Threat Hero Notes
1
Ringo All of Ringo's abilities need a target to be useful, so when you're low and you see him using Hellfire Brew, use Kaku for the heal and a Halcyon Potion and run as far as you can.
2
Koshka Koshka is pretty much harmless. Just X-Retsu her and when she ults use Kaiten to dodge it (You're invincible! Wreck that scrub)
2
Glaive If you juke properly, his Afterburn and Bloodsong won't hit and reveal you.
2
Ozo Ozo's abilities need a target, so if you disappear, you're fine.
2
SAW Just wait for his Spin Up to finish before attacking. Watch out for his Suppressing Fire.
2
Skaarf If Skaarf uses Dragon Breath, just run. You'll be revealed, take damage, and get slowed. Avoid his Spitfires and Goops.
2
Taka An enemy Taka probably won't play as well as you. Just kaiten right after he starts to kaiten, so you dodge his and you hit him. The flare guns are for revealing people like him.
3
Blackfeather Blackfeather isn't really dangerous, since most of his abilities won't reveal you. Just make sure he doesn't hit you with On Point.
4
Fortress Fortress's Attack of the pack is the only ability that can actually reveal you. don't Kaku before his Law of the Claw.
4
Joule Just watch out for Joule's Thunderstrike and Big Red Button. It's pretty obvious where she's going to jump.
4
Rona You need to avoid her Into The Fray and Red Mist, and you're fine.
5
Petal You need to stay away from her seeds and you're fine. don't get caught in her Spontaneous Combustion.
6
Celeste Celeste is yellow because all of her ablilities and attacks reveal you, so even if you use Kaku, she can still see you.
6
Reim Reim's Chill Winds is annoying. Try not to get hit by all his ranged abilities.
7
Adagio Adagio's slow is the only thing that will get you killed. You should be able to escape his Verse of Judgement. This is what your boots are for.
7
Krul You just need to disappear when he gets all eight stacks on you. Run around him until the debuff fades and attack again. Watch out for From Hell's Heart.
7
Skye Skye is only good if she locks on to you or hits you with Forward Barrage. If she hits you, you're dead. Death From Above will stop you from escaping and she can gap close with Suri Strike. Just DON'T GET CAUGHT BY FORWARD BARRAGE.
8
Ardan Ardan is only annoying because his gauntlet stops you from leaving. BUT, you can survive it if you can kaiten to a minion just outside the gauntlet or by surviving for 4 seconds and then you kaku, so you reappear when the gauntlet disappears, letting you escape.
8
Vox Vox is almost red because he can use resonance to see you, but can't do much to get away except for sonic zoom, since you can use x-retsu to gap close.
8
Kestrel Kestrel's invisibility stun and glimmershot can kill you instantly. Weapon Kestrel isn't very powerful, but if she's building crystal, watch out. Use your flare guns to reveal her, even if you are in
9
Catherine If Catherine manages to stun or silence you, you're dead. Just Kaku if she uses Merciless Pursuit so she can't target you
10
Phinn Phinn is your worst nightmare. If he hits you with quibble, you're dead. If he catches you with forced accord, you're dead. If he uses polite company before you can get away, you're revealed and your enemies have bonus health too. And you're still dead.

The Intro for the Intro Top

Hi, i'm IvanDaGreat (bad name, but I picked it when I was a kid a long time ago and I don't want to pay to rename myself). I've been playing since the game launched in November 2014. Taka is one of my favourite heroes, since his ability cooldowns are short and he can disappear to escape. I've been experimenting with different Taka builds for a while, and I think I've created a great build, if I do say so myself (overconfident much).

So yeah, let's start.

The Real Intro (More Like Ability Descriptions) Top

Abilities:

Kaiten:

So Kaiten is an ability that helps you survive, as you're invulnerable while using it. It's literally just a Reflex Block that does damage and has an infinite barrier with a 1 second duration. Most people will just use it right away though, so if you're facing another Taka, you should wait a bit and use it right before their Kaiten is half finished, so you block theirs and yours hits. You should always upgrade this first and max it out.

Kaku:

If you are low on health, use Kaku. It lets you escape or stick you your opponents invisibly and regain health at the same time. It's the only reason that Taka is slippery. Always juke them when escaping, and if you don't know what juking is, it's pretty much faking going one way and actually going another in VainGlory (it can be other things as well in other MOBAs). Don't juke them if you know there are enemy Scout Traps nearby. Upgrade 2nd and don't take the overdrive.

X-Retsu:

X-Retsu is pretty much just a gap closer. When you use it, your target bleeds, so if you have your X-Retsu up and they're getting away to the safety of their turret with low health, you can X-Retsu them and run if you're not willing to use all of your abilities to kill them (the mortal wound will kill them probably). Max this ability out.

The Battle For The Halcyon Fold Has Begun! Top

The game has started!
Get your Swift Shooter and Halcyon Potions before the countdown finishes (your other jungler should have Ironguard Contract otherwise you shouldn't be using this guide. Lower tier roamers usually fail to get attacked once for the health regen and bonus gold, so be careful.). After finishing one round of minions in your jungle, buy your Sprint Boots and some Scout Traps or Flare Guns. Find out how the enemy junglers are doing. If one is low, kill them and chase the other out of the jungle. Immediately take all of their minion camps (don't wait for respawns, if they're dead, leave them) and go take your camps again. If they aren't low, just take your camps again. Buy a Piercing Spear and a Six Sins for your Tension Bow, and check the other junglers again. Kill if low and take their minion camps. If not take your own camps again. By now, you should have enough gold for a Tension Bow and Travel Boots. You should be at least level 6. Upgrade your X-Retsu and head up to the lane brush to kill the enemy laner. Don't forget to use a Flare Gun on the other bush before attacking.

As of update 1.14, the jungle minions do a lot more damage, so try to jungle with a roamer. You should know this, but you should start at the farthest jungle camp (the two minion camp) and work your way towards the first jungle camp. Also, if your teammates have good early damage, 3 person jungle invade, then gank. Your support should gank more than you.

Your Warning Top

NEVER ATTACK WITHOUT ANOTHER TEAMMATE TO HELP.
IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT'S A LANER OR ROAMER.

If you don't listen to me, it's not my problem.

Are You Level 6 yet? Top

If 5 minutes passed and you still aren't level 6, you're probably going to lose unless your teammates can carry you. You should also have your Tension Bow, Swift Shooter and Travel Boots.

What Did You Buy? Top

By now, you should have those items I mentioned earlier. Buy one tier one defensive item and start building towards your Tornado Trigger and a Heavy Steel.

Another Suggestion Top

Don't disappear to get close to the enemy. Just use X-Retsu. X-Retsu and other aimed target abilities actually have a slightly larger range than shown. Plus, the hero will walk to the enemy target until they are in range, so you can walk a little out of the bush and they won't notice, as immediately after, you're attacking them.

Where Should You Place Mines? Top

So This Is The Fold:

I will be making updates and using suggestions. I'll add more chapters soon. Go win over the Halcyon Fold for me.
