Ethos is credibility, not only in the intro did I say I played a lot of drafting mode in dota 2 but I am POA rank in this game and drafting is not only one of my favorite parts of this game but it is definently my best. Now that we got the serious stuff out of the way I'll tell you about myself, I am a freshmen in high school and really value enjoying life above all else. I'm a lover not a fighter and am very friendly with high GPA. And enough show of lets get to the real guide... Also girls with short hair are totally cute <3

When I saw that draft more is going to everyone in ranked I thought that this was the perfect time to make a guide because even at my rank I have seen people draft... Questionably. As an ex dota 2 player drafting in captains mode is given me more knowledge. And of course vainglory draft is much simpler. In this guide I will tell you the most important part of the game being the draft, a bad composition never wins, unless the enemy team feeds :3 alright now let's break down what we will talk about:
BANZZZZZ very important, ban the right hero!
COMMUNICATION I can't stress this enough!!!
PICKINNGGGGG pick the right hero. AT THE RIGHT TIME!
COUNTERPICKING make sure to make the enemy team cry >:)
additionally note that I didn't include supports in the threat meter I will also talk about that!
And even more is that this was written in 1.15 but it the same knowledge will carry over to 1.16
Banning faze clan Top
This is probably the most important part of the draft, right now there is a mindset to ban adagio or blackfeather and then the other team bans the one you didn't ban.
Now if you don't want to face either of these two hetos this is great however if you want one of them do this very simple thing: don't ban one of them. This will force your opponent to pick their poison, and you will get either adagio or blackfeather. Obviously these two aren't going to be as good next patch but this is just for reference.
Now if someone has done this to you and you have to ban either adagio or blackfeather the one to ban is fairly simple: neither. This will now force your opponent to chose blackfeather or adagio and now you atleast get one of them.
Another way to ban is to try to set up for a certain hero to succeed: example kestrel,a hero I like, you could ban taka which is a very strong counter to kestrel.
Banning a support is also very good because the support that you ban provides lots of needed CC and if you are playing a hero like Skye, then don't underestimate be value of banning a support!
Communication Top
use thumbs up and thumbs down. Honestly I think that the devs should put a chat section in the draft mode for better communication... But that's just me
Honestly though it is really hard to communicate and I really think HINT HINT WINK WJNK that there should be a video in the academy for basic signaling in the draft mode.
However if you are a god and can communicate to other players, user that! It's good
Pick the right hero Top
Now we all know you want to choose ( insert hero here ) except they just choose ( direct counter to your hero) with that known and you about to pick, do you think it's s good idea to pick the hero you want? Hate to break it to you but no! It's not worth it at all! Please don't choose saw after thy just choose... Wait don't choose saw at all unless you have the push comp.
But seriously know what situations your hero does good in and use the thumbs up and down to show what would work well and what wouldn't. Additionally try to have team synergy: this means that your heros work well together like a saw and adagio, ardan and Rona etc... Further more try to make it so that you don't have two weapon power carries or crystal carries. And finally as a hero like krul. Don't lie to us and say that you are weapon power just say you are utility if you really are because most of the time you are playing utility cmon man get your logic straight!
Counter picking Top
Finally the most important part, counter picking. The hero you want to counter should always be the damage dealer, and definently not the support that's what the support wants you to do. So in a situation that there is no way to eliminate the enemy sniper quickly you would want to pick a hero that can kill a sniper, like taka koshka and blackfeather. However don't put all your focus on the sniper. Make sure that your jungle hero doesn't get dominated by the other jungler. It is not always necessary to invade the jungle but when getting invaded you want to atleat be able to put up a fight. Not only is counter picking important by country building. Make sure your line up of heros can build items to counter the enemy heros because that is very important!
Why u no include supports u racist human Top
Now before you rage that I didn't put supports in he threat category I will tell you why and that is because they are a totally different type of hero. I love playing support... Fortress- that's it- but supports are way different they don't deal the damage they do the dirty work and tank the damage because of this they are great first or second picks as it delays the drafting system and gives more information of the enemy team and what heros you should pick. Most of the time a support you pick should work with your team, and not just effective against the other team. The support I think is the best at the moment in draft is Catherine because there is no way to punish that pick, you just gotta deal with it.
