Vox This matchup is all about skill and who gets more farm. Vox need a lot of money to be efficient, so remember to get a similar amount. Your burst damage beats him everyday of the week! If you can avoid his ultimate you win the fight 8/10 times.
7
Glaive Glaive isn't too horrible... EXCEPT for his afterburn ability and his tremendous amount of burst damage. The trick to beating Glaive is to kite him and use your piles of goop to slow him down when he uses his afterburn.
8
Ardan Ardan is, in my opinion, the best support in the game. He has ample amounts of damage to finish off kills and his kit is very helpful to his jungler. Make sure to pick up a reflex block to evade his ultimate. If you don't have one you're basically dead. After he uses his shield ability you are fine. Just kite and use your goop to slow down the opponent.
9
Catherine She is the bane of any laners existence. Her stun and her silence can make it almost impossible for you to use your abilities. Make sure she is done using her stun BEFORE using your ultimate.
9
Taka Taka... He is one scary champion who is completely built around finding and finishing off squishy characters. He will decimate you if you are not prepared. Make sure to use those flares! Also use scout traps to counteract this fox-in-a-box.

Welcome! Top

Hello All! My name is vbelur12. I've been playing vainglory for around 6-8 months and love it! I have mained Skaarf for many months and think that he is the best laner in the game so far. I hit Tier 9 bronze a month ago all the way from tier seven bronze after I picked up Skaarf. After you master his mechanics he is the scariest champion to be against. He is very challenging to use at first, but really packs a punch. (Ongoing Project of mine. Busy with school, so give me a week or so. I'd appreciate any votes or constructive comments. Thanks!]

Skaarf & His Abilites. Top

Skaarf was the first Mage to ever set foot on the Halycon Fold. He's not dropped in value as a laner since and only gotten stronger. After 1.7, Skaarf is probably the best poke champion in the game, out valuing Celeste by miles. This guide will help new Skaarf players understand the fundamentals and veterans to assert their own knowledge.

Skaarf's Hero Ability Top

Skaarf’s fire-based abilities light the target ablaze, burning enemies for 1.5% of their max health for 3.5 seconds. Each of Skaarf’s basic attacks will refresh the burn duration by 2 seconds, and increase the damage of the burn by another 1.5%, up to 10% per second. Damages-per-stack increases by 1% for every 100 crystal power. This fire does not burn turrets and deals reduced damage to Kraken.

This is Skaarf's bread and butter. After you land a spitfire use your auto-attack to harass in lane

Skaarf & His Abilites(Cont.) Top

This is Skaarf's (A) ability, Spitfire. He shoots out a fireball out of his mouth. This ability gives him a large circular radius to shoot it. The trick to being successful with Skaarf is to be able to predict where your opponent will step. This ability is very rewarding with lots of crystal power, as it will greatly increase

General Strategy and Tips! Top

Before the actual fights break out remember to hit your opponents with your A ability. This will lead to them either having to recall as they are very low, or a more advantageous fight.

If you just picked up Skaarf I recommend that you get an early Void Battery. He uses his energy A LOT and a lot of the time you will notice you do not have much energy left in team fights. This is fine as long as you keep a few halcyon potions on yourself at all times. He is known as a "poke mage" so remember to utilize his Spitfire to the fullest.

His second ability, Goop is a crazy damage dealer and enables you to slow the enemy team down. If the enemy team is grouped up use a spitfire and then a goop immediately afterwards. This will light the entire team and slow them down, leading to a more advantageous fight.
NEVER lead into a fight by using his b ability. This gives the opponent team time to leave the goop. The longer they are in the goop, the more damage it does. His Goop(B) is essential to making the most out of his damage.
