 5 hits (with a 10 second cooldown). This effect is especially useful in the early game when each minion camp you encounter will land at least 5 hits on you with plenty time in-between camps for the 10 second cool down.
I also find Ironguard Contract beneficial in the mid-late game when your team is moving as a unit. Whether your team is killing minions in the jungle or lane you are still getting a percentage of the gold even if you are not last-hitting each target. This encourages you to move as a group and be generous to your low-health-teammate by letting him get the last hit on the horned healing minion when you did most of the damage because you will still be receiving a portion of the gold :) ha
With these benefits, Ironguard Contract more than pays for itself each game. Technically, you only have to earn more than 125 gold with it to make it pay for itself (bought for 250 gold and resold for 125 gold). With earning 20 gold every time it’s effect activates, it only needs to occur a little over 6 times (125/20 = 6.25) to have bought itself. This isn’t even taking into consideration the 30% gold received from nearby teammate’s kills.
I will usually hold on to my Ironguard Contract until late game once it starts getting in the way of me building my next tier 3 item (which honestly will vary game to game depending on what/when I have to start counter building). I have found that in the time period that I have Ironguard Contract I earn enough extra gold due to its effects to pay for it multiple times over. With gold being the only currency used in buying items to increase your characters stats, it would make sense that the more gold at your disposal the better your character would be. My thoughts are that the short disadvantage from not instantly buffing attack speed or crystal power is outweighed by the overall increase in gold income you receive.

Correct me if my logic is wrong here…
I calculated out the difference in damage output between starting with Swift Shooter or Crystal Bit.
With Crystal Bit (due to Vox’s Heroic Perk) you will deal an extra 10 damage per basic attack (50% of his crystal power, which will be 20, is 10) as bonus damage. With his basic attack at level 1 dealing 24 damage the new total damage per hit will be 34 damage. Lets say at level 1 with 100% attack speed Vox roughly lands 7 hits on a target in 10 seconds. With 34 damage per hit and roughly 7 hits in 10 seconds Vox deals 238 damage. (roughly 23.8dps)

When starting with Swift Shooter Vox will only deal 24 damage each hit but will now hit with 120% attack speed. If Vox roughly lands 7 hits in 10 seconds at 100% attack speed then he will roughly land 8.4 hits in 10 seconds. 8.4 hits x 24 damage per hit = 201.6 damage in 10 seconds. Roughly 20.16dps.

Of course this only applies for level 1 and slightly changes as stats increase with level. Both increased attack speed and increased crystal power are beneficial for Vox, but if my above math is correct…crystal power is roughly better. (notice how many times I used the word “roughly” above). Most of my concerns for inaccuracy are from my method of obtaining how many hits Vox will land in 10 seconds. Seeing as how i could not find a rate (basic attacks per second) associated with 100% attack speed. I came to 7 hits from timing myself multiple times at the beginning of practice. He hit slightly over 7 hits in 10 seconds so I decided to play it safe and do the math for damage output using 8 hits in 10 seconds as 100% attack speed as well.

Damage in 10 seconds with Crystal Bit = 34 damage per hit x 8 hits in 10 seconds= 272 damage.

Damage in 10 seconds with Swift Shooter= 24 damage per hit x 9.6 hits in 10 seconds (8 x 1.2 = 9.6)= 230.4 damage.

So even if I rounded up his hit (from slightly over 7 hits in 10 seconds to 8) it wouldn’t change the result that Crystal Bit is slightly more beneficial.

As for your thoughts on maxing ability B first over A… I think I might have to side with you on this one :).

I was upgrading ability A for the Resonance that it applies with the first hit when in Overdrive. However increasing A to lvl 5 only decreases cool down by 1% and increases weapon ratio by 10%.
Increasing B to lvl 5 decreases cool down by 4 seconds and increases resonance damage bonus by 45%, as well as slow at center/edge by 4% and increases energy cost by 10. I think the added resonance damage bonus alone might make ability B the better choice to overdrive over ability A. Thanks for the advice!

In response to your comment about Shatterglass/Alternating Current being a nice core I totally agree. With his Heroic Perk already increasing each basic attack by 50% of his crystal power, getting shatter glass for raw crystal power and alternating current for the attack speed, crystal power, and added 115% of crystal power every other hit, makes Vox deal consistently high damage.

2 Shatterglass is definitely hard to get. I try to get 1 Shatterglass as my first tier 3 item, but usually don’t aim for the second Shatterglass till after I’ve already gotten Alternating Current, at least Sprint Boots (probably Travel Boots) and at least one defensive item (counter building opponent) preferably tier 3. I included the 2nd Shatterglass for those few games that you get 5+ tier 3 items.

why an ironguard contract? Your tank should get it if you are jungler and if you are a laner then I dont feel its a good idea at all. I would suggest swift shooter to start with more attack speed.
When you going crystal, you should max the B first in my opinion, as the A only increase the weapon ratio :/ and give you only a little cooldown reduction.
shatterglasss algernating current is a nice core. 2 shatterglass is hard to get ^^ because you need to spend some gold in defense too :)
Have a nice weeekend
