3
Krul He's no threat to you, just spam your 1st and 2nd ability.
3
Skaarf Skaarf is no match to Ringo in lane. At least in my experience..
4
Adagio Don't farm next to your minions, he will burn you as well. You are fast, so it's not hard to escape from his ultimate.
4
Ardan Use Reflex Block while he's going for his ultimate. Try to kill him as last in teamfights.
4
Joule You're quick, so like Adagio, it's easy for you to escape from her ultimate. Look out for her jump.
5
Catherine Get shield for her abilities, then you'll be fine. Like Ardan, focus on killing others instead of her in teamfights.
5
Ringo Ringo players usually go for WP, so get armor and Reflex Block and you're good to go.
6
Koshka Get a Reflex Block and then Aegis. Kill her first.
7
Petal His long range might be a problem at first, but he depends on abilities. Get your shield up!
7
Taka Be careful since he can appear from nowhere. Build shield or armor against him.
8
Glaive Always be aware of his Afterburn. If he knocks you in the middle of enemies, run as fast as you can.
8
SAW CP Saw is a killer if well played so again, shield up!

INTRO Top

Hey everyone, how is everything?

I've been playing VainGlory for almost 2 months now, and Ringo became my favorite laner due to his speed. Weapon Ringo seems more powerful than Crystal since Twirling Silver does only +0.7 Crystal Damage per shot; however with Alternating Current + Shatterglass, your Twirling Silver will do more damage than Weapon. Also playing Crystal Ringo is more fun to play, and you will get more out of your other abilities too.

Try to get this build done and see if it fits your game-play and feel free to share your ideas and experiences in the comments. So let's get started...

-- images, cons, pros and preferred alias will be added soon --

CORE ITEMS Top

Alternating Current : This is the most important item in your build. The sooner you get this, the more you will be ahead of your opponent. AC goes very well with Twirling Silver, since it does great bonus damage in your every other basic attack (Note that Twirling Silver is treated as basic attack).

Eve of Harvest : I get this one as my 2nd tier-3 item after AC, because Ringo is pretty squishy. You will already need battery to spam Twirling Silver constantly, and you do not need Frostburn, because Achilles Shot slows down the enemy anyway. So why not stealing some life a little bit for our squishy hero?

Shatterglass : +115 Crystal Power is to increase the effects of AC and EoH.

Basically after having these 3 items, while you're spamming your Twirling Silver, all your basic attacks will have +215 CP and on top of that, your next basic attacks will deal +211.5 more as bonus damage. Also, the more CP you deal, the more life you steal with EoH.

Journey Boots : Boots boots boots...

SITUATIONAL ITEMS Top

After 4 core items, there is 2 item slots left. These are situational items and you need to pick them according to your opponent's build, hero and how the game is progressing. I usually go for 2 defensive items, because each opponent makes different builds and each opponent's heroes have different abilities. Your first defensive item should be against the opponent laner, such as Saw or Petal etc. and then go for the 2nd defensive item if it's necessary (and most of the times it is). For example, a Weapon Glaive is generally based on Attack Speed and Weapon Power, but Catherine or Koshka are based on their abilities. So you should build armor for opponents like Weapon Glaive, and shield for the opponents like Catherine or Koshka.

1st Choice of Defensive Item

go for Aegis; if your laner opponent builds CP or is an ability-based character such as Adagio or Skaarf. It gives +110 shield which is enough to keep your health up after you get hit with abilities.

go for Metal Jacket; if your laner opponent builds heavy WP. It's a good protection and gives +155 armor.

Let's talk about the 2nd Defensive Item

Look at enemy jungler's builds and make yours accordingly. So if you're facing all WP enemy, having only Metal Jacket will be more than enough for you. The same goes all CP enemy. However if well played, I find difficult to counter CP Saw, so I grab a 2nd defensive item.

go for Fountain of Renewal; if jungler opponents build CP, or like I mentioned above if you're facing a CP Saw. Use it after your allies get few hits in during teamfights. Remember not to use it too late. It does not give great shield like Aegis, but you should not be at the front line at team fights anyway, so +60 shield should cover enough.

go for Crucible; if none of your teammates went for it and if opponent junglers are WP.

Also do not forget to get Reflex Block at mid game if you're playing against Koshka, Petal or Ringo to block their ultimate.

And what if you're doing great and just 1 defensive item is enough for you?

Then you can go and grab Clockwork for low cooldowns. This will allow you to spam your Achilles Shot like crazy and +50% cooldown on Hellfire Brew is very tempting. Or you can get Sorrowblade if you want to do additional Weapon Damage next to your Crystal Damage with your 2nd ability. Another item is Broken Myth, which comes quite handy if the opponent starts building up shield against you, however note that your ultimate does true damage, meaning even if the opponent builds shield against you, it will make damage.

HOW ABOUT GAMEPLAY? Top

Here I'm gonna try to be brief as much as I can...

Early Game
Start with a Crystal Bit and 2 Halcyon Potion. Do not try to play the hero and to kill enemy laner. Always move around, don't make yourself an easy target. You don't need to go to shop too often at this stage, so stay at lane and farm farm farm. Grab an Energy Battery, then Blazing Salvo and Eclipse Prism. As last, grab a tier-1 defensive item whatever your opponent is building up.

Tips : Don't forget about your Heroic Perk. Kill a minion, then 1 basic attack to the enemy and right after that use your Achilles Shot, and go back farming minions. If you get an edge over your enemy with your Heroic Perk, keep pushing until you get the feeling to go back to start position. Don't chase your enemy too long, focus on leveling up. Also have couple of potions with you all the time.

Eclipse Prism / Blazing Salvo / Energy Battery / Tier-1 Def Item

Early-Mid Game
It's time to kill some enemy. Grab Sprint Boots and few Scout Trap. Place them near the bush next to your turret and the bush in the middle on top. Farm a little bit more and now it's time for Alternating Current. Then upgrade your battery to Void Battery and your defensive item to tier-2.

Tips : Have 1 scout trap with you, and place them in lane to get some easy kills. Call your jungler ally to the nearest bush and lure the enemy towards you. Let your jungler ally make the first move (e.g. Krul or Glaive are great help to Ringo), when the enemy tries to escape, slow him down with Achilles Shot. Also always look to the map. When you see an enemy down at the jungle fighting with your ally, don't be selfish and go help them.

Sprint Boots / Alternating Current / Void Battery / Tier-2 Def Item

Late-Mid Game

Don't forget to carry some potions with you all the time. They will save you getting killed, but don't spend crazy gold on them. Time for Heavy Prism and then finally Eve of Harvest. Poke your nose more into the jungle area to help your allies, but also ping the lane, so that they will also come to help. Here you can start concentrating on killing enemies rather than farming.

Tips : Use your ultimate wisely. I've seen players using it very badly. Don't use on an enemy if he's going to die anyway. Use it if someone is escaping or if there's a teamfight and you want to reduce their health (since if the enemies are close, it affects nearby enemies too). Having a Reflex Block is good for Ringo's ultimate. Use your Reflex Block with your ultimate, so the enemy won't stun you if you are too near. I personally don't waste Hellfire Brew on turrets but of course you can do it if it's necessary. Also, wait in the bush if you want to ambush the enemy and then throw away your ultimate.

Sprint Boots / Alternating Current / Eve of Harvest / Reflex Block / Tier-2 Def Item

Late Game
Save and build a Heavy Prism. Since you won't have any free slots, you'll need to stop getting potions, so be more careful at this stage. I prefer upgrading at least 1 of my defensive items to tier-3 before Shatterglass just to play safe. Mostly stick to your allies, stay at the back and help them win teamfights. Or go to lane from time to time, kill couple of minions to clear the way for your minions. Don't be a loner in the jungle, you'll get killed. Also upgrade your boots to Travel Boots.

Travel Boots / Alternating Current / Eve of Harvest / Heavy Prism / Tier-3 Def Item / Tier-2 Def Item

Late-End Game

Upgrade whatever is left. Upgrade Journey Boots as latest, tier-3 doesn't give any more speed than tier-2 boots.

Journey Boots / Alternating Current / Eve of Harvest / Shatterglass / 2 Tier-3 Def Item
