Lance Lance can output tons of weapon damage early on. Don't underestimate him, dodge his root and keep your distance!
4
Catherine Catherine Is on this list just because she can be annoying with her countless stuns. Be careful against chain stuns and use your ultimate wisely while up against her.
5
Alpha Alpha is definitely a tough to deal with once she gets onto you. She's really tanky with two lives?!? Keep your distance and shut her down early!
5
Glaive Glaive. A very bursty, tanky front liner. Given the fact that adagio isn't very mobile, Glaive will be looking for an opportunity to Afterburn you. Buy a reflex and he's dealt with.
5
Joule Joule, somewhat of an uncommon hero these past few patches, but don't over look the amount of damage she can do with her stun and ultimate with a crystal build. Teamed up with a Catherine, she can give you some trouble. Buy a reflex a little earlier than usual.

7
Krul If playing Adagio in jungle make sure to flare that bush, because Krul will not hesitate to rush you if given the chance.
7
Taka Taka taka taka. Everyone's favorite. (not) This hero's kit is really punishing if you can't get ahold of him. He reduces your self heal by 33% and he can easily dodge your ultimate with his Kaiten. Such a strong opponent. Shut him down early if you can!
8
Rona I know what you're thinking. Rona?!? This hero is great at gap closing and sticking onto a carry. Watch out for her Ultimate.

10
Skaarf Skaarf may be squishy but he has the damage and the range to give you a hard time in lane. Dodge those Spitfires!
10
Phinn Phinn is almost a 100% pick in ranked games and he provides ridiculous amounts of CC . (crowd control) Late game he will give you tons of troubles. Block that pull and dodge those stuns!

Early Game Aggression Top

Adagio really strives in bullying the enemy laner or packing a punch if starting out in jungle. Focus on early aggression and farming up as much as possible. Rotating with your team to fight in jungle or gank lane is recommended to give you an early lead so you can continue to dominate the game from there. Keep in mind that adagio falls off the later the game goes, so really pressure your opponents.

Tips For Laning and Fighting with Adagio Top

Adagio is unique for being able to regenerate energy while dealing damage to any source of enemy with Arcane fire is applied to them. Arcane fire is produced whenever adagio heals and ally or minion. The burn will only affect enemies in close range of the target in which you healed. Take note that if adagio heals himself he slows all nearby enemies for 0.7 seconds as well. Using a combo of Arcane fire and his Agent of Wrath ability (B) can lead to crazy amounts of damage. The ability buffs 5 of your basic attacks and 7 when overdriven. If Adagio casts this ability on himself while the enemy is burning he deals more bonus damage! Keep track of where your Fire is to keep your energy topped up and remember to buff yourself to potentially deal as much damage as possible.

Build path and Itemization Top

Adagio has one of the slower movement speeds, making him vulnerable to the more mobile heroes. I recommend buying a Reflex Block on him every game. I personally say that defense isn't really much needed if you can stay in the backline and position yourself correctly in team fights. Now of course going against a double weapon comp, you should definitely pick up at least a coat of plates. Wouldn't hurt you to buy metal jacket early either. I know I added Aegis AND Metal jacket at the end of my build, but that is just depending on how he game goes and who you are up against. Going against double weapon? No stuns? No meed for an Aegis. Going against double crystal? No need for armor. It all varies, just make sure to position yourself and you'll be all good during fights.
