Threat Hero Notes
1
Grumpjaw The nerfs to Grumpjaw were harsh... he is no longer a considerable threat to Krul
2
Phinn Build your breaking point stacks on this dude.
3
Rona try to separate this warrior from her team and you are all set
4
Celeste Squishy af, but still a threat due to her stun.
4
Reim This dude is an easy 1v1 in the mid game, but be careful about his early and late game power.
5
Taka Not as good as he used to be. Still a threat, albeit a minor one.
5
Ringo Try to sneak up on him. In teamfights, keep your distance and wait for an opportunity to strike him down quick.
6
Ardan A little annoying due to his ult and A ability. Try to build a reflex block early to escape his ult.
7
SAW When going against SAW, NEVER go against him when he has full spin up stacks. Wait until he has none then attacks from behind in lane. In teamfights, he will try to melt you so try to kite him so that he loses his stacks.
8
Koshka Her early game is extremely powerful, she will shut you down several times before lv 6, so watch out for that. If you survive late game, then try to focus on her especially. Aftershock Koshka will force you to drop any tank build you are considering.
9
Petal pretty hard matchup, but if you can close the distance between you and her, you can easily destroy her
9
Skye Has LOTS of mobility, be VERY careful around her. Go for a more burst-focused or tanky build so you can shut her down.
10
Krul The saying "Your worst enemy is yourself applies here! Krul 1v1s are brutal and if you lag behind, it is going to be VERY hard to catch up. Get a more attack speed focused build to outscale the other krul and remember to go for attack speed in this matchup. Clear the jungle faster and get more xp. A one level difference or 300 gold difference means everything in this matchup.

Welcome to 3.4 Krul! Top

Welcome to this Krul guide! The new additions to the tank items have helped Krul and he is once again back to wreck the meta! So what changed? Well, Slumbering Husk now gives a generous amount of both armor and shield, while retaining its old passive (but now it is easier to trigger with a lower maximum health threshold). Slumbering Husk now allows carries and bruisers to get the armor and shield they need with fewer items. However, you still will build two defense items for Krul ( Slumbering Husk and one other defense item- personally, I like Pulseweave on Krul). Still, the new tank items provide even more flexibility that was not available before with just Metal Jacket/ Atlas Pauldron and Aegis. The ability to get both shield and armor earlier in the game with Slumbering Husk in the game has now allowed Krul to reach his late game potential much faster.

Justification Top

This chapter will justify the final build I have chosen for Krul

With the new update to tank items, this item has seen a nerf from 30% attack speed to 25%. However, this item is still very optimal for Krul as it still gives two important stats: attack speed for stacking Spectral Smite and health for survivability. This item fits well with the warrior playstyle that Krul relies on. Additionally, it provides a slow that can be used to track down slippery targets in a fight.

Krul's synergy with attack speed means that he gets great benefits from building weapon damage. Sorrowblade provides the weapon power he needs to deal serious damage to the enemy team

Because Krul is going to seek extended fights with his warrior playstyle, he will need an item that will help extend his dueling advantage. Breaking Point provides both scaling weapon damage and attack speed, both of which are extremely helpful for Krul.

I talked a lot about this item in the introduction, but I will remind Krul players that gaining an advantage in armor and shield will help him extend fights and provide extra mid-game power.

This item is beneficial to Krul because it provides not only health but also movement speed and a slow. This is important for extending fights. This item overall gives a lot of stats that Krul wants for a very good price.

This item's passive synergizes with Krul's need to constantly chase down enemies in a fight. Alternatively, this item is extremely useful for escaping a fight and then reinitiating at a later time.

Abilities Top

P: Shadows Empower Me
This passive is extremely important as it gives Krul both movement speed and a slow after he stays in a bush for 1 second. This can be used to travel quickly across bushes on the map to avoid getting spotted or to gank an enemy before they can run away. Alternatively, this can be used as a potential escape.

A: Dead Man's Rush
This ability allows Krul to close in on an enemy with a barrier. The addition of the barrier gives Krul a lot of survivability while also granting him a way to initiate fights and chase slippery targets. Use this ability at the start of the fight to minimize the chance you get bursted down or use it as a gap closer when your target tries to escape.

B: Spectral Smite
This ability passively applies (up to 8) stacks with every basic attack and ability. Each stack grants lifesteal, damage reduction, and a tremendous amount of damage when the ability is activated, it erases all stacks on a target enemy but also healing Krul for a large amount of health. Use the active component of this ability to finish off an opponent or to gain a massive heal during a fight.

C: From Hell's Heart
This ability, when activated, sends out a sword that stuns and damages the first enemy hit. The stun and damage increase with the distance the sword travels, so if possible, it is best to try to gain maximum distance with this ability. This ability can be used to initiate a fight, stall an enemy, or to gain an advantage in a 1v1 situation.

Final Comments Top

As this meta is still fresh, new builds are still being discovered. I will update this build if I find a more optimal item path for Krul or if the meta unexpectedly shifts in a new direction.

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this guide!
